- Join me on an adrenaline-fueled fishing journey as I hit the pristine waters of the Columbia River. 🌊🎣
Highlights:
Biggest Bag Ever: I’m still pinching myself! 🤯 During this trip, I managed to haul in a jaw-dropping 23lb 2oz limit of smallmouth bass. Yes, you read that right-five monster fish that would make any angler’s heart race! 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Jerkbaits, Crankbaits, and Ned Rigs: I left no stone unturned. Armed with my trusty jerkbaits, I danced them seductively through the water, enticing those bronze-backed beauties. The crankbaits mimicked injured baitfish, and the Ned Rigs-oh, the Ned Rigs-were irresistible to these hungry bass. 🎣
Multiple 5-Pounders: It was like a smallmouth buffet out there! 🍽️ These feisty fighters put up a spectacular show, leaping out of the water and testing my gear to the max. Each 5-pounder felt like a trophy, and I reveled in the battle. 💪
Personal Best Broken: Not once, but twice! 🏆 My previous personal best? Shattered. These Columbia River smallmouths are in a league of their own. The adrenaline rush as I reeled in those record-breakers-indescribable! 🎉
Scenic Beauty: Let’s not forget the breathtaking backdrop-the Columbia River in all its glory. The sun-kissed water, the rugged hills, and the endless sky-it’s a slice of heaven for any angler. 🌅
Gear Used:
Jerkbaits: Twitch, pause, and BAM! These lures were the MVPs. The biggest players were the Googan Squad Scout in Perch and a Strike King KVD 200.
Crankbaits: The wobble action drove the bass wild. Old trusty came through as the bigs came on the Luck E Strike Shallow Smoothy in Chili Bowl.
Ned Rigs: Subtle finesse, deadly results.
Rod/Reels: I used the Alpha Angler Slasher and Rebound as those are two of the best rods on the market in my opinion!
Takeaway:
Never underestimate the Columbia River’s smallmouth bass. They’re fierce, they’re cunning, and they’re ready to give you the fight of your life. 🎣
