While Red Foxes are very adaptable and will be active when necessary they tend to sleep more during the day than at night with more activity from sunset to sunrise than during the day. This is why I said that they're *primarily* active at night, not exclusively. This is also why they have adaptations to help with hunting and scavenging at night, such as their eyes which are well suited for low light conditions like a cat. For some reason, Sophie reminds me of trying to lead animals around with food in Minecraft, when you get too far ahead and they lose interest and wander off. :-)
Wow, Makayla hasn't said a word about how frigid it is right now in Minnesota! The real feel temp on my phone last night was minus 27⁰! One of my dogs was trading off between her right and left front paws bc of of how cold it was. Being out for that length of time def requires full face covering to minimize the suffering. Walking around feeding foxes chicken while recording in the dark during these temps is impressive. I love the use of tongs, esp for feeding minks. Like you wouldn't want to put your fingers too close to chi chi's mouth during feedings with raw chicken, ha ha. Like feeding a little Tasmanian devil on amphetamines. I guess you also don't want raw chicken smell on your cold weather gloves either. That's not a smell that ever comes out.
This has to be one of the only places in the world where you see a bunch of eyes glowing in the dark and don't immediately go inside and lock your door
Have to tell you, i have three little dogs whom we adore. A miniature rat terrier, a mutt schnauzer, and our “fox” dachshund,Pomeranian, chihuahua! Named “otter”.they are 11,10 and 9 and soo loved, center of our family, kids are grown🦊 What is so fun, is, we have always chatted to them, but the whole ”Dixie doo” voice?? Hilarious! They love it!! So, thank you! And a side note, our “otter”, we call her ”the huntress “. Meek and well behaved, but fierce! Ripped a squirrel’s tail off, squirrel still comes by a looks at me and says”YOU!!” Killed a PARAKEET, shh, daughter still doesn’t know, leaves me rats on my chair.. but the sweetest thing you ever did meet.she is Merle colored, one blue eye. She has a dachshund nose and a chihuahua chin,lol. And a Pomeranian tail. And everyone loves her the best. The terrier owns me, the schnauzer owns my husband.. and Otter grabs any guest in our house as hers..love the video’s, love animal antics.. thank you!!
