I love how his in ring work reflects his character, how he always puts on a great match, makes his opponent look amazing and in turn makes himself look even stronger for beating them. Top guy in WWE for sure.
Man, this is so good to hear. I recently got in shape the last few years as i JUST turned 50, and like he said, i just neglected myself. I wasn't that overweight at 240, but i decided to get in shape on a whim, and am down to 215-220 and pretty cut. Still a struggle WANTING to do it, but i feel and look great for myself. I'm also still getting used to the compliments. 😂
He carried his weight well and looked good, but i do think he looks really great now and hopefully its good for his health and longevity as well. Its crazy to see him do these interviews and just be like a nice guy

As someone who has struggled with weight issues I can identify. Despite being almost 100 pounds overweight at times, I never felt all that fat although that may be just me personally as I suffered from a spare tire while my arms and legs look normal if not skinny. I also know what Gunther is talking about when you overdo it on a meal and feel all the dieting is thrown out the window, then it becomes a slippery slope.
I completely relate. I've always been like that, overweight but athelitic. It wasn't until I joined the Army and became slimmer that I noticed I could've been even MORE athletic

@@brianhalligan9268 Agree . Think Cody will probably win the chamber match to face Roman as that seems to be their plan but Gunther beating Seth makes so much sense. Ironically he is more logical to beat Roman than Cody ....but its still WWE at end of the day .
He was billed at 297 as Walter so if he's lost 65 pounds making him 232 I'm shocked because he looks bigger than that to me. He looks great though and should be proud of the hard work he's put in.
Yeah, there's no way hes 297 now, I don't know if he's done to 232 but he's probably under 250.

The funny thing is, I don't think WWE would've looked at him twice if he wasn't the size he was back then. Dude moved incredibly well for his size. He doesn't stand out so much now, but thankfully by that point he had already proven how incredible he is in the ring that it simply doesn't matter.

He looked more dangerous before, now his limbs and his general frame are so skinny that its tough to buy him as a threat to the more massive guys with his tough guy brawler style of fighting, and his occasional top rope maneuver comes off as far less impressive too. I don't feel guys with this kind of style need to have a sixpack at all, if anything they look more legit if they are burly as well as pudgy. A sixpack would not have improved the image of a Finlay or a Harley Race, and it does not do so for Walter either.

Since when was he vegan? Just a few months ago he posted a picture of his food and it was meat in his instagram stories lol. He was probably just on it to slim down.
@@LongLostYellowRanger Yeah, I think you're right, sorry. There was some bs hearsay and a Google search shows some others saying the same thing (particularly when he was slimming down as Walter). So perhaps he tagged some food as #vegan a while back and people were misled (speculation). But yeah, nvm, sounds like you've got it spot on.

I knew he was serious about being a main event player when he lost the weight. Not everyone can pull off being fat. He still looked menacing when he was fat but if want the strap on WWE, you can’t look like a guy who pumps gas.
