Thank you, I know quite a lot of pros are in a similar situation with the money side of things. Struggling to compete, so I thought I’d show what it’s like just trying to even make it to the tournaments and some creative ways to sustainably play on the tour. Don’t get me wrong I’m still in a really fortunate position being able to pursue something I love 💪

It makes me realise how lucky I am here in Gijón in the north of Spain. Really good indoor courts with lights at 6.10€ an hour, outdoor clay courts 2.70€. City council facilities but really well maintained. Can't afford the 3000 euro entry fee it would cost to join the big tennis club here, but having one to one private lessons for 20€ an hour with a really decent coach. Needless to say, my level is much much lower than Sean (4.5 NTRP), but it keeps me in good shape for an amateur league and to hopefully enter a few federated tournaments this year.

Great video. You play a bit like Lajovic. Tennis is such unforgiving sport and its great to see all aspects of it even before you get to competition.
You ever thought about moving diagonally fwd into you're volleys rather than just fwd? - Or has this footwork been superseded in the pro game? Edberg was the best volleyer of all time and his footwork on the volley would be diagonally fwd. It builds in a natural shoulder turn and as a result the racket takeback can be far more compact and less 'just arm'. Be interesting to hear what you think.
    keep up the good work.

    • @seanplaystenis

Won't be that much - more like £200 per month given that he's based in Yorkshire. If anything, it works out ALOT cheaper given that it includes gym, sauna, pool + indoor/outdoor tennis courts etc, and he can travel around the UK and use their various clubs without having to pay extra. Makes alot more sense than hiring individual courts each time.
