    Thank your for the awesome video, I’ve learned so much. When your trying to start a t shirt business there’s not a lot of information out there. I feel like you know your stuff and I can trust you. One thing I have to say is that I’ve ordered the shakawear and I wasn’t very pleased with the material. If felt cheap and it was stiff and not very soft, I will agree the fit is great though.

      Yooo I appreciate you for watching. I started my merch making journey a few years back and had no idea what I was doing at the time and couldn’t find any good info about what I was looking for, so I decided to try many different brands and document them. I’m still learning tbh, everything I know now has been the result of trial and error and seeing what works for me. There’s no such thing as a one size fits all, so it really depends on what you’re looking for. As for Shaka Wear, I felt the same about them being stiff at first, but it may take a few washes before they break in. If you’re looking for something softer, you should look into the Comfort Colors 1717. They feel pretty nice and has a decent fit as well. Much love bro.

    The shaka wear Max heavyweight is different from the garment dye version. The regular max heavyweight is long and slim so it's more of a tall T than an oversized, which was really disappointing. Might return all of mine since the garment dye variant costs twice as much from jiffy shirts

    • @jiggywithj
      @jiggywithj  Год назад +1

      @sh0rtaznant I haven't checked on Shaka Wear's pricing recently, but they might have raised their prices on the blanks. I think they're at $6.50-6.75 per blank. You'll need a reseller's permit to get that pricing. The easiest way to do it would be to purchase the blank and have a local print shop do the rest. A tech pack is definitely helpful so that your printer will know where to print your graphics. You won’t really need a manufacturer unless you’re doing a completely cut & sew piece. Most of the time factories will have minimums, so just keep that in mind.

    I’m new to this blanks T-shirts but I feel everyone advertising and conducting the wrong fact about tshirts. Is not about how they feel new, is not about how they fit new. It’s all about which shirt feels and fits better after washing and dying! Booom! Whoever can understand this will kill the market.
    All new shirts feel and look great. The problem is how they get once they get washed and dried. The best shirt is the shirt that won’t shrink as much, and won’t fade as easily.

    • @jiggywithj
      @jiggywithj  Год назад +1

      Yup. That’s why I always go with blanks that have been pre-shrunk to minimize shrinking. It also depends on how you take care of your garments. The best way to preserve them is to hand wash (or delicate wash setting in washer) and air dry.

    Thanks for the video bro. Which one of these is the best heavyweight tee in your opinion (asides from the rue porter). I just did a test print on a Gildan 5000 and the quality was definitely worse than I was expecting. Felt super cheap and thin. I like my tees a little thicker Thanks!

    • @jiggywithj
      @jiggywithj  2 года назад +2

      Yooo. Gildan G5000 is definitely lower when it comes to quality and cost. In my opinion, either Shakawear or Los Angeles Apparel are your best bets for something that’s more heavyweight. Keep in mind that LA Apparel tees are pigment dyed, so the colors are more faded (vintage look).

      Shaka Wear did raise their wholesale prices. For example, the max heavyweight garment dye tees went up from $5.25 (as of September 2021) to $6 (as of January 2023). They also raised their order minimums, so just be aware of that. Minimums used to be $50, but now you have to order at least $200. Alternatively, if you don't want to spend the $200 minimum, you can go on sites like Superline Wholesale to purchase blanks individually for $10/ea.
