In this video I mod my non hot swappable mechanical keyboard from a blue switch to a red switch pcb and made it quieter with the most thock.

Nice job and a really good sound for just using pelican foam. Very cool. One other thing you might want to try that I use to dampen the sound of the keycap bottoming out is o rings. silicon o rings of various material weights and thicknesses have a really impactful effect on the sound output and they are VERY cheap and VERY easy to install.
This is really helpful info. I have this K4 keyboard with red switches (they are hotswappable on my board) but the bottoming out is what makes the board so noisy imo.
What mechanical keyboard do you recommend I should get?
I love this keyboard, its my secondary I use for my work machine and use the BT on my HTPC.

Ну дак ты ничего и не сделал по сути. Во первых если ты решил купить новую клавиатуру, то надо было брать не К4 на красных свичах, а любую, или такую же клавиатуру, но на тихих свичах. Это всё что нужно было сделать. Просто купить клаву на Cherry MX Silent Red например. Если небыло клавиатуры на таких свичах, то надо было купить версию с "горячей заменой" и докупить дешёвые, но хорошие тихие свитчи например от akko. И всё. Это было бы из коробки намного тише чем то, что у тебя получилось.
А так... Ты плохо смазал свитчи, ты не поставил даже силиконовые кольца и тд. Ты просто убрал клик который издавали синие переключатели. Не зачёт.
I returned my blue switches to a red switches fam. And you’re right, maybe a cheaper hot-swappable keyboard would be best and then mod it. But these actually make a lot of difference for this mod. Not the most quiet of course but its a night and day difference
