orient ray raven is gorgeous in person. I always catch some girls having their eyes fixed on it. It has a very subtle "bling" that makes it look so much more expensive than it really is.

I recently bought a black IP coated Orient Defender 2. I'm seriously in love with that blacked out look. I'm with you Rob in that I love the look of worn-in IP/PVD watches, and I can't wait till it wears in. Before buying the watch, I was concerned how that coating would look when it was worn-in. I looked at pics of watches with worn-in IP and PVD coatings, and they remind me of a much loved military rifle or a police service pistol.
I bought a Ray Raven 2 from one of your Sunday Funday sales and almost immediately dropped it and cracked the mineral crystal. Now it has a sapphire crystal upgrade lol Really a nice little watch for the price.
@@jg89srt Well, I already had the crystal press probably $15, and then I bought a flat sapphire for $45 from Long Island watch. In my case the watch movement and bezel were still perfect and the glass swap is pretty easy to do.
I just received a mint blacked out gen 1 raven ray and it surpassed all my expectations. I was thinking of modding it but changed my mind when i got a hold of it.
That Ray Raven looks killer. Kinda like a mod I want but straight from the factory with nothing I need to replace, I am happy with just a bezel pip. May get this to go with my Kamasu, they'll make a nice pair.
Robert M Wearing the Ray Raven II. Great watch. Looks very nice on wrist and so comfortable. Coating has proven durable. Bracelet is more than OK, but I have it on a ‘Bond’ nato strap. Got mine for US$160 last year. Worth it.
Robert M that’s hilarious. I actually have been been enjoying my orient ray raven 2 with my kamasu. Can’t believe how good quality they are. Never thought watches would bring me so much joy lol.

My first and only mod I've done myself is a white dial usa with blk 300MM handset, red sec hand, same sub bezel with lumed saphire Pepsi 12hr dual time bezel insert. Its damn near perfect! Love orient!

Good choice. I have a black dial mako 2 and a white dial mako 2usa and they are great. The mako 2 USA is so worth it. Second best lume in my collection. And #1 is not a seilko but a citizen promaster Eco drive diver. Any way great video.
good day Can you please advise how durable is this coating? is it scratch resistant? how does look watch after those 3 years? are visible any markings where stainless steel is already visible?
I have a Ray 2 IP black (Ray 2 Raven) I absolutely love this watch. I have a DD Sapphire with AR Blue and a bead blasted pvd coin edge bezel coming, I haven't made up my mind on the bezel insert yet. My biggest problem I'm having, is finding a new pvd or dlc coated bracket with solid end links. Maybe someone in here can send me in the right direction?
The Ray Raven looks so cool. Is the black really that deep? Looks beautiful. I got the black ray and debating if they look too similar to pull the trigger on the Raven 2.
Came here to look at the Ray raven, ended up falling in love with the modded Mako usa II...found it on the long island watch website (unmodded, ofc) but they don't ship to the Netherlands. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I could get one..it's stunning
The modding community really need to get on the Ray/Mako bandwagon. I want more variety than just those flat coin edge SKX style aftermarket bezel.

I bought a Mako USA II from Long Island Watch and I love it. It ticks all the boxes and it feels like a tank. Very pleased with it.

I picked up my orient USA bezel from Marc at longislandwatches and it fits perfectly.
Definitely an Orient fan boy since getting my full lume Mako XL! It gets more wrist time than my SKX011 and my Citizen Promaster.
That Orient Mako USA looks great.

Right -- It's the Mako _USA II_ , not Mako (different watch, and with 12-6-9 on dial) nor Mako USA (there was a 1st gen model with that 2nd crown)

The sides of the watch are polished, so when they did the coating, it really made it look cool.

Mechanically Orient is 2nd to none! But boy, their watches look way too busy, splattered with huge hour markers and hands.
I was just looking at them and the first thing I dislike was the big numbers, IMO, looks toyish or way way too entry level.
I've got the Triton which has a much better movement. I hoping the wifey gets me the Strap Code super Louis jubilee to go on it for Christmas...
