same im 31 and he was one of my fav skaters back when i was like 13 in the yesr 2000.
I’m turning 34 here towards the end of the year. And I remember the dc days and his last film work with alienworkshop which I still have on dvd.
When Photosynthesis came out, I would watch the whole video, then rewind back to Kalis' part and watch it again. Since then, it has been and always will the the best video part, in my opinion.
Josh is what other pro skaters should be looking up to.Dude is so talented, but humble to a fault, generous, honest and just a true person.
This dude-no matter who you are in skating-deserves respect if only for simply speaking his mind (let alone his skating). I think alot of skaters have a "whatever, it's cool, maybe, sort of, kinda" attitude, and thats their gig and that's fine. But this dude has said what he thinks and that is a rarity in skating. And he has killed it for what? 20 years?!?! Super good interview-as they all are-but agreed that it might be the best. Kailis is the fucking man. Bobshirt is the raddest. So good! Thank you.

yep im 31 and i skated every single day unless it rained in like 99, 2000, 2001. i grw up onnlong island but id take the lirr to nyc to skate on the weekends with my friends
I became a fan of Josh after reading his pro interview in TWS with Freddy Gall and have been a fan ever since. The style, the trick selection, the Love Park lines, his Sixth Sense part with the Company Flow tune, the clothes/shoes, his down to earth views on skateboarding and the industry....Dyrdek said it in his Epicly Later'd episode, "Josh is still a true skate rat", being a topnotch pro didn't change him. He's just like me and you, but only gifted with an amazing skill on a skateboard i can only dream of. I think that's why he's so loved by many skaters and fellow pros. I had the honour to see his skills when he came to Holland with the DC Super Tour, fuck man, will never forget that.....Fav skater ever!
I'm watching this interview for the 4th time. Like the Pluhowski interview this has a very honest vibe. It's very wonderful to see such honesty and genuineness
Had the pleasure of meeting Josh at the berrics back in the day, was able to talk to him for a little during batb 6. Hes genuinely one of the coolest dudes on the planet, and still one of my favorite skaters to this day 👌

I love how humble josh is, he can barely remember some of the things from his career. I feel like that shows how much he just was in the moment loving skateboarding and not caring about the fame

My favourite part of skating . I can remember shredding with so much enthusiasm after watching nearly every part , everyday

Worked in a skateshop for 3 yrs. During that period, Seek came and went but one of my favourite boards ever was the Flo Marfaing board they made. It was seriously nice in every way.

Brian Wenning aint got sh!t on Kalis. Kalis is a god of urban skateboarding. One of the few pros who gets respect from all types of skateboarders. (Although from the sound of this video, he had beefs pretty often). Kalis is the type that no matter what video he's in, you're sure to check it out just because he's in it. He's the type of pro that always came out with a fun, dope video part that you'd always want to watch again. He's in my top 10 best street skaters of all time.
Really really Big respeto for Kalis from Gdl Mexico, he represent the best era of skate, the video parts over here create a boom... the music, style damn... I'm 35 and I will start skate again after 8 years I don't F! care, hope DC will bring again the K1 and the Linx!!

But in the end that company didnt respect both of their visions pr collectiive. I the end it worked out. Kalis still gets a good check for doing what he loves amd dill manages one of the most successful brands in. the industry that expresses his creativity. I'm sure they both would be with alien if it didn't become mismanaged.
@@thagomizers6329 true, there seems to be a lot of disloyalty in pro skateboarding. Been that way for a very long time. Josh did Ed Templeton and Jamie Thomas dirty in the mid 90s, Ed did Chris Senn dirty in the late 90s, picked Kerry Getz over him just to have Kerry leave for habitat. I'm sure there's a lot going on behind the scenes, but Jason Dill just comes across as an unlikable person. Maybe it's just me🤷♂️
