    Hello Matthew, I am from Spain, I'm 15 years old and i am a very lonely guy, I don't have friends, and my mother sleep at day because she works at night, and I don't blame her, you know? And you are a inspiration for me, you inspire me to continue playing, you and Randy Rhoads.
    With you I learn about guitars, English, and the best guitars passing over your hands over the time.
    And maybe you don't know but for the people you are a RUclipsr, for others like me you are a Friend

    O my Matt I'm 60 years young and you just transported me back to 1975 and 9th grade. That guitar has a wonderful swampy sound - I mean that in the best possible way. I'm getting an Allman brothers flashback with the ghosts of some Dominoes floating around in my apartment notwithstanding the fact that I don't think anyone in those bands played SGs.or did they?
    Once again just a wonderful video for a fossil (lower case) like me.👍

  • @secretdaisy6484
    @secretdaisy6484 3 года назад

    Hey Matthew - I had a Les Paul that was somewhere between 72 & 74. It was solid walnut, no pickguard, rosewood or ebony fretboard, I can't remember but it had 2 regular humbuckers which were in black frames or whatever you call the screw in metal rectangles around the pick up. The trus cover said The Paul on it. It didn't have any frills, no binding or pickguard. I got it from a guy who was an electrical engineer & played the guitar with a band all the way through college. I'm pretty sure he did some fancy upgrades to the pickups, pots, wiring or something because it was the best sounding LP I ever played. I got a new American Strat & sold the LP to a fellow art student who desperately needed a better guitar for his band. At that time I was in the ’1 guitar is enough mode’. Oh boy have I learned from people like you that it isn't a bad thing to have several guitars. I would have kept the LP if I'd known it was ok to have more than 1 guitar. Duh. That SG looks very similar to my LP in several ways. It sounds great. 🎵 Be safe. 👍☮️🌞🦠😷🎸

    I'm not usually a huge fan of SGs, but MAN, with that bigsby and that walnut finish, this may be the most beautiful SG I've ever seen. Also, love the harmonica bridge, looks awesome, interesting that the larger width can make it more accurate... makes total sense, but I never thought of it.

    I've got one just like it. Never thought I'd see that color again. Serial Number 738391, not too far off yours. Same dark, dark brown color. Definitely not the cherry you mostly see. American Airlines busted the neck. It was my main guitar for years in a band. The closest I got to figuring out what year it was (thanks, Gibson, for the byzantine serial numerology) was 1970-72. Cool to see it!

      @@charlieeng2553 This was 25 years ago. I didn't have a flight case, just the hard case it came in. It was heartbreaking when I realized what happened. The break was at the usual place - headstock area. American Airlines wouldn't pay for a neck splice, only a glue job, which actually has worked really well, but I think I just got lucky. I suspect the best thing to do is get a flight case.

    • @charlieeng2553
      @charlieeng2553 3 года назад

      @@kendraznik3078 Thank you Ken, I'll plan to put a lot of foam in the head stock area to not let it move and will do the same on top of the main body to press hold it in place to not let it move much. My case is not a flight case either.
