I’m glad you said it shot better with the CCI ammo. My first one shot about 8” at 25 yards the replacement shoots about 1/2”. Always test your equipment right away no matter who made it.
Me too. This shot as bad or worse than 8" straight out of the box testing. More than any other 22LR rifle I've tested, this one needed to be seasoned to get any decent groups.
Great video, BCA makes great products for a fair price, I have had great results with BCA. As much as I love the CMMG conversion, the BC-22 is more accurate.
Thanks for revealing and demonstrating this upper. I suppose the 10rd mags are to satisfy California's draconian laws.😒 Personally, I've never be interested in a rimfire version of this weapon. But it does give the opportunity to those without a dedicated rimfire rifle the ability to work with an existing weapon they already own. I can easily see the advantage. 👍 Being an older sort, I enjoy shooting 22s in a pump rifle with the ability to shoot S, L, and LR with nothing to change or adapt. Just old school I guess. 😏
Pump 22lr reminds me of going to the carnival as a kid. And yes they do make 25rnd mags. But I had to stress the 10rnd in the video because RUclips is so anti 2A
I own a Tippman m4 22 and from the reviews on RUclips of the BCA uppers and full rifles in rimfire cartridges I’d prefer the Tippman. Compared to the BCA upper the Tippman is a dedicated .22 Lr rifle however many parts of it are still milspec. It functions just like a regular Ar with a charging handle and has a functional forward assist last round bolt hold open even when the magazine is out of the gun.
@@Moondog2A Yes and it can be changed out with an all metal ambidextrous charging handle too from their website, however it is not able to be interchanged between standard milspec 5.56 rifle charging handles because the BCG is different on the Tippman.
@Moondog2A I've been considering both options for quite some time, but it's hard to find good information. Most people say "it's good enough for plinking" but that doesn't say much, and honestly it would be nice to have an ar platform 22 that was decently accurate.
My guess is the side chargers were the "cool" thing for a while. I don't see the cost savings by going side charge. Same BCG, only nano savings in on a cheap charging handle. That's maybe 7$ from the builders perspective. Most of the Tacticools replace the charging handle to some ridiculously over priced war hammer or some such corny name.
@@texas66 Come on texas, that's being really nit picky for no reason. How hard is it to slap a few tools in your range bag? Mine always has a few just in case
I purchased this upper 2 years ago and the bolt is total CRAP. The bolt neither feeds reliably or extracts reliably. the range session in which I used this upper I had too many jams to count but what really got me pi__ed is I had two detonations out of battery and it's not the ammo ( 40gr hi speed aquila). I have two other AR type builds using cmmg bolts with cmmg barrels and they function great and are extremely reliable. All you have to do lay the BCA bolt next to the cmmg bolt to see why. I have many other stories about BCA crap in 300 blk and 7.63x39.
@@Moondog2A for the complete BCA 22. Lr rifle off of their website it is $492 I fortunately got my Tippman m4 Elite GOA edition for only $650 compared to about $670 on their website, it is worth the money.
How long until the Bear Creek haters show up saying what a POS everything they make is???? LOL I bought several of their uppers back in 17 and 18. Not a single issue and with decent ammo they're all under 2 MOA. With cheap junky ammo, groups open up. I'm strictly a range only user and they are perfectly fine for shooting steel and paper out to 600. I'll leave all the Gucci stuff for others. Thanks for a good review Moon
give it about an hour or less. but god forbid one of the gucci guns or parts has a defect or issue because all the fudds come out of the woodwork to defend the gucci brands and make all the excuses in the world as to why said gucci brand is still the best. oh well, at least they help keep prices down for now!

Thanks for the introduction. I wouldn't have gotten one to test if not for you yelp.
My friend has several BC guns, all of them are amazing. He also said their customer service is top notch when he lost them in a boating accident.
Tragic about that boat. It's happened to so many of us.

Great content. Had to feed the algorithm lol. 👍👍
Thanks for doing that
The question is, is this better than a conversion kit, which is small enough to stuff in a pocket if need be?
For accuracy at 100yrds, yes the 16:1 twist should make it more accurate than an AR conversion bolt. I should do a comparison.

Depends on what your accuracy requirements are. This has better accuracy at ≥50yrds than a CMMG bolt conversion.
I wonder why they didn’t want to have traditional AR charging handle and opted for the reciprocating side charger. I guess the question is the cost.

@@Moondog2A the uppers i bought many years ago from BCA all have tradition rear charging handles
It's only a 22lr, at least BC could have used a detent retained charging handle so tools are not required for cleaning disassembly.
