I have more Pagani watches than common sense, but they keep releasing awesome spec monster watches for the price of a McDonalds-meal-for-four, so I find it hard to resist them. I tend to go for their fixed bezel watches though. Rocking my PD-1701 as I'm typing this. I should stay away from your upcoming 11.11 video as I don't need any more watches! :)
I cant help myself either, at these prices, you can flip them for fun! I do regularly wear my PD1644 which is timeless. As for 11.11, go on, you know you want to…lol . Thanks for watching!
I agree with your observations, could not resist buying this one too, I got the black & orange one, there is a textured effect on the black dial which is cool. I hated the strap tbh, just couldn't get the right fit & prefer it on a nato, the watch is a bit too thick & that helium valve just shouldn't be on it. It's pretty stupid though that we (me) now criticise minor things on a £40 watch with very good spec, value for money on this one is brilliant. Thanks All the best
Upon receipt and initial inspection I was on the fence. After wearing watch for a few days I feel in love. I am impressed with rotating bezel. Outside ring knurling aids it making ring rotation easy. The bezel rotation is excellent. Great watch, this is a keeper!
There is nothing wrong with that watch. The case and crystal are mode than adequate, the dial is nice enough and even the belt is good enough. Makes you wonder what the +/- 500 quid watches do better. Surely the lume. I still have to see one Pagani with a good lume. But apart from that? I have decided to stock up on the watches that I like, but not from the name brands, but from Pagani. I now have 12 and there isn’t a single dud.And if I lose one, break one … I will not freak out, but order a replacement. Or two. Or three.
The lume is normally the only deficiency on PD watches, I have had many (not a surprise) and they are always spec monsters for the money, the 1644 is as good as any other Daytona homage out there. Some of the 500+ watches do sport better more expensive movements (PD stick with nh35 and Seiko mecaquartz movements) but the NH35 is a fantastic budget movement. Clearly PD spend their money on photocopiers rather than a design team, but there are plenty of more expensive brands doing that too. A lot of watch for not much currency… thanks for watching
I have this watch and I could not wear it because of the strap. It's too stiff and feels like hard plastic more than rubber, with no micro adjustment, I could not find a good fit. It was either too tight or too loose. I put it on a bracelet and now it's one of my favorite watches, looks better too IMHO. Mine has perfect bezel alignment, but the bezel is a bit loos and turns too easily. I will find it has moved when worn with sleeves, like a jacket. I have the black and orange one, just my preferred color, but I think it's very well done. Got mine on the 11:11 sale and can't complain much for the price beyond the strap, loose bezel and of course the not so great lume Pagani is unfortunately known for.
How do they do it? Crazy value. Saying that Pagani lume is always disappointing, if they fixed that I'd probably buy more of their watches. PS I hate butterfly clasps too!
I picked up the orange version for only $42us! I really like it, didn’t like the deployment style either so I changed to a nato strap. Much better! I’m tempted to get another color because it’s such a bargain.
I bought the Black & Orange variant. Same price. It was an absolute bargain IMO. Keeps great time. No QC issues. 1) The painted Orange detail on the Bezel is an improvement over the Rubber inserts on the genuine Omega PO IMO. I've seen examples where the Rubber has discoloured/got grubby and it looks awful on such an expensive watch. 2) Lume is typically poor on PD watches and this is no exception. If Steeldive & Addiesdive can offer great lume, PD should be able to 3) Helium escape valve has no purpose on a 100m Water Resitance watch - only useful for Saturation Divers (600m). Probably cosmetic only anyway... 4) The exhibition case back is Mineral Glass and probably contributes to the (low) 100M water reistance. Agreed that exhibition case back is a bit of a waste of time with the NH35A - a decorated rotor (a'la Invicta) might have improved matters. 5) Resin strap is OK, if a bit inflexible at the lug area. This causes the watch to sit higher on my wrist than needs be (YMMV). The deployment clasp works well but has some rather sharp inner corners (I took a file to mine). Strap was also a bit tight to get on and off my hands when adjusted for wrist size. I give up and fitted a Speedmaster style bracelet - Job Done!
A funny watch for sure! ...the valve keeps trigger me, but what I could be disappointed for that price? I will choose another color scheme, it's the only complain I have. In your opinion, what's the best Pagani Design watch actually? One hommage and one original design.
I'd agree that the Pagani Design PD1644/1664 Rolex Daytona homage is one of the best watches PD produce. However, the PD1701 V3 Speedmaster "Moonwatch" homage is also rather fabulous - especially the classic Black face/White hands combo. Forget the "MonnSwatch" get a PD1701. Both use the same Quartz movement and better water resitance than the original watches.
As you say, it's a great watch for the money! Nice review👍 .I'm tempted to buy the new version of the Barny titanium field watch with a full lume dial in the salee
@@gorillasinthewrist Yes, I think it is the same case and movement, just new dial and hands. I think it may be small for me, so far too small for your wrist.
Almost. The Red/White/Blue reviewed here is loosely based on the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Americas Cup 2021 edition. Black & Orange is almost an exact copy of the Omega SM PO it's based upon
@@ThePedroDB yup, I still like the fine details like the americas cup on the hand and also the strap is better on the original. Of course it costs a lot lot more.

Didn’t know about the textured dial, would have picked that one if I’d known. It’s a bit of fun for 40 quid which works for me. Thanks for watching!
I picked this one up second hand for $20 and I love it! Thanks for the great review.
Thanks Kris, all well? 20 bucks makes this bargain of the day! Thanks for watching
