Just came across this 2 month old review. I bought the LUT7 a couple of weeks ago, and one cool thing I hadn't seen mentioned in reviews, including yours, is that you can power your camera from the monitor as well. There's an 8.4v output for a dummy battery. I use the biggest F970 batteries for the most power for monitor and camera. It's so much easier to swap out the batteries on the LUT7 than opening the GH5 battery door when it's on a tripod or gimbal. It's a great monito for outdoorsr, especially for the price.
I saw some reviews saying there is no battery life display but I see it in your video. Is there a display? When using 2 batteries, does it shows 2 battery life meter or 1? Does it use 1 battery at a time or both at the same time?
Youe reviews are hands down the best. Do you think you'll be able to review Olympus cameras in the future? That would really round out your coverage of mirrorless and m43. Cheers!
I enjoy your reviews, you explain things with clarity, and that is what is most important, so thanks. I heard that this monitor screen gets very hot, is that your experience?
This or the Shinobi do you think? They are the same price in Sweden. And is it worth to pay 250 USD more for the Ninja 5 for the recording functionality for future proofing and slightly better codecs? I have the Sony A7iii.
Nice video. A question apart from this. I'm looking for a new camera and I can't decide between G9 and GH5. It will be focused for video work. The G9 has a nice firmware update I've seen. So the GH5 still better because of the 400mbs and has C4K. What else I'm missing here? Should I just go for the G9 and save some money for good lenses? Not sure if 400mbs/C4K will be so important for my work. Also G9 has a better stabilization I guess. What's you opinion please? Give me some light.
I have never used G9 with the new FW, so I can't help you much with that. If you don't mind recording limit, it is probably still good camera at that price point.
Great video! Not sure I understand correctly about the Sony vs menus ect. As I understand it, you cannot set the exposure, shutter, fps ect which is being displayed on the somys own monitor, on the Lut7? Only the image you are filming? Thanx again :-)
@@TheHybridShooter Ok. Sorry about that. Hard to explain :-D. I am asking if the "info" from the camera will be displayed on the Lut7 from the camera? As I understand it, yes, but the cameras own screen will shut down while doing so... Not sure this explanation was any better :-D Anyway. Thanx for replying. You are a champ :-)
I also have one of these monitors, just wondering when I have it on my A7III 4k@24 the monitor is not full screen :( but it works full screen when I use it on my G9. I see when you had it connected on your A7III it was using the full screen. Is there a setting I have to change in my A7III or change something in the monitor settings ? Can you please guide me in the right direction ? Thanx
For some reason my a7iii doesnt fill out the whole screen like i see it does yours...it has borders which is weird...do you know how to fill out the whole screen
Hey I have a Feel World F7 an I’m experiencing An issue with the volume. It seems to only play sound when my headphones is inserted. Any information on how I can get it to play via the 2 speakers on the back? Or will audio on the F7 only work with headphones attached? Thanks in advance
This is great monitor although there is one issue that makes me wonder if my unit is defective: If I have a battery connected to the monitor a red led will ALWAYS be on. Even after powering the unit to the green led status, then powering off, the led will then show red and it will stay that way until I remove the battery. The problem with this is that I must always remove the battery for fear that it will be drained over time by the perpetual burning of the red led. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me?
It’s nothing. The indicator is of the monitor being turned on or not. The battery draining will not happen when the light is red. Ideally they should have switched it off completely. But you can ignore. No harm done.
With Nikon Dslr like Nikon Z5, or other Nikon brands, can you see the focus square in the Feelworld external monitor? For the readers that have used this monitor with Nikon dslr or mirrorless camera

Black markers for film, instagram resolution? Thank you
wich is better. this one or the Desview R7P?
How do you program the three custom buttons on the top of the monitor.
Does it have in built a slog converter for flat profile? Thanks
Great review. I have this monitor but don’t get to use it often. So I wanted to see if anyone had tutorials but this overview was very helpful.
Cheers
Thank you!
Can I connect it to the 12V battery port ?
Ok. I'm sold. This is the one

Its on the screen. It has bars

Thank you! Unfortunately not, I don't intend to review Olympus cameras in the future.
Thank you for your review!
Great video. It works for a mavic 2 pro and nikon p1000?
If they support HDMI output, it should work.
Hi nice review...this monitor can record 10bit like with atomos ninja v for canon?
No, it is not a recorder at all.
I enjoy your reviews, you explain things with clarity, and that is what is most important, so thanks. I heard that this monitor screen gets very hot, is that your experience?
can you turn off the ambient light sensor? It's been annoying me lately.
Yes, you can.
When you apply DC power to the monitor, will it turn on by itself? Is this possible of do you have to press the power switch?
What is the difference between the 7s and the 7? Only the SDI in and out? Thx!
Yes, only the SDI.
@@TheHybridShooter what is SDI ?
@@deepdesire6967 Just google SDI input...

Honestly, I don't know, I haven't used either of Atomos monitors / recorders.
Hey buddy, what about the latency? Any image lags on the GH5?
I haven't noticed any lags.

The info will only be displayed on cameras screen, picture on external monitor.
Is it still working? I've of lots of complaints on this monitor
Of course it is.
I can't get the Lut7S to display the full screen real estate on the monitor from my Sony A7S :(

i noticed when ever i go over 24fps on my sony a7siii the lut7s does not get any video footage any tips?
Can you use this on a gimbal like the weebill s?
Yes, you can.
For some reason my a7iii doesnt fill out the whole screen like i see it does yours...it has borders which is weird...do you know how to fill out the whole screen
Does the monitor display anything if you want to record at 120fps on the A7III?
Yes, it still outputs 60 Hz.
Thanks for replying, video liked, keep up the good work 👍

It doesn't have speakers.
Very useful video.
Thank you
Can I use it to record 10 bit 4.2.2 in my nikon z6
This is not a recorder, it is only monitor.
@@TheHybridShooter jf I need a cheap recorder what is the best option
Atomos Ninja V.

Don't worry the red led doesn't drain the battery to much.. For test many days without use.. The battery say the same level of power
How long does the battery last on this monitor? And which battery are you using? I'm thinking I'm going to use an npf970
thank you shooter
You’re welcome!
to be exact 4k 60fps on sony a7siii does not work
Has anyone experienced a black trim on the monitor? I can’t seem to get a full screen display on the monitor ...I am using it with my Sonya7r3
I'm not sure what do you mean by black trim. It is 16:10 monitor, cameras shoot in 16:9 so you will always get black bars on the top and bottom.
@@TheHybridShooter so how were some of your images full screen? I see a lot of people asking this question
My tilt arm that can with the monitor isn't tilting from where the monitor mounts. I don't know if I'm being too careful which is why it won't tilt.

The giant 1 inch bevel all around the edges looks whack. Why not utilize the entire screen. Ughhh
That’s cool, dood.
where is touch focus ..
There is no touch focus on external displays.
Thick bezels:(
