  • An excellent morning spent at Bruxelles-Midi located in the capital city of Belgium where we see plenty of services from SNCB/NMBS, TGV, Thalys and Eurostar.
    The former station was known as Station des Bogards/Bogaardenstation which existed in 1840 located in the southern part of the city.
    Because the Belgian railway network was starting to get bigger it also meant that the old station could no longer cope with the demand it meant that a bigger station needed to be constructed. This took place in 1869 where the current station now stands, the current station did have a terminus but this was subsequently removed in 1949 and made part of a through station to coinside with the North-South connection project.
    This is an amazing station to come to and I highly reccomend it to anyone that is thinking of coming to Belgium.
    Please keep an eye out for part 2 which is much better than this first part.
    You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, videos and photos from all of my goings on throughout 2018

    DSB (Danish Railways) have IC3 and ET which are DMU and EMU units respectively and they look like the AM96s with SNCB (The ones with a rubber band around the cab window)

    I think it was your Away-game that got me hooked... But I do so much enjoy when you're abroad. Some serious Workhorses here, love the designs both Trains and Elevated Station. Destination matters not, Make and Model means more. Awesome job, stay safe and enjoy it a little. Thanks!! B.P.

      I know absolutely nothing about the railway system in continental Europe hahaha, but every time I get the chance to film abroad I'm always really excited about it because it gives me the chance to see something different and gain a further understanding of how the railways work in Europe. But I loved this station and the various trains that I was able to capture during my time here

      Yeah, it really is nice to see all the odd matches and double hook-ups. They go big for real! B.P.

      The ones at 3:15 (for example) definitely. Siemens Desiro Mainline to be precise (or ML for short). Several of those in Germany and Austria too (if not elsewhere in Europe too). As 2021 their successor unit is the Siemens Mireo.

    Eurostar now go direct to Amsterdam via Brussels Midi.

    • @Tornado922
      @Tornado922  6 лет назад

      Actually they currently don't. You can go to Lille and catch a Thalys train from there or carry onto Brussels and get a Thalys from there. They are currently testing the Eurostars on that section of the network
