We saw the ABBA Voyage show in London a couple of months ago. It is mind-blowing and indescribable--as close as you could get to witnessing them live in their prime. But the show doesn't try to just re-create another time, it is very futuristic-leaning as well, with groundbreaking technology. Incredible lighting effects fill the arena. It feels like you're inside some amazing video game, not just watching it. You guys should go.

Of course both have solo albums! Frida has "Something's Going On" (1982, recorded and released when she still was in ABBA, for me a hint they might go separate ways back then, the single "There's Something Going On" came just before ABBA's "The Day Before You Came"!) and "Shine" (1984) - for me the first is brililant, both albums are more on the rock side. Agnetha has even more: "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" (1983, my favourite, very poppy), "Eyes Of A Woman" (1985,almost as good), "I Stand Alone" (1987,too "American" for me), "My Colouring Book" (2004, her favourite songs from her youth, very nostalgic) and "A" (2013, surprisingly contemporary).

'A' has got one of her finest recordings as close to Abba as can be.The post disco bomb 'Dance your pain away'.Also fromthe' I Stand Alone' album the powerpop- rock ballad 'The Last time' is astonishing.Frida's 'I know there's something' is her shining 'Phil Collins moment.(though for me i love both her solo works)

Phil Collins produced Frida’s big solo hit ‘I Know There’s Something Going On’ in 1982 - immediately after the Visitors album. (She produced two albums between 1982 and 1984.) Agnetha produced five solo albums in the years after Visitors. She had several hit songs, mainly in Europe. Her biggest solo hit was probably ‘If I Thought You’d Ever Change Your Mind’ in 2004 (originally recorded by Cilla Black).

i do not fancy their live version too much, but as videos there are some really good ones: Why Did Have To Be Me from 1977, Summer Night City from 1979 tour for example.... frida had 2 swedish album in 1971 and 1975 more or less "before" ABBA and one very interesting one in 1996 in swedish and 2 english language albums in 1982 and 1984 of which the first one was really sucessfull. Agnetha has 5 or 6 pre ABBA swedish albums unter her belt..the last in 1975 as well. Then two christmas albums with each of their kids respectively and 5 post ABBA solo albums in english of which 3 were release in the 80's and two after 2000. You'd really be mangling a metaphor to death stretching the lyrics into meaning a failed relationship. it is rather a reflection, typical of the new year period on what’s happened in the past and what’s coming in the future.

It's a song for the morning after the New Years Eve party - a New Year's Day song rather than a New Year's Eve song where the party givers have woken up tripping over the empty champagne bottles - (probably) slightly hungover - soberly yet hopefully looking forward to their future (& that of humanity in general).
