Well, one of Kratos' struggles in being a good father is that he doesn't want him to be like him. I mean, he would be proud in that he can defend himself, but being a badass in this series is being a genocidal maniac 9 times out of 10.

The life of a Spartan is ruthless especially when training to be one, praise would probably be the barest acknowledgment of your success and comforting someone is equally rare. Him having to express his love and concern in an open way is just difficult for him.
I love the way the meaning "Come here Boy, Stay there Boy, Sit down Boy, Stand up Boy" changes from a father trying to keep his distracted boy in check to actual lessons on how to fight via the animation. And then they change to "Get them Boy, Dead them Boy, Smash them Boy, Slay them Boy", essentially changing from Learning to Experienced.

Now, looking back on this, it has me excited for the DLC that comes out tomorrow. I am happy with this though still and always much appreciation towards the people that were in this mashup it is stil phenomenal.

This is probably my FAVORITE track by you! The progression of Atreus growing in both age and skill through the game is CLEARLY displayed through your lyrics, especially the chorus (and the scheme “Sins of the father, Sins of the son, but he can’t know the things that I’ve done! So I’m running from the man that I was and the one he’s becoming” gave me SHIVERS). But my favorite part, and one that I haven’t seen anyone else mention, is at 1:25 when the sun and moon are circling in the sky - so does your voice. That wraparound in the headphones had me standing in Atreus’ shoes with you (Kratos) walking circles around me as I’m training just going BOY!

My dad looked like a ginger kratos. He had much physical and mental damage. At this stage of my life I feel like kratos. I have the same build as my dad and a lot of likenesses. But I feel like Atreus. I don't have anyone to look up to anymore. All of my elders are dead and I'm only 36. When I look in a mirror I see him. I have got to be better. This is probably my FAVORITE track by you! The progression of Atreus growing in both age and skill through the game is CLEARLY displayed through your lyrics, especially the chorus (and the scheme “Sins of the father, Sins of the son, but he can’t know the things that I’ve done! So I’m running from the man that I was and the one he’s becoming” gave me SHIVERS). But my favorite part, and one that I haven’t seen anyone else mention, is at 1:25 when the sun and moon are circling in the sky - so does your voice. That wraparound in the headphones had me standing in Atreus’ shoes with you (Kratos) walking circles around me as I’m training just going BOY!
And yes, I know Shao’s saying “War” in that section. It doesn’t change the visual it creates in my head though

I can't count how many times I've watched or listened to this. Im not much of a fan of rap but i absolutely love this.
My dad looked like a ginger kratos. He had much physical and mental damage. At this stage of my life I feel like kratos. I have the same build as my dad and a lot of likenesses. But I feel like Atreus. I don't have anyone to look up to anymore. All of my elders are dead and I'm only 36. When I look in a mirror I see him. I have got to be better. All he wanted to do was good even though he experienced so much evil. Keep fighting. Be good. Do good. I will keep fighting for every single person regardless of religion, race , and creed.
