  • Overhauling the animatronic insides of an old robot this week. This real life animatronic breakdown has been neglected for a number of years and is in need of an overhaul. My shop specializes in exhibits for amusement parks, museums, and various attractions. I'll be fixing a few issues with the air cylinders and modifying some brackets in our animatronic repair shop getting it ready for Halloween. This pneumatic prop is powered by a HauntBots controller.
I have disabled comments on this video because after being published for over a year, people are still arguing about whether this was a Mitzi or a Rolfe even though it has been answered multiple times. Neither - It was built from pieces that would have been a Rolfe but never were. These were parts that came from the basement of CEI in one of their first ebay auctions (about 20 years ago). It was a pair of legs and a torso. All the connecting bits and the skull were fabricated. There was no head and no Earl. Also, it is very common to re-use animatronics for other applications- The most unpopular example being Concept Unification but even Disney does it all the time.
