    Cool. As a motorcycle racer and lifelong biker, I've mounted hundreds of tires. Pinched my tube last week -- first time in 40+ years. 😢
    I'm going to try this next tine!

    Thanks for the video! I tried this method a while back when I mounted my tires, worked great! Still in process of building my cycle kart, but weather temp is currently -10 degrees F, too cold to tinker in garage, for now. 😊

    Great idea! I went through 4 tubes before finally having all 4 tires aired with no leaks!

      I have pinched enough tubes in the past few years myself. The Club Kart we used at least 7 tubes to get 4 tires that hold air

    Good wrap-up for the wheel rebuild project! 12*F here on the NW corner of the country, too cold for little open cars but I sure wished mine was done so I could could drive through the 2" of snow!!

      @@stevevinson6030 I have changed lots of motorcycle tires but this is slick tucking the tube inside and levering both beads at once! I did mine one side , stuff tube, then other side. No pinched tubes luckily! Took an hour for four at least.

    Sometimes I heat up the tire with a heat gun if it’s really tough or will not seat.
    If I were to use a 200cc (197cc) Chinese ATV motor (4 speed +reverse), would I get dirty looks from the guys? I’m pretty sure I’m going to build a CK.

    • @stevevinson6030
      @stevevinson6030  Год назад

      Probably, but if it looks right who really cares. The guys in Argentina are using dirt bike motors. 90cc and maybe 125CC. The 200 CC will be very powerful in comparison to the standard 200CC with a TAV

    Hi Steve , great channel , I’ve a question (unrelated to this video )does the steering pivot point between the two track rods have to be in the centre of the kart ? I’m building a front engined kart and thinking of running the steering shaft down the right hand side . I hope you can understand . I could possibly go underneath the engine but it would leave the shaft very low. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks and keep up your great work D. 🇬🇧

      I see no issues as long as both wheels turn the same amount, the length of the tie rod shouldn't matter.
      I have seen a few guys use a steering mechanism that exists the body on the side, goes forward to the pitman arm on the spindle then attaches to the other spindle with a rod, steering both wheels.

    Thank you for the 'How to' lesson, I will give it a try when I get the wheels, tires, tubes and rim strips I have on order. Really like the shirt. LOL . I watch this video years ago where a Gentleman mounted tires on a clincher style rim using plastic trash bags. ruclips.net/video/P6sH8WRl6yI/видео.html

      @@stevevinson6030 I used your zip tie method to install the tires I have. First three were a pain in the butt as I two tire spoons that would work on a car but not the bike wheels, ordered a set of bike spoons and as you said BAM, on in a flash. I think it took me less than 5 minutes to get the tire mounted and aired up. This is a flat-out slick trick. Thanks again for sharing.
