• In My Time Of Dying-Le...
sorry for the edit it would of been BLOCKED!
Definitely one of my most favorite Led Zeppelin songs. I even have it on "Self Radio" in GTA 5.
You can't beat John "Bonzo" Bonham on those drums. He's the drummer even the best aspire to be like. Jimmy Page on guitars... man, he's a master and a genius, and have that nasty funk on this song with a bit of that slide guitar on it. Robert Plant... what a voice! John Paul Jones, he brought that bass like a boss!
the slide guitar!, the drums! the bassline! the lyrics! the vocals! oh my!!!!!!
Fucking epic. They just ruled and Jimmy Page is a God among geniuses. Just greatness and beyond, the band was
Find a dart. Tape a list of their tracks on the wall. Throw the dart and land on a good track. I freakin love this band and I'm glad you've found them and enjoy them. I'm a few years too young to have seen them, but they get better over time.
Since you mentioned depression, I feel you girl. My mother is fully bi-polar and I've been trying to avoid it for years. I'm also a minister at this point. I've been struggling with depression since I was 14 and I'm now 41. I won't tell you it gets easier, but I will tell you that there are more people in this world that love you, than you have any idea. If you get down, call somebody. If you can't think of anyone to call, live stream. There are over forty two thousand people that would love to cheer you up. And a couple douche bags, but we ignore those.
Love you girl! Hang in there.
Yes
Yes indeed, James. We love you India! Thanks for being you.
@@gsxrkz I've been trying to think of other bands for which that might be true, but the closest I can come up with is the Beatles. They're absolutely great, but even I don't like everything they did. Zep was just on fire from day one and never let up until somebody died. Quite the track record.
@@gsxrkz Fair enough. Nothing wrong with Floyd, certainly. I love what they do, but I only really love three or four albums. I think it's fair to say that there will never be another band like Zep. They weren't really around for that long, but they put out a ton of albums that were all great. I think the musical landscape has changed to the point where that's no longer possible.
@@gsxrkz Dang right.
Even tho this song has a sad meaning to it it still rocks the house and Jimmy Page delivers some killer licks here 🎸🤘
Matthew Wiersma sad? It’s about going to meet Jesus...man that is the be all and end all!
I'm not so sure this is as much Jimmy Page as John Paul Jones if you watch the live concert From the House of the Blues. Everyone contributed but JPJ nails the pedal steel, some sources list him as playing more than what the record shows. Just a curiosity. It is a great tune regardless. Bob Dylan released this earlier and it is a traditional blues song. Blind Willie Johnson released a recorded version in 1927. Much like The House of the Rising Sun was a traditional tune played by the early pioneers of our modern music. You could use Whiskey in the Jar as an extreme example as it was supposed to have been verified from as far back as the mid 17th century and still going and growing and every version is new. John Bonham always killed it on drums, Headley Grange under the stairwell.
Yep.. stomp is #1 for me. Greatest song about a love for a dog ever written.
John Bonham is killing the drums on this track ....
He must’ve been fucking exhausted at the end
Bonzo killed the drums on every song he touched
John Paul Jones is very underrated on this song. The bass line is crazy in this.
There is no doubt that zep had all kinds of talent. John Paul Jones bass lines, Robert Plants vocals are crisp soul touching. I am a huge guitar fan so Jimmy is top of my list.
Led Zeppelin drums drove there music. It is the main reason they never got past his passing.
Bonham beat the drums like they owed him money, man
I love that staggered drumbeat in the main part of the song. It sounds like someone limping, dragging themselves to their death.
Me too. The odd beats link up with what Page is doing on the guitar and it's brilliant.
Like Bonham is playing lead.....bass drum. 😂🙏🏼😂 Unreal.
It says a lot that you recognized just how significant the drumming is on this song (as it is on most all Zeppelin songs), as Bonzo was truly the heart and soul of this once-in-a-lifetime band
The best ever
Led Zeppelin rules and this is one of their best tracks !!
You were one of the first reaction channels I was exposed to, I have continued to watch your channel for it's genuine reactions. Keep it up even when you don't feel like it. You keep a smile on my face and many other people as well. To bring a smile to people is worth more than any money fame or prestige. Be happy sweetheart you have many followers who love what your doing 😉
who remembers the album cover where you could open the windows on the building to reveal pictures?
Hah I got the record and found it out.
DCG: I worked for WEA Records (New Oxford St) and had a copy of this early '75, time and some substances might of stirred the chronological pot but i'm sure the windows opened on the cover then. Oh, you have opened a window now.......those were the days.........
Yeah, not as much fun as rearranging the tracks and continuety links so that the whole thing kinda makes Leds only concept album, give it a go , you'll need a lap top n some basic mixing n editor soft ware though, Did you have in through the out door on vynl? You could apply a damp sponge to the ''inner' to reveal a color picture
Hell yes I have it now
Got my copy November 1975.
Love this song. One of my favorite Zeppelin tracks... which is usually what I say after every Zeppelin song. ;)
Just want to let you know your reactions usually add a bit of brightness to my day. I enjoy the diverse spectrum that you present on your channel.
Hoping this comment might give your day a little light in return.
Keep strong young lady. People care about you.
I, for one, am really glad that you keep on going. Thanks for sharing yourself with all of us. Love you India!
Enjoyed your reaction to this awesome tune...... don't let depression get the best of you......we all get that way sooner or later but the gift of music is truely a healer..... keep on keeping on my friend
A relatively obscure but epic Zeppelin tune... and one of my favorites. I love John Bonham's drums on this song. I have a hard tine refraining from playing the "air drums" to this song. I especially love the drums right after they stop and Plant songs "Oh My Jesus" a bunch of times before Bonham comes in with those slow triplets. From there until the end is just awesome.
I think it's so incredible that it was recorded in one live take with very little over-dubs. I'm sorry to hear that you feel like shit sometimes. Most people do, but are embarrassed or ashamed to admit to it. They put on a front. Always be true and honest with yourself and others. People shouldn't feel bad for feeling bad. I just came across your channel and have binge watching you all day. Stay strong.
This song is my favorite led zeppelin song. Jimmy just shreds that guitar.
Rebel5012 the drums make this son imho
I have the vinyl! Thanks for choosing an awesome tune. We old guys appreciate it.
Yes I get depressed , but deep down I’m chicken... or I just want to hang out see what’s next! And yes I love Led Zeppelin!
well i'm prayin' for you little sister...i became aware of zeppelin around 13 yrs. of age in the early '70's and i am so damn happy to see you younger folks discovering some of the best of my generation
I love how moved you are by this song. Everyone should be.
Oh that slide guitar and drums, with Roberts vocal is the cherry on top. Led Zeppelin has so many different sides to them they aren't one dimensional. Girl keep doing what you are doing and God bless.
I know how ya feel little sister I've been listening to The Mighty LED ZEPPELIN over 40's years and when I'm feeling depressed or down n out I listen to them. They put so much energy and feeling n hard work into their ya can't feel nothing but good after listening to it. So you chill my young sister, you n yours be safe n peace n love to all. 😎✌🤪🌈
Stay strong! Just know you put smiles on of a lot of faces!
I like your review of this song. LZ has been my musical influence for 42 years. Being a guitar player for all of those years the same, a bit longer Jimmy Page is THE virtuoso guitarist of my all time.
So many acclaimed guitarists EVH for one may he rest in peace were influenced by Page.
Led Zeppelin is so great of the British rock scene.
I was impressed that a young lady and yourself would click with this type of sound.
No implication of any... just simply not to expect from your generation and a young female.
But, I must say it's definitely refreshing to know that someone digs this song.
Over the prior years when I would always listen to this song I nev knew how to interpret it.
This was in the times before internet and not easy to check out the lyrics. I now understand what the lyrics are since recent years of ease of gathering information online.
I am a God fearing man and believe in my Lord Jesus Christ.
Ms. India, try not to be sad, depressed as you mentioned towards the end of the video.
Believe in Gods only begotten son Jesus Christ and he will deliver you from the torments that are thrown at us in this fallen world.
There is no reason to be depressed once we accept Jesus as our Lord.
Be well and Believe.
My #1 LZ song...it even taught me to play with a slide! Cool open tuning too.
What do I think of Led Zeppelin? They're only one of my favorite bands of all time. Seriously, their music changed my whole perspective..just an awesome band. Btw, I've been watching a few of your videos. You put a lot of thought and perspective into them so I'm subscribing :)
Love Led Zeppelin! Thanks for reacting!!!
Hang in there, Sister, we luv ya!
Any Zeppelin is good stuff.
I like that you keep it real. It's rare to fall in love for a song at the spot
Dear India, thank you for being who are, for sharing with us your passion for music, for always being honest, in spite of all the suffering. A couple of hours ago I was with a dear friend who has depression. All her life has had ups and downs, she feels the same, about not waking up, not facing the world. She is being through a lot at the moment. Have met so many friends who had a bipolar or deep anxiety problems, I myself have general anxiety. I would really like to do more, but I can only listen and show them I'm there for them, whenever they need. You are not alone my friend and, even if so many times it must be really difficult, I am sure there will always be people you can lean on. Also trust that God will always be there, may He bless you.
This is not an easy song, but it's brilliant! Take care and thank you for being such a true person, for being you.
Being vulnerable, CAN, help you survive...
sometimes, the "strong' snap in two, or, go crazy.
so, no, the ''strong", don't always survive. hope you feel well.... :)
In the live version, Robert Plant asks Gabrial if he has ever had his horn blown. LOL. And at one point Page plays the guitar like he is pleasuring himself.
Inspired by the Blind Willie Johnson version from 1927, which was also a slide guitar song.
India, thank you for your honesty. Stay strong and God bless.
Needed this today!!❤ thank you
no thank you
India listen to "In the Light" and "Kashmir" from the same album as this. They are both very spiritual and uplifting. And all out good times "Boogie With Stu." It's all on Physical Graffiti.
Oh ya , they had all these different atmospheric vibes going on as well on this album. Kashmir ? Never saw that coming. You never knew what to expect from Zeppelin from album to album. Page was a visionary musical mastermind imo
Keep the faith, beautiful. We're all flawed and working at it. God bless!
Hell Yeah they put there own Lil Spin on this Song🎶 It's the MIGHTY LED ZEPPLIN!!🎸 And they ALWAYS bring the THUNDER!!⚡
Bonzo's drums on this song are a force of nature. One of the best tracks on my favourite Led Zeppelin album.
Mr.Bonham's finest work.
Oh my JESUS! HALLELUJAH Brother!
See, there you go again India!Check out some of Zeppelin's blues "Trampled under foot","I'm gonna crawl","Since I've been loving you",or "I can't quit you baby". keep up the good work!
when I was a teanager back in the 70s the record stores would have a turntable behind the cash they would play the newest records on they would have a little stand they would prop up the cover so you could see what was playing. That's where I first heard this I bought it right away it was a bit expensive because it was a double album $12. new Led Zeppelin I couldn't pass that up it was a great time to be a fan of that kind of music.
Oh thanks😊 what you shared at the end was real! You are awesome! Lets be chat buddies. I completely realate..... genuine stuff you shared. Struggles real
He, he, he, India, you dived into the deep end of the Led Zeppelin pool! Not without a paddle though, as your comment before the edits shows. At any rate, might I suggest starting with "Good Times, Bad Times" from Led Zeppelin's first album?
Every led zep album is like greatest hits...enjoy...
Hey beautiful young lady I just stumbled upon your show washed your reaction to inside looking out by Grand Funk I was 17 years old the first time I heard that song In My Time of Dying is what they are playing when I spread my ashes. I know this is a year old keep up the good work I love your shit I love you reaction you're an awesome young lady.
Yep
This is some crazy ass deep down old south Mississippi blues shit. It’s crazy good.
Followed, this is my favorite led zeppelin song 🤘🤘🤘
Pure genius.
My absolute favorite LZ song
❤️🥁🎤🎸
What you need to understand is Led Zeppelin as much as I fucking love them brought the music of Dockereys and the deep rooted southern plantations to the mainstream. Blind willie Johnson wrote this ballad and many others. The stones, zeppelin and Dylan all borrowed music that couldn’t be copyrighted and became famous for a sound that was created in the hardest living conditions of the 20th century. The sad part is that anyone who replicates this is automatically sued by bands like zeppelin even when the music isn’t theirs to begin with. Now on a lighter note I thank Gd that this music was brought back to life and mastered for the masses to enjoy. Yet, before you go singing the praises of zeppelin or any one of else understand the undying love these bands from Dylan to Nirvana had for artists like blind lemon Jefferson- Sun House. Long live the Delta Blues it’s in all honesty the music of America
I think the guy's name was Blind Willie Johnson.....a black blues singer back in the 1930s, who did something with the same title.....though most of the words were different. There are recordings of him doing it on RUclips.
Sweetie, go talk to someone, a professional. You might have issues from childhood or some other time. I needed help from my horrendous childhood. I couldn't deal with it on my own and with therapy I understand now that my parents didn't want to be parents and it wasn't my fault. Please talk to someone and try to get at what's dragging you down. You can't help anyone if you don't get yourself healthy first. Love and best wishes, India. 😘
You take care of yourself. It’s not selfish to do that. I feel like that every single morning. I never want to fall asleep because I don’t want to face the next day. I too find solace in music. I rage with Nine Inch Nails (reading the lyrics is a must) and cheer myself up with the Grateful Dead and Bob Marley. It is impossible for me to feel sad or angry listening to them. Find some music that props up your spirit when you’re having a hard time propping it up. Rock on! ♥️
in the light, same album Zeppelin
"Down by the Seaside" too.
The whole album is so brilliant, every vibe possible they could create is on there. One of the best double albums of all time, a mix of newer tracks plus older songs they had in their back pocket. The end result is awesome, a must have for all rock fans to have in their collection
This is the most righteous song Ive ever heard.
India
We are watching and supporting you from all over the world. I hope something fabulous happens to you soon
@India Reacts Thanks for your videos! Be safe young lady and remember that you are loved!
Currently my favorite song at first I didn't even realize what I was listening to then I heard the lyrics and since have been playing it as an ode to all those passing away either from the virus or other causes.
Most groups will put out say 80 songs. Out of the 80 there may be 6 to 10 really good songs. Even the super groups maybe 15-20. LED Zeppelin has 6-10 songs that aren’t played on the radio.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESS!!!!
Good reaction, deep, intelligent.
Those drums are fucking sick. You are beautiful : )
blows back my hair every time
This is one of my all time favorite songs I'm 27 btw use to do drive and drink to this back in school
India you take care young lady you’ve got a whole life ahead of you and I promise the sun will shine again. 🙏
Listen to the drums. Incredible
The GREATEST Band walked this Earth !!
damn, hang in there girl
You are amazing! God wants us to hear you!
Great analysis of the song!!!
As people keep suggesting, I also strongly recommend 'In the Light '. It's on the same album, 'Physical Graffiti', and should help massage the bad out of your head. Great song for headphones.
Another gem off that album ! Imo every track is genius, perfect showcase of the band at its most ultimate
Greatest song ever!!!
It's quite simple.....it's blues !! You either feel it or you don't.
God bless you, you gorgeous energy
That track will grow and grow on ya girl
"Oh Gorgina"
My favorite Zep tune! Bonzo lays down some beats in this tune!😎
We love you India, stay strong and stay positive.
I want this song played at my funeral
Yeah good choice 😉👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
A Led Zeppelin song can't be interrupted that often
Blind Willie Johnson
For more deep cuts, try The Battle of Evermore, Gallows Pole or Going to California. Honestly, there are no bad tracks. Some are just more out of this world than others. But this song shows off Bonham’s drums and of course Jimmy Page’s slide guitar. They’re all awesome.
Stay Strong India - It cannot be easy being a single mom. When I get down, I go outside in nature, like a park or the woods and take a walk and meditate.
Best band ever....
Hi India! I wish you well. You mentioned being bi-polar, are you prescribed any medication for it? It seems to really help some people. I like your channel very much and hope you feel better.
A real reaction , zep rules. Love those eyes. I'm bipolar too , its just a thing life goes on , dont fo meds bipolar can be managed by your knowledge of it and your mind , sweet thing !!!
You should know that about 6 or 7 different blues singers, beginning in the 1920s, sang variations of this same song first. Like many songs by Zeppelin, the lyrics, in addition to the music, come from blues singers at the dawn of recorded music. This is African American music from the south reinterpreted by 4 British white lads with a taste and talent for American blues. For whatever reason dozens if not hundreds of British bands in the 60s and 70s played a heavy style of American blues, soul and r&b. Zeppelin just happened to be one of the best and most popular of them.
Technically this song is a live recording..It was recorded live in the studio, no individual tracks..Just goes to show how brilliant they were..
The guitar solos are overdubbed.
This song always reminded me of the funeral parades in New Orleans. sober and somber one minute then celebrating the Lord and life as with wild abandon. I doubt my family will allow it, but I'd love to have this played at my funeral, bring some energy instead the same ol', same ol'.
Robert Plant - Big Log
Florian Cojocaru
The whole album kicks ass but yeah, Big Log is pure magic
Watch the live version until the end ruclips.net/video/xTrQ7vUZsIo/видео.html
Gotta do "Since I've Been Loving You" !
God bless you India 💕🕊🌹
Please do the Bob Dylan version too!
A very deep song!
In The Light
So much can change in a years/weeks time. Find the song inside you and hum it when in doubt my friend.
The wing lyrics you mention are in the older versions aswell. Yes it's good lyrics, Zeppelin doesn't get credit for those them.
