A comprehensive video on styling linen for Summer.
One of the oldest and most sustainable fabrics and my personal favourite.
But it can be challenging to style due to its wrinkly nature.
There are some tricks you can use to wear your linen pieces and look chic and put together.

I loved your video. For the past 3 months I decided to change 80% of my clothes as I didn’t have a specific style. I used to buy everything. As I live in a summer country when it’s hot 10 months a year I decided to invest in linen cloths. They are very expensive to me but I am changing my clothes to linen and buying at least 4 pieces every month. I simply love the elegance of linen and I am 43 years old and never felt so elegant in neutrals and linen cloths ❤
thank you so much for your comment. Exactly! for such climate you need good quality breathable clothes. It’s a good technique, slowly getting clothes that you love. And remember, don’t sacrifice, only buy it if you want to wear it straight away. And most of all, clothes that you feel in like a Hundred Bucks😅 I’m exactly same with my neutrals, they make me feel elegant, put together, but also thanks to more relaxed silhouette that I choose - cool and modern.

Linen is essential for the hot summers here in California, even cotton is too hot when it’s 40C+. I now have enough linen pieces to cover me for the hot months, then I wash them as they get soiled. I think I have about four each of linen dresses, skirts and trousers and about twice that number of linen tops. In the cooler weather I iron them all well and store them, covered, on hangers for the next summer. It’s far too hot to do much ironing in my tiny, hot laundry area in the summer. I rather like ironing, but I hate getting overheated when I do it. I won’t wear linen that I haven’t ironed, it never looks or feels good without it, it needs that hot pressing for a smooth texture. Around the house alone, I live in linen jersey dresses from H&M, they’re as comfy as nightgowns. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what they look like, too, so I don’t wear them to go out, they’re both shapeless and sheer, but perfect for at home.

I agree about collars. I keep seeing those undersized, twee ones, they make the body proportions look weird and the shirt look skimpy. A good, substantial, classic size and shape collar is key.

Hello Mariola. I loved this video as I'm a big fan of linen clothing but usually only wear it in the summer. I iron all of my linen and as long as I start out freshly pressed I don't mind the wrinkles throughout the day. As you say, it's part of the charm of linen. Wondering if I would feel comfortable wearing it in the fall...I have a pretty linen dress that I would love to wear to a party in mid September. Happy to see your subscribers growing as I've been here since the beginning. Wishing you continued success :) As others have commented the background music is a bit distracting.

So nice to see you styling linen. I have a nice collection of linen pieces that I love to wear. What would be the appropriate months to wear linen? In other words, what month should we stop wearing linen? How would you describe the thickness? of the Grae Cove linen pieces? I love your combinations that you presented.
Hi Diane, these are very interesting questions. First of all when it comes to styling linen for slightly colder days I look at footwear and jackets/jumpers I can pair it with. For me the shoes that work are sandals(of course), ballerina flats, loafers and slimmer sneakers. For jackets, leather biker, wool blazer and chunky jumper. as long as I feel comfortable wearing those I’m happy to wear my linen trousers or shirts. I’m very impressed with the quality of Grae cove linen shirts. They are quite thick but not overwhelming. Thicker than GAP, H&M and Arket, but maybe slightly thinner than &other stories and COS. I really don’t know if that helps😁

I love linen. I have a problem with the wrinkling. Over the years I have found there are many ranges of weight to linen, with the heavier having less wrinkling. What brand have you found to be on the more substantial weight? My favorite color is navy as the wrinkles are less pronounced.
Wearing wrinkled linen requires a certain attitude. If wrinkles bother you even a little bit, you’ll be uncomfortable and it will show in your body. Linen requires you to be nonchalant. 😉😉
I couldn’t agree more!! really well said. It;s just like with everything else. I will just say, I always iron my linen clothes the first time after wash (and sometimes before another wear if it wrinkled in the wardrobe) because ironed clothes fall differently and look differently at the end of the day🥰

Hello Tricia, thank you for your sweet comment. I totally understand your dilemma, I was same. I’m 170cm (5’6”) and I usually wear a size 10UK or M. These pants are M and I think they fit well, but I would be willing to try L to see if they have more of a Samurai vibe to them (just my personal opinion😜). Also they are shorter on me than on the model fyi. I hope that helps😘

But think they have sold out of the medium anyway ☹️ Yes, the pants do look a good length on the model and I think it states that she is 5ft 9 🤷🏻♀️ Perhaps she has a really long torso and short legs!😉😄

I love linen clothes. But for some reason I just can not stand the half tuck …. To me it looks ridiculously untidy.
I agree! I feel ridiculous wearing it that way.
I understand your perspective. I, on the other hand, like to wear tailored pieces casually and if I tuck the shirt all the way I feel too preppy and like I’m going to office or something very formal. So I guess the half tuck is the way to make my stiff and more “serious” clothes casual and every day😊
can be better if 1/2 tuck instead 1/4! ridiculous on aged women !

Hi, thank you for your comment. I think it’s a very personal thing. I know people who wear linen in winter and I understand why. Linen is much softer and warmer on your skin than a stiff cotton shirt. I usually wear it in Spring, Summer and early Autumn, Also depends what shoes you wear with your trousers, not all of them will look good😊

@@rekwa3860 the texture is rougher unlike cotton. I have sensitive skin unfortunately. It is easy for people like me to have pruritus. I also live in a tropical country, so it is really humid here. It says it can be a breathable fabric but not in a tropical country..
