I love watching these videos before I go to sleep. I've been designing furniture and upcycling furniture for decades and I never get bored or tied of coming up with a new look or finding the perfect match for a client. If I can't find one to fix for them I'll just build it myself. It's so rewarding. Paint, stains etc have come a long way over the decades and less mixing paint to get a custom color these days. I still mix colors and design because I love every step. You're a much better teacher than me. I've passed your videos to several people wanting to learn.
I let my daughter (13) watch this and now she is making BIG plans for her bedroom. We just painted one piece in Silk and it looks great. Have you used Silk on any of your blended furniture pieces?

I guess it’s because you’re living in Europe, but you do have some wonderful vintage furniture pieces to paint. Do you think it will be difficult for you returning to America? Or are you just looking forward to the challenge “of the hunt” for the more unique pieces? I have to say, in my opinion, you are the “RUclips blending queen” and an excellent teacher as well. You make it all look so very easy!
Thank you so so much Judy!! There are a lot of styles in America I really miss that I can't get here. Believe it or not but DRESSERS and CHESTS OF DRAWERS are not at all big here, they don't have closets so they use wardrobes a ton so I really miss dressers the most lol does that make sense?

Hello Crys'Dawna. I just received my first ever tub of Dixie Belle paint (I've been using Annie Sloan,which I find lovely); but your brilliant eye for colour combinations has made me want to use Dixie Belle colours as well. The colour I have received is Mermaids Tail; and after seeing your beautiful sherbet chest I suddenly thought ' all things mermaids tail fans buy these actual faux tails to wear :-) and some of the colours are very pretty'. I would absolutely love to see your furniture version of mermaids tails (i'm a very recent hobbyist so way out of my league at the moment; but I would love to paint something like that for my little granddaughter one day). Thank you once again for your tutorials; my blending is much improved thanks to you. Kindest Regards.

I have not, but I plan on it in my next home, we are renting here in Germany but we own a home in Maine and I plan on doing a home series showing how I do the inside of the house in color :)

Thank you for sharing your technique! What a beautiful result. I have a question.... Do you put polyurethane over the wax or is the wax the final finish? I'm new to this and I typically use a polyurethane over but I have not used a wax yet. Thank you to anyone who answers!
May I ask please, if you weren’t doing a tutorial video, would you have worked right across the piece from top to bottom or would you still do in sections as you did in the video? And if so, would this be so it stays workable and not get too dry and difficult to manage a larger area?

RUclips Opinions I know it’s crazy so much is sold out, if you can find some purdy brushes at your local hardware store those are good brushes to use :)
J'aime beaucoup vos tutoriels et votre style. Dommage que les autos ne soient pas toujours sous titrés avec l'option Français. C'est souvent anglais et Espagnol seulement. Vous serait il possible de rajouter le Français ?

I don’t but if it is a glossier finish, or if the finish is compromised with chipping or peeling I do :)

How do you pick your colors?
So often times I am inspired by objects that really helps,(dresses, I am not kidding this was inspired by a clothes ad, nature, a rusty pole...) you can check out a color wheel and that will really help you see. I do ten minute Tuesdays every week and I think I am going to do one about it :) (just gotta find my color wheel lol)
Do you ever scuff sand anything before u paint ?
Yes it depends on the paint I use and the actual piece so the cleaner I use is a deglosser as well which is what scuff sanding does. But if a piece is super shiny I clean and sand. It really depends on the piece of that makes sense?
