Mycotyrant has instantly become my all time favorite commander! I personally run a self mill strat and it just gets so wacky within a few turns. instant board states and so much survivability
I was going mill strat plus bringing back from the graveyard, but I like the different direction this one goes into. I think both strats would be strong and fun to play
Good vid. I went with self mill too, cards like hermit Druid, oath of druids, mesmeric orb, altar of dementia and gaea’s blessing make this fun more than saproling tokens imho:)
I've been considering throwing Grismold into a Mycotyrant deck. With all the tokens dying from sacrifice effects or combat, Grismold will get big very fast. Great video!
Think a self mill strat might go best with Mycotyrant. It's an army on its own once the engine is running. Street Wraith and Blood Pet are both great includes too since they both descend. Pet is a small mana bank and Wraith is a nice cycle.
Agree with you that self mill is the way to go with this commander. Miasmic Orb, Out of the Tombs, Greater Good, and all the dredge effects like Golgari Grave Troll, Golgari Thug, Life from the Loam, Stinkweed Imp, and Dakmor Salvage make the engine hum.
Self mill and dredge abuse here. Going for an Ashnod's Altar combo to either Aristocrat to win or Exsanguinate/Torment of Hailfire. The deck also has Overwhelming Stampede and card recursion with flashback.
Im running Nemata and the other two in the 99, I feel that a saproling deck does better with Nemata or Slimefoot, but i like Nemata for its card draw and easier saproling gen.

I am building it around the descend. Use black and green cards to mill to generate tokens
Mill is definitely a great way to build this deck. If you add in some dredge cards they could also really help. I hope you have a great day!

I feel like Jaheira, Friend of the Forest is a slam dunk for this deck with how many tokens you're churning out

Take a Slimefoot deck, replace the commander. 🙃
