Les is more.
primus succs
sansyboy this is the only song I like from them...and have no clue wtf he's saying. for a musically gifted band they suck at making good music...it's called the Primus Paradox.
Primus is awesome! i really like a lot of tracks of em.
primus sucks
Maurice Man
American Life is a top 10 song of all time....dude u suck.
who else agrees that les is the greatest bass player in the world ?
underground AlienSoul prob
Agree
Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Flea, Geddy Lee, James Jamerson, Jaco Pastorius, etc.
underground AlienSoul john entwhistle
+Adam 23 Ah, shit. I somehow forgot about John. He was amazing, probably one of the most influential bassists of all time, up there with Paul McCartney.
i feel like their drummer is really unappreciated. just listen to him in this song.
the whole band's underappreciated
yeah same I've always noticed since I heard the song wynona's big brown beaver that he was a pretty crucial part of the band. not to say I'm like a die hard fan of Primus or anything though.
Tim "Herb" Alexander - aka, The Ginseng Drummer, just had a second heart attack. You're also spot on. Drummers know how special he is, but the general population just think Primus is a goofy band with a song about a beaver.
L Schwartz
oh shit, i'm glad he's okay.
It's not just about a beaver. It's about a woman and her pet beaver. They also have a song about an ice cube.
P.S. PRIMUS SUCKS!
Primus and Tool. The bands that care about their music videos.
Rammstein does even more
David Alarcón Du richt so gut.
absolutely. my top two favorite bands. seeing them live together was incredible.
gabriel nieto I saw them in New Orleans
Necrophagia?
The T00L vibe is strong with this one.
Definitely would have been cool if the Tool guys had joined them on this at Sessanta last night.
Yesss
the save point before primus was pink floyd. and it will keep changing........ just like floyd did, primus did, tool did and others will. but i'm too old to know who it is these days
there are no owners, only performers
That elephant is fucking adorable.
thanks

Once took acid and just listened to Primus for what felt like months, or were it years ?
This needs more appreciation

Weve got us a spaghetti western here on 36. I like spaghetti, the way the boots are reverbed out walking across the hardwood floors. In fact, everything has that big reverb sound. What do we do now? Go to sleep? Pull the pud? WE NEED NEW PORNOS!!!
30 years later I still jam the F out to Primus. Now I see why dad never quit Black Sabbath and Grand Funk Railroad all those years
My dead roommate showed me this song 16 years ago after drinking my first pint of Crown Royal

@Backstage Bum my roommate is a ghost.... but he listens to kulture klub
So what happened to your roommate ?.
I would have liked to have a dead roommate too... For company, for e.g.
Probably one of the worlds best bassists if not the best. Gotta give em credit for the clay animation as well.
Charles Barnette idk. Flea from RHCP is pretty skilled
Victor Wooten is by far the best
Cliff Burton would have been great too if he hadn't died so young at 24. Metallica was never the same without him.
Finding the best or claiming to know the best is naive. There will always be someone or something better that you have yet to perceive.
@@bradenpetty3828 i'm laughing.
I love there is no negative energy anywhere in this song or the comments..
Negative feeds the positive...as the reverse spins
Still without doubt one of my top 17 elephant related animation videos ever shot on a Wednesday between 4-4:35 pm
Damn right, you fly away various African mammals.
Haha. Damn various mammals. Shenanigans and tomfoolery.

Hey you fat turd called divine you still over there in Choctaw hr 30 minutes from where I’m at right now
This is a good song to show to people to introduce them to primus.
Primus is like one of these bands you don't quite end up liking after listening for the first time, but it grows on you like crazy, at the end you wind up enjoying them thinking they're geniuses, because they are.
Maxi the first time i heard them i thought wtf is this and only enjoyed a few songs. Now their one of my favourite bands and i listen to them everyday.
I showed my friends Lacquer Head the other day.
They are now questioning my sanity.
+jackbho its your freinds that are insane
I'd show them "John the Fisherman." It's got all the essential parts of Primus' style, but it's more accessible than most of their work. This song is missing a lot of the crazy energy that they put in much of their music, even though it's still good enough in its own right.
This is probably my favorite Primus song. The tension is anxiety-inducing and then this wave of monolithic inevitability appears on the horizon.
Mine as well
Woah
The whole album is next level. It's hard to pick a favourite, but if pressed I'd say Tales from the Punchbowl is mine.
Don't forget mr krinkle or follow the fool

I have been listening to PRIMUS non stop. Every single song is better than the last and it's a visual and auditory feast. FIRST TIME EVER. THANK YOU BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD.
Primus are weird but in a very good way ! Very eccentric and out there ! Unique, that's the right word
As a musician I've respected their ability to make rock/metal center around the bass instead of the guitar for _years,_ not to mention how great everyones' playing is and their unique songwriting ideas
Real music envokes a fuller range of emotion. I'm glad they play Perry Como in elevators, though.@@Hollandvancewright
beavis and butthead never scored and then look at the credits and youll see why
First Primus song I learned on bass, this song is just really special to me. I'm so grateful for this band.
Pp
This song is damn near impossible to be the first song you learned on bass. Those 8th notes are constant while he does the riff. So yeah you bullshit or you're not playing it right
@@Mike_HanchoI think he means that it was the first Primus song he learned on bass, and not the first in general, so he may have had prior learning to play it
Primus is like Rush
Claypool and lee are the fantastic bassists
Lalonde and Lifeson are the guitarists out of the lime light
Alexander and Peart are the awesome technical drummers
I love this comment.
Agreed, another thing, I find it hard to name literally any other band that sounds similar to Primus, much the same with Rush, both bands kinda have their own individual sorta styles that no one else can really touch.
Rush+Frank Zappa=Primus
I got to see Primus open for Rush in Cleveland Ohio! As a drummer, I was blown away. What a night!
Yeah no doubt. All 3 of these dudes are great musicians..😎
2:41 using actual kick drum dynamics instead of a regular fill is so badass. Love this track so much
Primus was the 1990's. This album came out when I was 18 yo. All my friends already had their primus albums, their favorites, Sailing, Frizzel, Miscellaneous, this one was mine and for me. I thought Wynona's BBB was a great tune, until I heard this, I was hooked, and here I am still. I saw them live in the 90's, once at the Paramount and once at Red Rocks, the trio has always been in my pocket, in my ears, and definitely in my mind. God speed to great music, and nostalgic moods of the past that remain with us, be well.
One of my favorite primus songs is Wynonas big brown beaver to
Off of memory I believe this came out in 1995 and I was 22, now 50. Spent many a night spilling bong water to Primus that’s for sure. This album was a pleasant surprise for me. I remember I was in a store with my wife and I said “well look at that, a new Primus album”. I had no idea this one was coming out. Same thing happened 2 years later with the Brown album. I remember being proud of them for still cranking out albums every 2 years.
I've always loved the haunting guitar line in the middle of the song.
I don't even listen to Primus but this has been my favorite music video ever since I first saw it.
I love pachyderms.

Your music added such a magical flavor to them that teleports me back to those moments whenever I listen to your playful pieces of music.
Such a brilliant bassline. How the fuck does he write so brilliantly, & consistently.

This song is freakin amazing in concert
That drummer is a f...ing master!!
This made me feel stoned when I watched it for the first time. The strange, peaceful, outlandish way the flying elephant carries the small one. With the weighty, slow, dark ambiance the song carries It somehow gave me a weird head change. Also with the fact my brain hears a human voice but cannot logically comprehend what he’s saying.

I looked at guitar tabs for this song and was trying to learn it. Don't even bother. Even if you're technically a good player, forget replicating this glory.
how the hell could you think Primus sucks you guys f****** eat goat balls
+Paul Cooley 1. That reply was to the wrong comment and 2. You don't get it
I realize now that people used to say Primus sucks at their concerts so my previous comment was uneducated
Paul Cooley Where did the reply come from though? It was the one comment that didn't mention Primus sucking lol
below Frank Rizzo says Primus sucks and I just commented in a random spot if I read the next post before I commented I would have looked into it further and not posted what I had
Well those pachyderms are indeed southbound 👍
This right here is my favorite Primus song. I don't know what it is, but I just fucking love this so much it hurts. It hurts me to the core with it's pure awesomeness. This and "Have a Cigar" are so beyond awesome that it shouldn't even be possible. They defy the logic of the universe.

this song was INSANE Live! was blessed to see them at massey hall last Saturday on the Tribute to Kings tour 👍
I was there, too! That Saturday night show was something else. This and Hoinfodaman were the highlights for me.
Saw this show in Edmonton, wow, they blew me away. I am not much of a Rush fan, which was a killer set, but their own stuff is unreal. The double bass playing really set my trip off :-)
Yes, I saw this tour at The Greek in LA. The video screen showed back-flipping elephants during a long instrumental passage. Killer!
@@jtalbritton4490 ON THE TRAMPLINES!!
I’m a little old man living in the woods on wild lettuce and um, other stuff, but Holy Mackerel Mother of God, I do dig Primus.
What
PRIMUS always has a story to tell.
Why does no one talk about the guitar player? He's really good! But I guess it's easy to be overlooked when you're in a band with Les Claypool xD
Mad respect for Ler for even being able to write guitar parts around Les' insanity.
Right? Honestly though, Ler is one of my favorite guitar players. He is really underrated though...
Kayne Jacques People don't respect subtle intricacy enough
Kayne Jacques ya lol there drummer is also really good but once again the bass steals all the attention but les earned the attention he's badass
I think it also has to do with how often Ler sticks to slow and/or simple parts. He often seems to be quite selective with showing off his ability, especially on albums on Pork Soda.
I had no idea there was a video for this song. This song takes on a whole new meaning.
I was on shrooms a while back, and got stuck in Les Claypool Land. It was making my trip funky (bad is good though, right), I kept saying I had to change the music but could not even though I was walking around and fully functioning on 3.5. wild stuff. Before I lost my Daddy a couple of years ago he heard Primus and LOVED it. He was born in 42 and was always very picky about his tunes. It was awesome. (In middle school in the early/mid 90s I did introduce him to Cypress Hill, and The Fugees which he also enjoyed.)
2015 Primus and TOOL Tour! Yesssssssssssssss!!!!!

Some have commented that this reminds them of Tool. Actually it reminds me of a very specific Pink Floyd song, the way it buiilds to a cresendo: Careful with That Axe Eugene
Yes its similar to echoes
It just can't compete with that waters scream.
Yup, you can't even whisper "Caaaarefull, caarrefullll, carefull with that axe eugeeeene" and it'll fit amazingly. :p
prob;y why les does several pink floyd covers in other bands
This song actually sounds a lot like Sonic Youth. Listen to "I dreamed I dream" off Sonic Youth's first album.
