I will NOT do a cover of this sing. But I have always wanted to learn this solo and this is the video I'm going to use as an example because of the cleanliness of each notez Great job guitarist.
Super cover! Propore!!! Et quelle gratte!! Vraiment cette Red Falcon de Remige est exeptionnelle à voir et à entendre! j'imagine comment ça doit être top de l'avoir entre les mains!!
Whimsical and intrinsic cover, thanks for putting this out homeslice bread slice. I ate the ceremonial eight pound armadillo jerky with a side of pickled rabbit surströmming with the fam to this song. LOL! Great cover
I kind of agree with you about the mix. Especially the low ends are a bit too present. But it's too late now to change that. I think the guitar is still pretty audible, though.
@@Alexisdc11 How long did you practice this specific solo? (I mean you were obviously highly skilled player already so it would be interesting to know how much extra practice you needed on top of all the skills you already had.)
@@MikkoRantalainen Hi Mikko! It's really hard to say since I learnt this solo years before I recorded it. I'd say it all depends of the level of perfection you want to achieve. For a solo this hard, I'd say it would take me about 1 or 2 days to be able to play it from start to finish, and maybe 1 or 2 weeks of practice to get it really clean and fluid, maybe more. The devil lies in the details, so the more detailed and perfect you want it, the more exponentially long it will be to get it right.
@@MikkoRantalainen So, to answer your question more precisely: I wanted this video to be as perfect as possible so I actually spent many weeks practicing it. I Just can't tell how many since I do different things in my life and I went back to this solo many times.
@@Alexisdc11 Thanks for your response. It nicely highlights how big a difference there is "able to play it" and "playing it perfectly". And for "perfect" you have to decide if you're going to copy Jari, Teemu or play your own imagined version of perfect style for this solo.
I'm not even sure if it's that clean on the album, holy shit. Saw Teemu play it on Troy Grady's channel and I heard notes in your cover that were just a blur when Teemu played them. Not to say Teemu is not clean or anything - he's incredible! - but you, sir, managed to play this at least as clean as the guys in Wintersun themselves, if not cleaner. You're blowing my mind right now!
@@Alexisdc11 I bet it was a lot of effort! I've been trying to learn the sweeping part in Beyond the dark sun for years now (on and off) and still can't do it anywhere near original speed :D I'm glad this comment cheered you up! :) Do you happen to be a guitar teacher as well or do you just play?
@drabbster I do still give lessons to students who show a real interest for learning and for music. excellent et sans aucun filet de sécurité en matière de backing track :D ! je l'ai fait aussi mais pas encore au point de le jouer aussi propre que toi , quoi qu'il en soit t'a un nouvel abonné :D
Hi! You are not the first to tell me. Apparently the guitar is more or less hearable depending on which device you're listening to. Retrospectively, if I had to do the mix again, I think I would make the kick drum quieter and the guitar a bit louder. But to late for this... I hope you still enjoy!
Curious, how did you learn this solo? Tabs? Watching videos of Jari/Teemu or others on RUclips? If it was tabs, do you recall where you got them from or be able to link it? I've been working on this solo for quite a while now and I've noticed a few differences from what I am playing however I'm struggling to pick it up just by analyzing this video (and others on RUclips as well).
If it helps, I found back my original hand transcription of this solo. Enjoy: ekladata.com/JOP371A5RngtqHY8olFJdpmxUn4/Winter-madness-transcription.jpg
Thanks for your comment. It's a home made backing track. Making something near the quality of the original would have required way too much time and work. I prefer to dedicate this time to more important things like practicing guitar write music, etc.
@@Alexisdc11 Your practice truly paid off. I will commend you for making your own backing track instead of drowning out your playing with the official track. Too many people do that to mask the imperfections in their performance. You clearly don't need that as your playing is top notch.
