My grandfather was very lucky ... He Saw tagore when he (grandfather)was in his early 20s..
In Shantiniketan ...there he used to study .. literature ...
And I'm lucky to hear this amazing stories from him...

অসাধারণ বললে বোধহয় কম বলা হবে. এই নিয়ে চার পাঁচ বার দেখলাম, প্রতিবারই নতুন লাগে. কবিগুরুর voice শুনেছি কিন্তু ওঁনাকে এইভাবে প্রত্যক্ষ করা সত্যি ভাগ্যের ব্যাপার. কেন যে সেই যুগে জন্ম গ্রহণ করি নি, সেটাই অত্যন্ত দুর্ভাগ্যের ব্যাপার. তাহলে সরাসরি ওঁনার কাছে শিক্ষার সুযোগ পেতাম. এতো সুন্দর একটি video আমাদের উপহার দেবার জন্য আপনাকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ.

He was such a tall man that even Russians were about the same hight as him
And he had a fit, strong and solid body ... 😎 He used to practice wrestling at his house daily and was a great wrestler also.
Russians during and post World War 2 had shrunk in height(as Russia had lost some 20% of its population). Nevertheless they were still tall people averaging around 5"10. Gurudev once famously said he is about 5"9(which is very tall for that time, considering rural Bengali people averaged 4"9). So he may seem pretty ordinary for today's time, but back then it was huge.

5'9 isn't very short either, some people just look taller for some reason even when they are below 6ft.
