- Protima Bedi, Model turned Odissi dancer speaks about her experiences. She says, "I used to be a model and a very famous one then I was married to Kabir Bedi and I had two children I was about 26 years old I have dressed appropriately in the halterneck and tight jeans and strict hair pink and blue to go to a fashion show and rock concert I walked into a wrong theatre and I saw this dance I have never heard of Odissi I have never seen it I had no idea it existed and this is what is going on in the stage, I just sat there for two hours and I knew I'd come home. The next year I flew to Orissa with oil in my hair and a saree and a blouse and sat at the feet of my Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. It took some time for him. The first he made when I went to ask him was he said what have you learned before and whoever learned from then I said I have never learned and he said but you are too old you can't learn now and I said that I am still young he said no for dance you are very old and when I insisted he said there are a lot of sacrifices one has to make in life to learn dance.

This lady was way ahead of her time. She knew a woman's identity is something beyond a mother and a wife. She lived for her passion 🔥
Exactly ❤️
That it is true
Yess, She was not Indian either, She is a privileged upper class from London.
Look at the poor women who make Sacrifices everyday. The sacrifices these people make is nothing.
Its not about woman identity ...its about choice in life
Living life like slutt, not knowing who d father of her son and u call it way ahead of time.
I was just watching pooja bedi's interview on koshish se kamyabi tak and she was talking about her mother so just searched her name and I got this...I must say she's a strong woman with great dedication for her work ☺
I am here too after watching Pooja’s interview

Read timepass her autobiography.
I’m meant to be finishing an assignment right now but i by chance saw this in my subscription box & couldn’t help but watch. Protima ma’am’s life has captivated me - I’ve read her memoir over & over & her interviews captivate me even more. thank u for posting yet another enlightening interview of Protima ma’am ❤️
Feel very proud and happy to have had a chance to be associated with her and Nrityagram of the 90s.
No words. Am out of words for this creation of God!! Such a creative genius, kind. She comes across as so lovable to me . . listening to her recordings/interviews has been a blessing to me.
Hats off to you . .Mam.
She was way ahead of her times. Her life has been tragic nonetheless but she was always upbeat. She learned the dance form at a time when she was going through a rough patch in her personal life and yet she gave her soul to the art. Her passion for life is incredible.
She was a multimillionaire upper class spoiled women.
@@Pyasa.shaitan save the judgement for yourself.
@@doinalright4552 That’s not a judgement; Judgment means coming up with results. I told you the materialistic truth.

@@dimuthupasqual5785I think u want to follow her footsteps
@@dimuthupasqual5785 hey if your husband tell you one fine day i am deeply passionate and my dream girl i found her. Kindly deal with the kids and yourself. Bye bye………would you be happy that he had the audacity to tell you his dream and passion about this new women.
