Ordinarily Chants are religious in nature. Performed a lot by monks in monestary. They are sung to honor God. Usually find them in the Catholic faith. I’m catholic and I love to go to a big cathedral and listen to this. The acoustics are amazing. Thank you what a pleasant surprise, peace ✌️
Awesome reaction video man!! I really appreciate that you are willing to steer your boat into these waters. You are a beacon! Also, if you are willing to travel a few hundred years forward to some late medieval groove, I can recommend Guillaume de Machaut and especially the song "Je vivroie liement/Liement me deport". That particular song is a different style of music than this (more upbeat/folky), but the melody is hauntingly beautiul.
This is pretty much where it all started. Without this sound, there would be no rock, no pop, no blues, nothing. The roots of all music. I have a degree in music. Any time you want to learn, find your way to Kansas City and find me. I'll be HAPPY to teach you!
Gratia vobis et pax! For 2,000 years absolutely 100% (at least before the late 1960’s) of walking into most any Catholic Church, Monastery or pilgrim site is ethereal-to step out of this world and bring all of your senses to something above us, namely Almighty God, the Son of God-Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit; His Angels, Saints and Martyrs (the great cloud of witnesses). This is done through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Sacred Music (Gregorian Chant), Sacred Scripture & Liturgy chanted in Latin and depicted through Sacred Art & Icons; Incense, Holy Water, consecrated Church Bells and the architecture of the Church itself. You can still find this today in any Traditional Catholic Latin Society Parish (namely High Mass) or any like Monastery such as the Benedictine Monks at Clear Creek Abbey in OK as well as others. If you’re ever in Phoenix, stop by Mater Misericordiae Catholic Church any Sunday 1030 High Mass or any Feast Day. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, Vivat Christus Rex!
1. A day of wrath; that day, it will dissolve the world into glowing ashes, as attested by David together with the Sibyl. 2. What trembling will there be, when the Judge shall come to examine everything in strict justice. 3. The trumpet's wondrous call sounding abroad in tombs throughout the world shall drive everybody forward to the throne. 4. Death and nature shall stand amazed when creation rises again to give answer to its Judge. 5. A written book will be brought forth in which everything is contained from which the world shall be judged. 6. So when the Judge is seated, whatever is hidden will be made known: nothing shall go unpunished. 7. What shall I, wretch, say at that time? What advocate shall I entreat (to plead for me) when scarcely the righteous shall be safe from damnation? 8. King of awesome majesty, who to grants salvation to those that are to be saved, save me, o fount of Piety. 9. Remember, dear Jesus, that I am the reason for Thy journey (into this world): do not cast me away on that day. 10. Seeking me, Thou didst sit down weary, Thou didst redeem me, suffering the death on the Cross: let not such toil have been in vain. 11. Just Judge of vengeance, grant me the gift of pardon before the day of reckoning. 12. I groan like one condemned: my face blushes for my sins: spare a supplicant, o God. 13. Thou who didst absolve Mary (Magdalen), and heard the robber, hast given me hope as well. 14. My prayers are not worthy: but Thou, of Thy goodness, deal generously (with me), that I burn not in the everlasting flame. 15. Give me a place among the sheep, and separate me from the goats, setting me on Thy right hand. 16. When the accursed have been confounded and sentenced to acrid flames, call me along with the blessed. 17. I prostrate myself, supplicating, my heart in ashes, repentant; take good care of my last moment! 18. That day will be one of weeping on which shall rise again from the embers the guilty man, to be judged. Therefore spare him, O God. Merciful Lord Jesus, grant them rest. Amen.
I am a musiciant, composer and writer, from italy, i just love this video, you are a great person, not many people cry hearing this music. I have a cancer, so this will be my last song. Thanks for the video!
It’s lovely to see someone so moved by Latin Hymns, I think so many years of Catholic Mass and education has taken the intensity of the impact out of it for me, sadly.
What you have been listening to, that you have been calling "Opera", is not. At least not the ones composed by Shubert, Mozart, and Beethoven. What they composed is called Classical music, as distinct from Opera. Gregorian Chants are in a category all their own. It is all beautiful, and I love that you are discovering the different worlds of music. It's such a pleasure to rediscover old favorites, whether it be Classical, Rock, or Pop through your eyes and ears.
It's so beautiful. I first really started to know about the Gregorian chant at school over 50 years ago....I love to hear your reactions to music, you really move me at times. Anyway there's a piece of music which is quite short but glorious and the two women's voices are really something...Its The Flower Duet by Sabine Devieilhe and Mariannne Crebassa...you won't be disappointed ☘️😊
This is absolutely beautiful! Now that you have been introduced to Acapella music, I would love for you to react to a group called Home Free. A good starting point would be Amazing Grace or How Great Thou Art. Although for fun, try Can't Stop the Feeling, Butts Remix or Country Fried Pop Medley. Thanks for you honest and real reactions. I love that you take the time to actually listen and feel the music.
In the Catholic faith we believe Gregorian Chants repel demons and glorify god at the same time. Personally it makes me feel like a warrior for the lord but at the same time gives me peace.
And this isn’t even all that good a recording of it! Look for some recordings from the Monks of Notre Dame de Fontgombault, or the monks of the Arch-abbey of St. Martin - Beuron. The French and German monks have a slightly different style and pronunciation of the Latin, but both are excellent. This is music whose purpose is to help lift one’s heart and souls to God.
If you're interested in how very different the same words/ideas can sound, you should check out Mozart's Dies Irae (featured in "Amadeus"... worth a watch, btw, though not, um, historically accurate. The soundtrack is worth the price of admission). Anyway ruclips.net/video/RKJur8wpfYM/видео.html
I hunted for and found this particular chant tonight, to soothe my soul ... and so found you too. Your reception of it, and reaction to it, are like a blessing... not just for me now but for the world and it's people ongoing. Thank you for the creative and soulful way you share.

The painting in the foreground is called the Judgment Day by Hans Memling, a representative of the Netherlandish Renaissance. Or the last hurrah of the Medieval Period. Jesus the Son of God is presiding over the court while Archangel Michael weighs the souls of the dead, deciding who will go to Paradise and eternal bliss and who will go to Hell and suffer everlasting torment.

Lo, the book exactly worded,
Wherein all hath been recorded,
Thence shall judgment be awarded.
Iudex ergo cum sedebit,
quidquid latet apparebit:
nil inultum remanebit.
When the Judge His seat attaineth,
And each hidden deed arraigneth,
Nothing unavenged remaineth.
Quid sum miser tunc dicturus?
quem patronum rogaturus?
cum vix iustus sit securus.
What shall I, frail man, be pleading?
Who for me be interceding
When the just are mercy needing?
Rex tremendae maiestatis,
qui salvandos salvas gratis,
salva me, fons pietatis.
King of majesty tremendous,
Who dost free salvation send us,
Fount of pity, then befriend us.
Recordare Iesu pie,
quod sum causa tuae viae:
ne me perdas illa die.
Think, kind Jesus, my salvation
Caused Thy wondrous Incarnation,
Leave me not to reprobation.
Quarens me, sedisti lassus:
redemisti crucem passus:
tantus labor non sit cassus.
Faint and weary Thou hast sought me,
On the Cross of suffering bought me,
Shall such grace be vainly brought me?
Iuste iudex ultionis,
donum fac remissionis,
ante diem rationis.
Righteous Judge, for sin’s pollution
Grant Thy gift of absolution,
Ere that day of retribution.
Ingemisco, tamquam reus:
culpa rubet vultus meus:
supplicanti parce Deus.
Guilty now I pour my moaning,
All my shame with anguish owning,
Spare, O God, Thy suppliant groaning.
Qui Mariam absolvisti,
et latronem exaudisti,
mihi quoque spem dedisti.
Through the sinful woman shriven,
Through the dying thief forgiven,
Thou to me a hope hast given.
Preces meae non sunt dignae:
sed tu bonus fac benigne,
ne perenni cremer igne.
Worthless are my prayers and sighing,
Yet, good Lord, in grace complying,
Rescue me from fires undying.
Inter oves locum praesta,
et ab haedis me sequestra,
statuens in parte dextera.
With Thy sheep a place provide me,
From the goats afar divide me,
To Thy right hand do Thou guide me.
Confutatis maledictis,
flammis acribus addictis.
voca me cum benedictis.
When the wicked are confounded,
Doomed to flames of woe unbounded,
Call me with Thy Saints surrounded.
Oro supplex et acclinis,
cor contritum quasi cinis:
gere curam mei finis.
Low I kneel with heart’s submission,
See, like ashes, my contrition,
Help me in my last condition.
Lacrimosa dies illa,
qua resurget ex favilla.
iudicandus homo reus:
huic ergo parce Deus.
Ah! That day of tears and mourning,
From the dust of earth returning,
Man for judgment must prepare him,
Spare, O God, in mercy spare him.
Pie Iesu Domine,
dona eis requiem. Amen.
Lord, all-pitying, Jesus blest,
Grant them Thine eternal rest. Amen.
EE-ray... not ear-ay
Dii ehs ii rei* Or in Classical Pronunciation: Dii ehs ii rie.
The theme appears in a lot of inspired media. Even Japanese animation had one that was very faithful to it which was Death Note: ruclips.net/video/JZt8P4l-P0w/видео.html.
It also appeared in the Nazgul theme for Lord of the Rings.
The gates to Heaven are narrow. Believe in Christ Jesus.
You might as well listen to Mozart's Requirem if you go down this road ;-)
Gregorian chants are beautiful and have a heavenly vibe (when well done).
Now imagine you hear this in a gothic cathedral somewhere in Europe. Mind-blowing!
@JBLETHAL TV. YOU'RE GREAT MAN! IVE BEEN FOLLOWING SINCE DAY ONE AND HAVE HAD ONLY ONE REQUEST MAN LOL 🙏 PLUS WE ONE DAY APART IM FEB 6TH THIS THURSDAY! 👍 IF YOU CAN REACT TO
“ BLACK” BY PEARL JAM
THE LIVE MYV UNPLUGGED VERSION FOR MY BIRTHDAY IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANK YOU BUDDY!! 👍👍🔥🔥
It's like you are entering heaven and the angels are worshiping God.
The epitome of European Christianity, in an Audio Nutshell !
Thank-You for you. You are an amazing, articulate young man. You give to each of your listeners just what they need. God Bless you.
This is pretty much where it all started. Without this sound, there would be no rock, no pop, no blues, nothing. The roots of all music.
I have a degree in music. Any time you want to learn, find your way to Kansas City and find me. I'll be HAPPY to teach you!
good and relaxing music .. 👍 when you can , react to Tomaso Albinoni - Adagio (in G minor) .. it' very good ..
1. A day of wrath; that day,
it will dissolve the world into glowing ashes,
as attested by David together with the Sibyl.
2. What trembling will there be,
when the Judge shall come
to examine everything in strict justice.
3. The trumpet's wondrous call sounding abroad
in tombs throughout the world
shall drive everybody forward to the throne.
4. Death and nature shall stand amazed
when creation rises again
to give answer to its Judge.
5. A written book will be brought forth
in which everything is contained
from which the world shall be judged.
6. So when the Judge is seated,
whatever is hidden will be made known:
nothing shall go unpunished.
7. What shall I, wretch, say at that time?
What advocate shall I entreat (to plead for me)
when scarcely the righteous shall be safe from damnation?
8. King of awesome majesty,
who to grants salvation to those that are to be saved,
save me, o fount of Piety.
9. Remember, dear Jesus,
that I am the reason for Thy journey (into this world):
do not cast me away on that day.
10. Seeking me, Thou didst sit down weary,
Thou didst redeem me, suffering the death on the Cross:
let not such toil have been in vain.
11. Just Judge of vengeance,
grant me the gift of pardon
before the day of reckoning.
12. I groan like one condemned:
my face blushes for my sins:
spare a supplicant, o God.
13. Thou who didst absolve Mary (Magdalen),
and heard the robber,
hast given me hope as well.
14. My prayers are not worthy:
but Thou, of Thy goodness, deal generously (with me),
that I burn not in the everlasting flame.
15. Give me a place among the sheep,
and separate me from the goats,
setting me on Thy right hand.
16. When the accursed have been confounded
and sentenced to acrid flames,
call me along with the blessed.
17. I prostrate myself, supplicating,
my heart in ashes, repentant;
take good care of my last moment!
18. That day will be one of weeping
on which shall rise again from the embers
the guilty man, to be judged.
Therefore spare him, O God.
Merciful Lord Jesus,
grant them rest. Amen.
I am a musiciant, composer and writer, from italy, i just love this video, you are a great person, not many people cry hearing this music.
I have a cancer, so this will be my last song. Thanks for the video!
Glad to see you still alive and uploading
I dont know why, but i believe that the Catholic Church would be the organizer mass on Heaven,...
Made me to tears first time hearing this
This is what is sung at a Traditional Catholic funeral.
You should try Verdi's version of Dies Irae. It's fire.
That music sill take you right into the center of peace.
You need to listen to Enigma... Return to Innocence... Sadness... You'll love them... So good...
Love, LOVE Gregorian Chants!
I wonder what you think about Enya and Loreena McKennitt?
I think you would really enjoy Enya!!!
Please try Pachelbel’s Canon in D. It is exquisite.
we are with ya bro
It’s lovely to see someone so moved by Latin Hymns, I think so many years of Catholic Mass and education has taken the intensity of the impact out of it for me, sadly.
The beauty of the mass and worship should never fade from your mind. I almost started crying at mass this morning.
Great content about God!
Humans are capable of creating Heaven on Earth, but the devil creeps in....
Nice!
Now you're ready for Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. The whole thing is too long for a video, but you could play the opening.
Yes, Enigma... Return to innocence!
Latín 😇
You are listening to a Christian orthodox chant and you still use God's name in vein...just STOP!!!
Please react to Verdi "Recordare",sang by Leontyne Price (soprano) and Fiorenza Cossotto (mezzo soprano) You will absolutely love it.
Yeah bro, here it’s 3 in tha morning and I like this 4 calming 🙏🏽☮️☮️☮️☮️
I hunted for and found this particular chant tonight, to soothe my soul ... and so found you too. Your reception of it, and reaction to it, are like a blessing... not just for me now but for the world and it's people ongoing. Thank you for the creative and soulful way you share.
Day of wrath and doom impending, David's word with Sibyl's blending, Heaven and earth in ashes ending.
Oh what fear man's bosom rendeth, when from heaven the Judge descendeth, on whose sentence all dependeth.
Wondrous sound the trumpet flingeth, through the earth's sepulchers it ringeth, all before the throne it bringeth.
Death is struck, and nature quaking, all creation is awaking, to its Judge an answer making, lol, the book exactly worded.
Wherein all hath been recorded, thence shall judgement be awarded.
When the judge His seat attaineth, and each hidden feed arraigneth.
Nothing unavenged remaineth, what shall I, frail man, be pleading? Who for me be interceding when the just are mercy needing?

Imagine wanting to relax listening to "Dies Irae" and you accidentally search for Dies Irae by Verdi
Man, take care yourself with so many reactions...
Load yourself with some natural sounds (birds, rain, sound of your beard wehn you are scratching etc.). Go on a walk to your nearest park.
This will heal you. If You or your subscribers would like to hear what the voice of an angel sounds like ( the most haunting, spiritual heavenly mesmerizing angelic voice sent by God just for us mortals ) then
RUclips “ Lisa Gerrard sacrifice”( click the 8:00 one posted by edgarski)
A live performance in front of about 30 lucky people in her own made up chanting language that she said was sent by an archangel from heaven and she doesn’t sing she channels the ethereal divine voice of the angel.
I know no one will recommend her but if you or your audience wants to hear a unique mesmerizing contralto voice , then Lisa’s dramatic contralto will transport you to what you can expect when you reach paradise. Voice alone with absolutely no body movement. She’s in another celestial world with her eyes mostly closed and channeling God’s world. I’m hoping you or some of you can find 8 minutes to at least privately react-especially if you need healing or are stressed during these troubled times when your spirit needs a recharge and spiritual catharsis.
I listen to this once a month and I cry and have an emotional catharsis. No one in the world has a voice like hers. When I’m on my deathbed and have 10 minutes to live, I want to be surrounded by my loved ones and hear this song.
All love in isolation.

Roman Catholic liturgy produced and inspired some of the most beautiful music ever written.
You can improve the quality of your sleep with L-Tryptophane this maybe something for you. So may you need less sleep to be recovered good luck mate.
Gregorian Chant is not in any way, shape or form, considered as Opera. The Dies Irae is usually chanted during Lent and during Funerals in the Catholic Mass.
Lift weights to the templar chants. It'll give you the strength of God.
