I noticed you close you Aputure quite a bit, it’s refreshing to see because most DPs try to open up lenses as much as possible, but what made you choose otherwise?
As Contax and Yashica were working together and Yashica used the same coatings on their ML series of lens have you looked at those. The cost of Yashica glass is currently in range of most of us. The quality of the glass is along the line of some of the best out there.
I've been building my contax zeiss set since 2020 and it has been a blast to use them ! Now I have a 6 lens cinemod set and I use them a lot for commercial and music videos, such a beautiful and versatile lens set !!
Idk who you ripped off but you got great money for those tokinas… I see them regularly for like $2k a lens. Amazing contax Zeiss lens set too. Glad to see these beauties getting use.
Thanks Josh, Imagery look amazing. Sharp but not sharp alchemy. Anyway, I think your video has convinced me to go for the 35, 50 and 85. 35 f1.4 has steady gone up in price recently but thankfully not Summilux crazy! Shooting on the sigma art stills and find myself “declinicalising” quite a lot. Best wishes from Scotland Martin
