I pre-ordered it. The surprise aspect and the mosaic reminded me of the reverse in a $1.4 million auction of a Bansky painting in 2018. After the winning bid, the painting started to shred and roll 3/4 the way out of the bottom of the frame on the wall to the surprise of everyone. It instantly made the painting more valuable.
Phill is genius when it comes to design, just preordered yesterday, thanks for making this „intro“ so that he gets the praise and success he well deserves 👍🏻
Thank you Craig for taking the time to talk this project through in such detail with me, and also for the ridiculously hype title for the video, lol. The answer is no btw, because the greatest close-up trick ever is Ammar's Little Hand.
A winner! It's ordered, look forward to performing it in my close up set. Thanks for the upload and good luck with this project.
Being a huge fan of picture decks, I ordered this immediately.
I really want to love this. But don't you think the second you show the stuffed animal picture the average person will immediately think "That's the face of the dog"?
This is a good point but it's also kind of how the trick works - in performance when I'm taking the cards out I tell the punters that I'm looking for cards that I think have the same kind of feel, or familiar aspects. There are certain cards that are unmistakably similar, the centre of the rose card for example is a rolled up piece of sliced ham, and it of course looks just like the middle of a rose, as well as being the exact same colour - but this is the point, the audience will go, damn that looks like the rose, he actually is getting there. The same with the plushie face - it does kind of look like the dog's face, but in my experience audience's kind of discount this because it's very obvious that it *isnt* the card they picked, so they skate past it.
I hope this makes sense, you brought up a good point. Part of building an effect like this, completely aside from the technical challenge of making the images, is building a performance context that it makes sense in. It may be that the kind of ambiguity that I like to incorporate into my stuff doesn't suit your performances, and that's great, that difference in approach is what makes magic an art rather than just a bunch of card tricks that don't mean anything.
@@phillsmith5655 Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I will buy the deck and try it out.
Earlier today, I was considering the purchase of the mentalism effect "Cinemental," which happens to feature a deck also designed by Phil Smith. The artist behind these decks is undoubtedly quite clever.
The new trailer was intriguing and pleasantly surprising. Thank you for sharing this upcoming release.
Every release Phill has brought to the magic community is a must buy. Preorder In. Last interview Craig did with Phill was on the special Inexplicable Thrift Store Find.
What a great trick.
I like this! Even if it's not something you're going to do at every table at a gig, it's worth it for when you do. We'll done Phil Smith!
Cool trick, but as a worker it’s just ok, the circumstances needed to perform it are rarely met.
Good point, the practicalities of laying out a 9 card spread that everyone can see are real if you are doing tables at a restaurant or a wedding or whatever - I have a little JM Authentics shuffle pad that the 9 card spread fits really neatly on vertically so as long as I've got a 30cm x 22cm space I can do it, plus having the rigid pad means I can kind of angle up the spread to make the display more visible. But even without that you can usually figure out a space to work it. But yes, if you work entirely from your pockets and hands, then it's going to be a tough one to incorporate into your set!
Smith cards are amazing all the hard work he does absolutely brilliant stuff definitely his Marked cards are the best
It’s brilliant absolutely he saw his trailer for it brilliant Fusion the pictures cards 🔥🔥👍
Would love to see a combo of this deck and snaps!
Took the plunge - looks great 🙂
Ohhhhhh boy!
Ordered. Sounds great.
Wow
It could be! until the next one comes along.
Is the reveal always the dog, or are different outcomes possible?
You Always says that Craig there's a lot of better trick or all Time now😂😂😂
