It says they are in the "filming" stage on IMDB. The next stage is post-production. A few months ago, IMDB said it was in the "pre-production" stage. So maybe some concrete progress? Idk, its hard to trust IMDB. Like how do they know they are actually filming. What is the source? I would be curious to know. In any event, I am very excited for this movie. I think Mel Gibson is going to finish it. I would rather he take his time and do the greatest story ever told its proper justice.

He cannot rush it just for the sake of us wanting it. Passion will be hard to top. I remember seeing the movie to a packed house precovid where seats where crammed together and you were a sardine. There were nuns and people were crying and talk about a wave of emotion in the theater. I know I left feeling goosebumps.
Please lord let this be a True telling of your story and not just another gimmick to get people to the box office. We need this now. Phrase JESUS,phrase GOD.
This would be such a fun project to work on, you could split it over a couple of films as a trilogy. 1. The Passion of the Christ. 2. The Resurrection. 3. The Return of the Christ. The fall of the third of the angels would be epic and the arc angels. Heaven has a 70% majority over the demonic realm and heaven does not have a cost of living crisis so their light bill is fully paid. You can have alot of fun exploring the themes and realms! Mel did great with Hacksaw Ridge too, that's a must watch imo..

This will be difficult to film. Because it's physically not possible to show the colors and music of heaven in a movie. Our world is limited and so are colors in movies.
People are expecting so much from any sequel, I can understand why he would want to be sure it was done right and even perfectly and Mel already is busy with other projects he is working on.

I mean. It took James Cameron a decade to get Avatar out in theaters. And now it'll be another decade for Way of Water to come to theaters. I'd rather be patient on it so in the end. The movie comes out great story wise and visually.
My mom had probably never seen a movie as violent as passion of the Christ, but because it’s a Jesus movie, she thought in 2004, when I was 9, it would be a great idea for me to invite friends my age to go see it in theaters along with my entire church congregation who were very passionate and enthusiastic about the movie. Luckily non of my friends came and I’m sure their parents didn’t let them. Needless to say, I had a really tough time watching that film. So evident that, a woman even criticized my mother to her face, you let your kid come to a movie like this?

I feel like i could do without the extra frills. An accurate historical account taken right out of the Gospel's eye-witness testimony would be quite powerful. That would still give you the appearance of Angels, post-resurrection appearances, the ascension .... Plenty of supernatural accounts to draw on. Please refrain from too much embellishment!
