  • "The Hits of the 70's"- Gibson SGs are very interesting and somewhat fragile guitars. The nut width is narrower than most guitars also. These are my first couple runs on this unique guitar. Thanks for stopping by! That’s awesome and it must be really rare. Do you know how many left handed they made that year?

      @@joeriffanucci I'm Portuguese and I bought mine on Ebay UK, around 2016/17 and there were a few more available. I saw some videos on YT also. I don´t know how many were made, but I will try to find out. I maybe wrong but I get the feeling that back in the 70s, Gibson did quite a few lefties, Les Pauls, SGs, etc.in various colours, because I saw many through the years, then made much less in the 80s, and now makes a lot again, although, through the custom shop.

      @@joeriffanucci Hi, please excuse me for taking so much time to answer. Yes mine, is just like yours. I loved it because of the narrow nut, kind of U shaped neck and light weight. It's incredible how the price has increased over the years, I paid around $1,000 back in the day and now they fetch around $4,000 on reverb.

    I'd love to know your signal processing Aaron. Great sounds you are making with it! I have this same guitar which I bought new in '73. Still sounds and plays awesomely. And, never had the neck break issue.

      @joeriffanucci  Год назад

      Thanks Ken! At 3:45 the little ticker at bottom of screen shows the signal chain. I’m using a tube gain device into a Gjika head and 2x12 cab. Mic is a Rode nt1 and using some plate Reverb in the protools daw😊

    • @kentaylor8004
      @kentaylor8004 Год назад

      NIce. My 73 was a cherry version which I decided to strip to the natural mahogany (when I was young and dumb). Still has a red glow, but I’m sure it didn’t do any wonders for the resale value (I’m not selling)! There are still a couple of patches of the original finish inside the horns. It still plays great and even better without a finish on the neck.

    • @joeriffanucci
      @joeriffanucci  Год назад +1

      @@kentaylor8004 I think that happens a lot. Mine is fading to mahogany color too. The back of the neck is a worn brown cherry. In the sun it’s pretty weird. Gibson used some strange finish back then. I’ve struggled with having too much gloss on necks. Careful Steel wool on some of my guitars.
