Thank you I enjoyed watching the video very much. My roses have rust spots on the leaves and I have battled that with baking soda, banana peels, LAB, neem oil and I even went as far as liquid coper and nothing seems to help! I have never seen them caterpillars!!! I have grasshoppers chew on a few leaves here and there. Good luck:)

Love that greenhouse. They sell an inexpensive insecticide spray bottle for roses that works great from Bayer.

I’m pretty sure I have the same greenhouse as you (exacco?) and have a passion for figs. I usually empty my greenhouse for the summer as I always assumed the figs didn’t love the 100 plus temps. Maybe leaving them in will save me a little trouble

Wow! That’s awesome news! When did you get it? And what fig varieties do you have? Are you in a cold climate like me?
So far they’ve been loving it in the high temps! But I do water them very well each morning.

6B is close so thinking the temp wouldn’t be too different than mine. The only time I will take action and put up the screen door I bought is in the dead of summer when our temps go up into the 100s for a week outside. The greenhouse may turn into an oven then. I imagine similar for you. I bought the adhesive pet screen door with zipper from Amazon. I hope it does well in those temps.

Can you please tell me where I can buy a greenhouse like this

Use BT for the worms and make sure to get the underside of the leaves. Prolly a moth or butterfly.

The sawfly larvae is a pain in the butt but I use bioadvance rose and flower insect killer slows it down.. I spray under the leaves n on top early morning or late evening

You should pinch your tips to prevent such lanky vegetative growth and encourage branching.

What’s this a fig channel in my zone!?!? Can we know which state this is? That’s quite a setup you’ve got going! This is my first year growing figs I’m in 6a and way way way behind you. My Chicago Hardy’s are just starting to put growth on (after they all got sun burned due to my ignorance) and my VDB is just waking up. Do I have a chance at getting figs do you think or am I to late already?
Also you need a thermal mass inside your greenhouse to stabilize the temperature, a large(ish) tank of water works great to capture the heat of the day and release it at nighttime when it’s cold out

      Haha! What a great comment!
I live in northern Illinois and the Chicago Hardies and Olympian I have in ground are just now leafing out from the base due to die back. 👎🏻
There is no way to fruit these trees here without a head start. Many of us just pot them up and have a light and heat setup in our garages or elsewhere to do that in early February. Some wake them up in March and it still works great even for the late varieties like the Black Madeira. I think you have a chance of ripening the CH if you get one of those small pop-up greenhouses for it and use that each Feb/Mar making sure you have a way to keep heat consistent in there when the weather turns bad. Nighttime temp should be 40+ when they are just waking up. 50 is much much better. I have a diesel heater in mine and am investing in a second just in case! I’m so glad to know we have another one of us out there - GOOD LUCK! ❤️

      Hi Peter,
Welcome to the crazy world of fig collectors!
If I were you, and I was, I would NOT put anything in a 15-gal pot. Your cuttings will fail if you do that otherwise, you may lot get fruit for years. They will be busy trying to fill the pot with roots. Best if you keep them all in 2/3gal pots for now. HD has them for cheap, just learned that this year! 🙃
When you up-pot, they usually abort the figs if they can’t handle it. So up to you. If me, I would leave them on.
