Plant people, if you hit the power button 2x it then allows you to have full white and then change the color spectrum. Full white plus red, or blue, or green etc. It cycles the colors of the middle row leds only in the mode. 2x double click power to get back to normal full color change mode.
Hi can you explain this more fully please? I just purchased this light and want my plants to grow better and have no idea what to set it at! I just set it as described but from what it sounds like it stays at 70% or 100% whatever you set it at and does not change for the hours set! I tried another cycle yesterday with the L1-L8 settings and it does not look like you can change each light %, it is white, or red, blue or green, etc for that L setting. Also I guess I set it wrong as it was set to go off at 7 and was still running at 8p.m. so I just shut it off for the night. Thank you for any reply.
Not sure if there was a firmware or feature update since this video was originally made, but this light now has a third DIY mode to set both time and intensity for L1-L8. The feature in the HG-957 is called DIY Mode and has two steps; one step to enter into DIY function by holding the gear and bulb buttons simultaneously and changing to 'ON', and then separate series of steps to program the time and intensity for each "L" period of time to create your own dawn to dusk. L1-6 is full spectrum and L7-8 is moonlight. Below is a link to Hygger's user manual. Page 7 describes DIY Mode. Hope that helps someone.
Dude, you're a savior, lost my manual ages ago, and needed to reset my light after a recent power outage. Totally forgot everything I read in that book, but I think I'll actually remember what you taught.
I am so glad you showed this. I have 2 of these and couldn't for the life of me figure it out. My son was the only one who could do it. I need another one and was not going to buy another hyyger because of this. Now I know, thank you very much!!!!
Very timely video. I have one of these on order. Reading the reviews setting the timer seemed to be the most frequent complaint. I feel much more confident that I can figure it out now.
Mines still working a year after purchase. Really dumb that you can't change the intensity. Any suggestions for a better unit? Thanks for the video it helped me finally turn off the timers.
This was very helpful. Does it automatically ramp up/down the brightness at the beginning/end of the day cycle... and the same for the moon cycle? If you adjust the brightness to say 50... will that remain the brightest setting, so the day/moon cycles ramp up/down between 0 and 50?
is there a way to bypass all the timer crap, and just turn it on and off manually? i have 2 of them, and i want them alternating, so i always have 1 on at each end....i had no problem setting the first one for the correct 'normal settings. but i cant figure out how to set the second one so it is on during the night....and i am hoping i can just turn it on and off and ignore the timing....thanks! (try getting hold of hygger to ask for help-non existant! no phone number-only emails!)
Yep, use this vid...when you first go into the timer area change it from on to off...he does it in the vid. Do same for moon setting I'd you also want that timer off.
Did you know if you double tap the light button and you get a colour like the purple and all the wrgb light's am just trying to set it up with that light setting in the timer mode
I'm considering buying this lamp for my 20g L 30" tank. When this is set in DIY mode will the light completely shut off or does it stay on at night at the lowest brightness in a so-called moon setting?
You can set a 8 time stage setting on it by holding the cog and light button together and do 7 settings the 8th is your off time the 7th is moon phase the rest are day setting only can have blue light though also so you can double press the light button and gwt the colour you want with all the wrgb on at the same time makes colours you want to stand out by picking the extra colour
In the instructions there is a section for " DIY Mode", where you can adjust the light intensity for each stage. From L1-L8, Google the manual if you tossed yours.
@PACKAGE ENVY Your comment was absolutely irrelevant. It doesn't matter if that's not what the video is about, this person was providing additional options for people that are interested in adjusting the intensity of the light during their cycles.
Hi from what I understand as I just tried this yesterday is that in L1 for example you can change 1 color of light intensity but you can't change each colored light's intensity, is that correct? I couldn't find out how to do that. A person sent me their chart from a Hygger and she was able to do that, so must be a different light? Mine also did not go off at the proper time, so must be something I did wrong! Thanks for any reply.
I have 2 of these and while they are overall a good value they do need some tweaking. I'd be willing to pay 20-25 bucks more for an app capability like the Fluval's.
I have done a bit of manufacturing, adding a button etc does add a lot more processes in assembly. Wi-fi capability etc shouldn't be that expensive. Obviously within limits. Strange to see competitors not adding this feature. or will they later? I sooo want to pull the pin on one of these. Probably still will and I am really late to the party. April '24
I've had mine for 2 months and still can't set it, I have this on my 75gal tank I have another one on my 30gal but one is the one with the control on the plug it's a little better to work.
I have this but I think mine is broken.it doesnt turn off at the time I set it to.I'm using the diy mode but the daylight mode is still on and I cannot turn it off.
@@kenschreiner I just reset it..but still turns off earlier than its supposed to. I just adjusted the time it turns on so I still get the desired amount of light.
🥲 I set the time but I can’t get to the daylight setting ( currently setting up a 125 planted tank so I need the timer ) but other then that it’s great
The problem with this light in my experience is that , it resets the time and light intensity to 100% whenever the power goes off.so if you are not home and the power goes off, goodluck with the 100% intensity.it's okay if you already have high tech setup but if ur on low tech, it will be a disaster
Ok. So that's not just happening to me. I've setup it up a couple of times now and get home from work and it will be on a 💯 % even tho I set it to 40%. My poor pea puffers were so stressed 😢
Do you have to set it up every time or you just leave it and forget about it? (Is it like the old model which you had to push the button to start the cycle every day?)
Horrible light. I'm stick with mine. Return process sucks. Should of used Amazon. Power goes out and your light dont turn on when it comes back on. Sucks because the light is nice otherwise. For people with plants that go out of town you better hope the power doesn't go out.

Do you know how to trigger the gradient 6 color changing. I hit it once by accident and it looks so cool.
Same.. I got it twice.. But still can't figured it🤣
Hit the power button to go thru all the different colors, the color changing effect is the green one right before the full white.

You can have it be in the lowest brightness with blue lights on. If not on a timer, you'll have to turn on/off yourself.
If the moon light setting is off, then the light will simply go off.

Not user friendly at all, gave up on trying to program mine and plugged it into a Kasa smart plug
