The biggest problem with AMEX cards is that they are not accepted by most of the merchants.
Does amex give rewards on tuition and school fee?
Online acceptance is quite good. Plus at all high end places they are accepted so use it online if you don't go to such places regularly.
Lastly you can buy vouchers of all brands and use the card anywhere u want
As i know Amex has discontinued statement credit under 18k and 24k, Seems you have not done your homework....

Classic mistake in the analysis when someone is spending 6k per month. In this case, the yearly charges are applicable and need to be subtracted before calculating the returns %
I have hdfc savings account and I am maintaining 50k-2 lakh from 3 months
I was waiting for pre approved but got no one
So I applied from branch And got approval in 3 days
Televerification done on call, they told me that I will get hdfc freedom card so I provided all the necessary details and your home verification will be done in 2-3 days
But till 15 days no one came and I got rejection message 😭
Branch told me that apply in the month of September because of the completion of your quarter.
Please give me your thought on this 🙏🏻
Hi, I opened a Savings Max Account (25k min) in May and applied for Credit Card online in August and got a Business Moneyback card. I had a CIBIL score of 749. I maintained 50k-1.5 lakh. Also, I already had a 9 month old FD credit card from ICICI (limit 72k). Maybe these are the reasons why. However, the credit limit I got on HDFC card was abysmally low, only 17,000.

Wish AMEX is little more merciful on their services in India. Rs.50 for 1 MR point is very very low. I own AMEX Cobalt card here in Canada and they give me 1 MR pt for $1 and 5 MR pts for 1$ if I use my card for groceries and restaurants. Compared to this, 1 MR pt for Rs.50 is brutal.
But on this card one gets 1000 Bonus MR points for doing 4 transactions of Rs. 1500 or more in a month. Plus 1000 Bonus MR points more if your spends are at least Rs. 20,000 in a month. So, 2000 bonus points on spending Rs. 20,000 which translates to 1 MR point on every Rs. 10 one spends, which definietly ain't too bad.
@@CardAcademy Alright, considering the Rs.20,000 for 2000 points means, if a person spends that much for 9 months, they will be spending Rs 1.8 lakh to get points for 18 karat gold collection (excluding the separate points per rupees earned). This might feel like a lot for some but when we're considering with the level of bonus and advantages of AMEX in US or Canada, they're very poor in India. Not very affordable for an average Indian. For example, I made upto 42000 MR points in 3 months by spending approx 2000$ monthly which is normal for people in Canada. 42000 pts is equivalent to flight ticket worth 420$.AMEX India need to step up to make it attractive enough for regular Indian spenders
@@KiranAlokkan Agreed. Amex is better in US/Canada. Still Amex is better than most credit card issuers in India. We believe Amex isn't as good in India as in say US is due to low TDR/MDR in India in comparison to US.
@@CardAcademy Agreed on that. As a user of multiple credit cards of SBI & HDFC, AMEX does offer better rewards in comparison.
So when we spend 20k each month, do we actually enroll each month after spending 20k? Or it is to be done once at the beginning?

Go with a combination of the SBI Cashback card which gives you 5% cashback on any online transactions except bills, Insurance etc, And the Axis Flipkart card for offline transactions of 1.5% Cashback, Axis Ace gives you 2% on the offline transaction which is better than Axis Flipkart but the Axis is not issuing them now.
Apart from the above credit cards, you can consider prepaid - Slice cards for amazing offers.

The MRCC points are valid for lifetime. Yes, presently there is no convenience fee on transactions upto Rs. 5000 on HP Petrol Pumps. But this offer may not last for a long time. Also, one does not get any Reward Points on fuel transactions.

@@kunalshah2331 Regalia is a lot better at 2500 annual fee.. I guess the only selling point is that it's an Amex. Other than that, I don't see any real advantage over even a millenia.

Is it better than GOLD card?
For most people, MR is better than Gold.
My analysis: Not a good card because if you don't meet the targets your return is 0.5% which is very very low. Compared to other cards like the SBI Cashback Card which gives 5% money back instead of silly points.

maine 12 june 23 1am ko apply kiya amex membership reward card
VKYC done 11am. 13 june ko 10am mail aaya for document upload. mere pass total income 530101 and 465390 net profit ka ITR tha. Kam tha 6 lac chahiye.
Fir maine 1st axis flipkart cc limit 155K available limit 1.3K ka statement upload kiya second row me ITR computation of income jo 530101 show kar raha tha 3rd ITR ka main page 4th me bank statement select kiya 3 month ka jisme 11 lac ka turnover show ho raha tha.. sab ek sath upload kar diya. 14 june 11.30am received a mail stating
YOUR APPLICATION IS APPROVED
DIRECT AMEX KI SITE SE APPLY KIYA THA. MAHENGA PADEGA.. UPDATE HERE AFTER LIMIT CONFIRM.

Darling, It’s not an entry level card I guess! It has a heavy ₹5000 renewal fee like other premium cards, Smart earn is Amex’s entry level card. In my 16 credit cards from different banks it’s the most expensive card.
