Amazing video Gary great job. Having you on board with BAGA is fantastic, we look forward to growing with you and building an awesome golfing community. Everyone feel free to come check us out
Considering this was a video aimed at mid to high handicap golfers ... Having the ball bounce off all of the club face let me see how it would work for me. Very useful review. I felt like I was standing over the ball myself because You even included me talking to myself and telling me to hit the ball better. Thanks for vacuuming too.
Gaz, loved the comparison between models. I did the same test 2 weeks ago looking for a 2 iron. I tried the TaylorMade UDI and DHY, Srixon z85 and the Titleist u505 (tried the 1 & 2 iron). The winner for me was surprisingly the u505 1 iron. I hit it better which I put down to the Hzrdus Smoke Stiff Shaft. I was hitting it 245 yards. Keep up the good work and don't give up this great game.
Bad swing day for this 18hcp player today used my titleist u510 instead of the driver. 210+ and normally pretty straight with the odd pull, and its friendly enough to hit off a good fairway lie. Great stuff as usual Big G
That’s one thing I’m not prepared to lose for money, integrity. I’ll stay independent if I can’t share with the subscribers my honest opinions. Thanks 👌🏼
Loved the review. Very honestly and tbf it was helpful, you not hitting perfect strikes every time. Gave a more rounded review. Well done mate. See ya Tuesday!
Gaz, loving your channel and what a brilliant start - I think you’re so down to earth and honesty shines through. Would the new P790 be a stronger loft ?? Also just to add, the fact you weren’t hitting it well means more to the vast majority of golfers - sometimes seeing a scratch player smashing the ball more consistently doesn’t mean as much on club reviews - maybe bring in a real mid- high handicapper to test alongside you 👌👌👍🏼
"Missing the middle." welcome to my world Gaz! Take heart, I'm sure your worst day would far exceed my best day. A good real world review, enjoyed it - Thanks
My p790 2i mainly sees the majority of its action hitting stingers out from under the trees lol. But i do also love it off the tee. Playing a new course today so itll prolly come out the bag a few more times than usual.
Awesome driving iron review Gaz and if anyone is interested in buying one then make sure you get fitted. I’m gutted that Taylormade don’t make the 790 in left hand
Great review mate, the driving iron has definitely come into prominence over the last few years as they are easier to use. I much prefer using a iron over a hybrid. Maybe I’m old school as I grow up using a 1 iron butter knife blade. 😳😳
First video I have watched of yours and Subbed.. done well.. I've also tried several driving irons, typically any stock graphite does not suit me well, and whatever shafts are in my irons works best in driving irons. Although currently my two favorites that get swapped in and out of the bag are Wilson Staff Model Utility with Tensei Blue 80HY and Srixon ZX with Tour AD 95.. both great off the tee, not so much from the deck.. Cheers..!
Thanks DD, appreciate it 👌🏼 Yeah, not sure why they don’t stock them with steal anymore, I also prefer steel. Hopefully I can get old of more models in the future 👌🏼
Quality p1ss take with the Dyson at the start, Gary. Very funny. Great video as usual. Not sure I have enough clubhead speed to try a 2 iron. They seem popular though.
Gaz I've got an old Titleist 2 iron in a bag in my brother's cellar. I couldn't hit that thing to save my life mate. Great for chipping out of the low hanging trees, useless for anything else. 2 irons need a good, powerful swing to make them work, I just can't see the benefit to most golfers. The low handicap guys want them for the tricky tee shots in difficult conditions, but for us lads that hack it round a little, those marginal gains aren't necessary.
Great intro. Good laugh. 4-iron is the max in my bag. If I ever get my 4 & 5 working off the tee, maybe I’ll re-add the 3. But a 2-iron is a bit scary for me, for a high handicapper, what hybrid would you recommend instead? I currently have a 22-deg 3-Hybrid that I struggle with off the tee as well. Actually, instead of answering my question specifically, every video you’ve done with Toheed has helped me greatly. I think a revisit with Toheed, or another high handicapper, to not only see what’s in his bag but maybe add a gapping session.
@@garymartingolf It a great club off the tee. I like how you mentioned that it’s not for your average player off the fairway. See people try to hit them that way and never ends well. Keep up the great content!
Talormade have knocked it out the park with the P series.. I use p770s and they’re incredible.. the amount of forgiveness they’ve managed to put into a small compact head is unbelievable.. I will end up putting p7mcs in P, 9, 8 and 7 for a bit more feel in the lower irons but really can’t knock p770’s
Great honest review Gary like the openness of your analysis of your swing. Do you think it's possible to improve your game aged 56 or do I need to accept I'm as good as I'm going to be. Currently playing off 15.9
No buddy. Lesson learnt. Don’t buy things blind 😫 I ordered them without trying and I didn’t like the feel compared to my g425 woods I had at the time 🤙🏼
I'm probably a 7-10 handicapper I have the titleist u505 and I hit from the tee off the deck 3 wood from the tee off the deck lol ever shot from tee besides driver is off the deck
If you're a solid iron player, and hit you're long irons well, go for it. I've got several, but they run into my 3 wood distance wise, so I finally bought a 3 iron u500, and it gaps so much better for me, plus it's not as much of a one trick pony(off the tee)
I think it depends on your ball striking with and iron and what you intend to use it for. Like I’ve said, no matter what ability, I think the 2 iron doesn’t offer much versatility (mainly tee use)
Amazing video Gary great job. Having you on board with BAGA is fantastic, we look forward to growing with you and building an awesome golfing community. Everyone feel free to come check us out

What an absolutely perfect start to the video! Great video as always Gaz! I might have to look into a driving iron.

Nice to see someone testing and not nailing every shot, I can relate to your review better and trust it more

Will show you in a few weeks how to hit the u505, great intro 😂
Great video and review. Subscribed off of the content and the rare comparison. Really cool.
Thanks Rory lad 👌🏼

A 1 iron 🥶🥶🥶 Have you still got any? Could make a great video 🤣🤣
@@garymartingolf I will have a look, what’s the title PGA Pros Struggling to hit a 1 iron 😂😂😂
I’ve got the Srixon U65 2&3 driving irons in my bag. But I’m getting Taylormade P770 irons so I might look at the UDI in the near future 😃⛳️👍🏻

Just bought the p790 2i.........windy links course......low bombs away!!!!!
Sounds tasty!
Class video , after cracking the face on my sim udi 2 iron they offered me the p790 , I know what I’m getting now
That’s decent service 👌🏻

Great start to the video Gaz 🤣
Great video, just shows testing needs to be done before spending your hard earned cash
Enjoyed the review. Do you have any thoughts on the Cobra driving iron as to how it compares to these 3 you just tested?
I liked to look of the Ping Crossover best but I hit the hell out of the P790 so I went with that.
Same lol. Fancied the u505 but hit the 790 best 😅

Srixon ZX 2 iron, it’s lit 🔥
I’d love to start getting abit to try/test. Hopefully one day 👌🏼
Hey there, may i be able to adjust by bending the 505U? Loft & lie
I struggle hitting anything less than a five-iron. I have a four and five hybrid to cover those clubs. I find the hybrids easier to hit.
Nice video. Really useful. Small feedback - can you get a better microphone? Makes it hard to listen to when you swing. Great content though.

Were they all lofted the same? Shaft specs?
Great review Gary. No golf glove???

What’s that on your ankle???
Good luck charms 🤣
Srixon ZX ?
I keep hearing so much about srixon, but I don’t get chance to test any. I’ll drop them a message 👌🏼
