I think on ultra twisters the passengers heart line is lined up with the track’s center, so it’s fair to call it inline twist because it would be the same as heartline rolls.
@@tituswilkinson4911 in online twist, a track twists without changing elevation. In heartline roll the tracks twists so that passengers are rotated around a line that is roughly at the height of their hearts. Now in sitdown or inverted coasters to achieve this track must go into a narrow corkscrew, and in inline twist passengers are rotated around the track. But in this coaster, the track is at roughly chest-height so both elements are identical.
The Ultra Twister at Rusutsu Resort is the craziest Ultra Twister there is, since it features a dive loop. Wouldn't be surprised if that one was the best. Bandit was great, and I think a few people in our group preferred it over Ultra Twisters.

Next time you head to Japan, I’m quite sure you’ll hit the Rusutsu Resort! The Ultra Twister there has 4 inversions, due to the dive loop. I call that one “INSANE” compared to the regular (tilting) ones. I’m “almost” confident it will make your top “whatever” list. Glad you enjoyed it! We really wanted to visit Rusutsu Resort, but because its so far out of the way and extremely difficult to get to, we decided to cut it from the trip. I am sure I would try to make it up there whenever the next time I visit Japan is!
I rode one of these in Japan years ago. It was one of the craziest rides I have ever ridden. I took a friend who hates coasters on it. He pretty much had a panic attack and was screwed up the rest of the day!
Ultra Twister was my absolute favorite ride growing up at Astroworld. Hence my screen name lol. I remember the airtime being crazy plus if you rode in the back row it flung you out of the seat coming off of the lift hill.
I think this is an iconic and underrated ride. I rode the one in Astroworld when I was a kid and remember loving it. Coming over the first hill sent me flying out of my seat. I’d like to see this model make a resurgence; I bet they could come up with even crazier layouts. Thanks for showcasing it! Great vid as always.
I was 12 when I rode it at SFGADV. What an exciting and strange experience of the time. I know it moved to Astroworld and in a couple of seasons it was reprofiled to a 45 degree lift. If it ever was to come out of storage we would not have the vertical lift. I do remember the train not stopping going through the station and you hustled to get on. Thanks for the memories Taylor.
I was lucky enough to experience this at Astroworld once. Taylor hit the nail on the head. It looks weird and you really don't know what you're getting into the first time, but I got off saying I never experienced anything like that before and I think I really like it. Such a pleasant surprise.
I enjoy found the Ultra Twister to be a surprisingly enjoyable ride. Can't agree more with your opinions on them. They are just great in odd ways. Not the greatest rides out there but far from the worst. I have had the opportunity to ride the dive loop version and it's just another step up from the standard layout. It keeps its speed and feels like more of a full combined experience!
I got to ride the UltraTwister at Great Adventure multiple times when i was a kid. I remember the TV ads for it and the long wait times. I think my friend got an branded button around the opening if i recall. It was a long time ago!
I got one ride on Ultra Twister at Astroworld, after the lift hill was modified to be at an angle instead of vertical. It still freaked me out, but I loved it. Very smooth ride, very strange, and so much fun. I echo everything you said in this review. I wish Six Flags America had been able to reassemble it!
Correction. The coaster in the picture at 0:25 is not an Ultra Twister. It is a standard Togo looping coaster that the park requested more rings to be put around it, witch just makes it look like an Ultra Twister
Got to do the Ultratwister at Nagashima Spa Land three times in a row, and loved it! It's such a unique experience. After the first ride I just couldn't stop laughing, and that wasn't even in the front row. The other two were, and that makes it even better. I'm actually surprised these aren't in more parks, as they are so different from normal coasters, don't take up that much space, and I'd think there should be pretty cool possibilities with theming. I'd love to ride the one at Rusutsu with the dive loop, based on the POV videos I've seen that seems even better!

I had a chance to ride viper at great adventure which was the Togo shown in this video although it was not an ultra twister and just used the signature Togo rings around parts of the coaster mostly around the cork screw sections. It did take over the space that was there was a true Togo Ultra Twister that went by that exact name. Viper I remember being a rough ride with very harsh shoulder restraints. Great adventure has to be a very rare American park that has had 2 Togo’s come and go
I used to ride this when Astroworld was open. I never really cared for it. The ride was rough and the shoulder harnesses were uncomfortable. Basically we used to ride this when the lines for other coasters were too long. I do vaguely remember loading onto this ride while the car was slowly backing up.
This was my FAVORITE ride as a kid. Astro World was one of my home parks. And for me it was always a must ride. I loved everything about it from the conveyor belt loading station. But my favorite was always the backward parts. Sad this ride is not in any U.S parks. Boo the closure of Astroworld it’s a huge empty hole in Houston that was once a place filled with some of my best memories. I can count it as a rare credit.
Of all the times I've been to Six Flags in Jersey I only got to ride Viper once. El Toro was a welcome replacement.(....and still have yet to ride Kingda Ka.)
The Togo Ultra Twisters and Intamin 1st Gen Freefalls were in my opinion some of the coolest mechanically complicated coaster/rides ever made. From what I recall there was at least one downtime at SFGA where the fire department had to evacuate the guests off the vertical lift. Anyone recall the details? Ultimately it was not allowed to operate without modifying the lift for easy evacuation. The solution was going to be to reprofile the lift to 45 degrees. Since it was going to cost $$$$, Six Flags Corporate decided to move it to Astroworld as a new coaster and bless SFGA with a new coaster ... The Viper. Early on at Astroworld there were issues with the cars overrunning the upper brake run resulting in hard stops against the end of the track at the switch. One of these overruns caused minor injuries, made the local news and it was closed for the rest of the year. It reopened next year with additional over run track that juts off the end of the upper brakeway and tilts with the switch. They also removed one of the cars from the circuit. This allowed one additional block to be clear in the station after the final brake run as a safety precaution but reduced capacity. Seat belts were added and an orange colored safety strap with clasp was installed to each shoulder bar that clips into the seat when closed. This enforces a maximum height/size of a guest that can ride (no clippy no ride). The shoulder bars are mechanical rachet type and do not have sensors to indicate if lowered enough to lock. Because of all these changes it made the wait time painfully slow even with the moving conveyor belt. Sad to know it's never going to live again as it was also painted the year before the park shut down. Such a waste after all the money spent over the years making it a safer ride. I vote for S&S to resurrect a modern version. I enjoyed riding it many times over the years at Astroworld even if it was slightly painful.
Rode the Astroworld Ultra Twister and loved it. Hate that it's gone. Nothing else like it ever. Can't understand why there isn't one in operation here in the states.
I remember riding the one at AstroWorld. There was hardly a line and I got to write a multiple times. However. I'm a tall guy and those shoulder restraints rubbed me raw. But still, fun ride!
I think more six flags park's might've gotten them, but there were never known for reliability. Probably because of all the different life stuff, and then the tilting part as well. If they had remodeled to do like a mystery mine twist and drop through a half loop and eliminated that, it probably would've been a great "2.0" model. Any real chance to make an improved model really got destroyed when Six Flags Great Adventure didn't even give Togo a chance to run/build anything but a prototype, which became "Viper," the sit down Togo with the bad restraints, and while it looked cool, only had one of those kinds of inversions (probably because it was meant to be a build prototype it didn't even have most of the rings til it was asked to put them on). Later, interestingly, one of their biggest coasters has that "mystery mine" element, as well as the heartline roll through the rings, and the same kind of looking seating and it's considered to be a good coaster. Has nobody bought the rights to this stuff like S&S did arrow? I mean who is fixing these ultra twisters? I imagine some parts are interchangeable but still.
The reason it is argued to be a christmas movie though is because it was rereleased during the holiday season due to its popularity. Another reason is that the main villain uses a holiday festival to take hostages.
When we had Astroworld, I hated The Ultra Twister the shoulder restraints were hard and when you rotated through the heartline rolls and slid down while upside down they hurt the shoulder bad
Would you change getting your head slammed prior to the track dropping you to go backwards, Sounds like that could be an improvement. I agree the ride would be the one I would bring up when discussing strange roller coasters in Japan.
Wath the video of Ultra twister at the now-defunct Six Flags Astroworld ours was a little taller and the end reclining track to the bottom was higher to tilt down then the other Ultra twister.
This ride looks really old. Was it the steepest coaster in the world when it opened?? Feel like these ride require a lot of maintenance so not many were built
TOGO could have made a complete circuit going forward facing if they had turned the car on its side and then made a U-turn. The whole ride would be FORWARD and they could have done a regular angled-up lift hill......this would have lowered construction and operating costs....due to not having all the tipping platforms.... and more American parks would have been interested in snagging themselves an Ultra Twister. I built one in RCT which went forward and backward four two times each. That was fun. LOL
I remember they used to have one of these things at SFGA in the mid-80s. Too bad I never went there during that time period. I went in May 1982 on a class trip, and not again till 1989. 😕
oh tyler i forgot to tell you, i ran ultra twister's replacement at great adventure, the viper. yes it was a crappy coaster but it was quite fun to run
I would assume with the name "Ultra Twister" and given the ride physically showcasing a singular element, the most average of GP wouldn't be expecting to ride this looking for airtime, intensity, or whatever. It's like a dive machine - you go on it for the dive, not elements that define other types of roller coasters.
I rode the one at Astroworld, the ride was cool, but the offloading sucked...you were expected to step off the ride onto a moving conveyor belt...you are already off balance, but then...
I wonder why these coasters have such bad stats in Rollercoaster Tycoon, I guess Chris Sawyer or someone he knows must have had a bad experience with them.
I watch the channel a lot and listen to your opinions and would like to hear opinion on why me being of Florida resident is excluding need from the ticket of a lifetime promotion me being a platinum pass holder and weeds me more confused would like to hear your opinions
That’s viper at SFGAdv... not Ultra Twister. Viper was a Togo looping coaster with a heart line roll... nothing like UltraTwister (which was previously on that site). Viper was terrible. Y’all don’t know bad restraints, unless you’ve been on viper.
Quick correction, the ride goes thru 3 heartline rolls, not inline twists.
I think on ultra twisters the passengers heart line is lined up with the track’s center, so it’s fair to call it inline twist because it would be the same as heartline rolls.

@@DoswarePictures true but still was a fun Togo
“No one gets off of an ultra twister and says “I loved the airtime”
Eltororyan: Am I a joke to you?
Great vids
Pls make a review on rockin roller coaster
Oh man, I am DYING to go on the one with the dive loop!!! 🎟❤️🎟
I didn’t get to ride the one at Nagashima Spa land, but I got the other credits!
Remember the one at Great Adventure? Yeah it was weird
That’s a heavy score there. Don’t hype to much I’ve rode at Nag spa land, it’s just a fun credit
I'm going to Japan next year. I will ride one of these.
Are you tho?
@@CoasterRoaster ;'(
El toro Ryan said I love the airtime
oh tyler i forgot to tell you, i ran ultra twister's replacement at great adventure, the viper. yes it was a crappy coaster but it was quite fun to run
There is a ultra twister in kuwait that has been removed
I actually rode the UltraTwister in New Jersey, and it was quite good!
It’s really cool
Onride footage?
Earth shattering?
The ultra twisters sound so weird and cool. I’d like to ride one some day.
Brevity is the soul of wit.
Yeah the one at Rusutsu is definitely the best...with it's dive loop it borderline feels dangerous how much ass it hauls 😂
I gave this model a 7 it hurts ur head af but it’s pretty fun
The reason for the switch tracks is because the cars used on these coasters are not designed to turn
I would assume with the name "Ultra Twister" and given the ride physically showcasing a singular element, the most average of GP wouldn't be expecting to ride this looking for airtime, intensity, or whatever. It's like a dive machine - you go on it for the dive, not elements that define other types of roller coasters.
Darien Lake should buy one
@@DoswarePictures We should just take the one from Nagashima Spaland and push it somewhere else
The Togo boomerang
have you got the chance to ride rise of the resistance yet?
and will you do a review?
I have not but when I do get the chance to ride it I will be sure to do a video on it
Basically a Tilt coaster by Togo, right?
Heartline coaster in rct3
I rode the one at Astroworld, the ride was cool, but the offloading sucked...you were expected to step off the ride onto a moving conveyor belt...you are already off balance, but then...
I wonder why these coasters have such bad stats in Rollercoaster Tycoon, I guess Chris Sawyer or someone he knows must have had a bad experience with them.
Welp. Time to buy a ticket to japan
Do ittttt you won't regret it!
The coaster you showed at Great Adventure was not an ultra twister. There was another coaster at Great Adventure that was an ultra twister.
I watch the channel a lot and listen to your opinions and would like to hear opinion on why me being of Florida resident is excluding need from the ticket of a lifetime promotion me being a platinum pass holder and weeds me more confused would like to hear your opinions
wait WHAT???? There is a BRAZILIAN THEMED PARK?? WOAAAAA
What’s you favorite ride at lagoon?
Cannibal
Coaster Studios That’s mine too! I would say wicked would be #2 I love lagoon because the line are just so short
Daniel productions the lanes are short :/
Daniel productions what?
oi wtf, fujiama is AMAZZZINNGGGG. I loved that ride, it was smooth and fun, i rode the one in nagashima but fujiyama is still far superior
MovieBoysHD and that’s your opinion. This is my opinion. Everyone is different🤷🏼♂️
Hmmm. And WHY don't we have one in the U.S? I think we need it
That’s viper at SFGAdv... not Ultra Twister. Viper was a Togo looping coaster with a heart line roll... nothing like UltraTwister (which was previously on that site). Viper was terrible. Y’all don’t know bad restraints, unless you’ve been on viper.
Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure is not an Ultra Twister, but just a bad TOGO coaster in general. El Toro kicked it out for good.
