Eventually the jointed rail will be replaced by ribbon rail. As it looked like the panels were installed square, there will be a slow order until the rails are changed out or the joints welded out. Panels are built with all new material, ties, plates, anchors, and rail.

      @HotspotsSoutheast  4 года назад +1

      I have been flying DJI Phantom 4’s for over three years. I’m pretty good at panning and making smooth turns. The only problem is if the wind is blowing hard. If you are not touching the controls the drone will keep itself in positing with GPS even when the wind is blowing but once you start taking control it may not always go in a straight line. It may jog to the side or not rotate smoothly. I try to edit those out. I am just now getting good at moving and adjusting the camera angle up or down at the same time. The camera angle button is on the front of the remote. Not as easy to reach while using the other controls.

    How many men does it take to right an engine? Answer...one in each tractor lifting the engine (2) and 11 supervisors watching. This is probably the same 11 doing nothing earlier in the video further up the track. I guess when you have a sugar daddy like NS footing the bill, you can work like this. It is an amazing video and its amazing how quick they got the line running, but it sure wasn't because the supervisors helped. If it sounds like I have no use for supervisors, you are right. The crews I worked on knew what to do and went ahead and did it. The supervisor (1) knew we knew our job, left us do our work, and made him look good at the same time, getting the job done and done in a safe manner. Eleven people watching and doing nothing is senseless!

    • @HotspotsSoutheast
      @HotspotsSoutheast  3 года назад +1

      Most of the people standing around are not supervisors. The goal of the operation isn't to be efficient and save money. Saving money by hiring fewer workers would cost the railroad potentially hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. Getting the track back in service hauling freight and generating revenue is paramount. So instead of hiring 5 guys who can do everything from operate backhoes to cut rail to hammer spikes they hire a large team of specialists. One guy is there to cut rail. Another guy drills holes for the bolts, another group hammers spikes and tightens bolts, and there are people to operate the different types of tractors. There are supervisors who coordinate all of the team members but that's because there are so many things happening simultaneously. There are people moving the damaged cars out of the way, people putting cars back on the track, people removing the damaged track, people bringing in the replacement track and ties, people spreading gravel etc. One supervisor can't do it by themselves. The railroad isn't wasting one dime on the operation, they are getting it done as fast as possible with as many people as it takes to get the job done in the shortest amount of time possible. The whole operation is like an assembly line. One guy doesn't build an automobile. It would be cheap to pay just one guy to do the work, but it would take a month to build it. You pay dozens of people, or use machines, to put all of the parts together as it moves down the assembly line. In between cars the people and machines just sit there waiting for the next car body to move into position in front of them, then they work fast and efficiently to do their one task. One man can make one car in a month, 20 men can make 100 cars in a week.

      So the truck driver deliberately drove in front of the train so he could purposely be hit?
