- Sorry Guys for such a LONG video, but doing things like this I believe must be gone over step by step.
You can skip straight to the tutorial by going to 5:35. I seem to talk TOO much most of the time. LOL
Here's all the files: mega.nz/#!JlIh...
Background music found here: • Meteor - Parallel Live...
Dude, THANK YOU. I have an old Note 3 and you just breathed new life into it as your instructions worked.
I'm now running LineageOS thanks to you.👍👏👏👏
You are a life saver. I've been trying to find the correct files, but they're all broken links now. It was so nice to come to this video and have them all in a non-broken zip.
Thanks SO MUCH!
Now, to set up the Note 3 as a server for my 3d printer!
Thank you so much!!! I was stuck after a full day of trying to get LineageOS on my Note 3. You had all the files needed and the directions were perfect. I appreciate your thoroughness.
Just don't use this particular rom I used in this video, u may or may not have data. I didnt and many others didn't either.
Thank you SO MUCH man. I couldn't for the life of me find the right files. Thank you so much for keeping the mega online.
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much for the step by step...
Thanks for this. You showed a lot of the steps that nobody else would cover
Bobby I got to tell you ...I have been screwing around with this root bull shit for almost 6 months...saw 50 or so instructions on how to do it and everything but yours did not work...loud music someone pushing a bunch of button that were so fast I could not even guess what they were doing. Yours has been great....got everything done 10 min ago. Thank you very much...wes
wesley staley Are u having data issues? I have 2 people with this problem.
Thanks, great video helped me a LOT! Wish more people watch your vids!
Hello Bobby, thanks for the tutorial! I was able to do every step until the part where the sd card was wiped. How did you install your files onto the sd card? I tried copying the files over but just shows the Up A Level option.
The files need to be .zip files.
You sir, are a genius. Many Thanks.
Fantastic video. After researching for two days, learning a lot, I feel like I've found my sherpa!
I see from comments you're now running a Jasmine rom. I am too, 5.0, updated after holding out forever just to get a couple apps working on the newer Android platform. Problem is, I'm unsure on how to get xposed back, hence the research. Actually, coming from 4.4.2 rooted (towel) having safestrap recovery, xposed, and everything I loved, I was quite surprised to see I'd lost custom recovery, and had a whole new challenge with installing xposed, etc, on this new rom.
Are you running rooted Jasmine 6.0 now with xposed? It would be a great help to see an xposed install tutorial on your Jasmine rom.
Hopefully in the next couple days I'll start the process you're detailed in this tutorial, and arrive at Jasmine 6.0.
Huge thanks for taking the time to make this video, fantastic!
The ROM needs to be deodexed.
27:13 there's an SDCard-less version. The SDCard is only used for saving the debrick image. It's on the same XDA thread.
Hey Bobby thanks for the video. Question how do you remove the custom lock from the phone? When the phone is powered on that's when the custom lock appears.
Only way is to go back stock. That lock tells you that's it's custom and rooted now and not stock.
@@Bobby8451would the bootloader lock if I went back to stock?
@@SSin-er4jy Yes
@@SSin-er4jy Why do u not like the harmless lock logo?? Lol I have that on my Note 4 and S6.
@@Bobby8451I miss back when it was like this. Nowadays it makes the boot process longer on purpose.
I've used this method twice now with success and wanted to thank you for making the video. Question for you, have you ever installed Jasmine v6.1 ROM being on 5.0?? Most tutorials are coming from KitKat. I have a N900V that I've rooted and unlocked and am waiting to install TWRP recovery on and would like to flash Jasmine v6.1 but am unsure it will work.
Actually I'm running Jasmine v6.0. Works really well. Haven't tried v6.1. Didn't know it was out.
@@Bobby8451 What version of TWRP and odin do you recommend using for 6.0? I have the zip files ready to go for 6.0. Couldn't find a good mirror to grab 6.1.
@@ninfelise When I use odin, I usually use the 3.10 version. As for twrp, I'll have to check out what version I'm using, but it's in the download in description.
Edit the url to say htlevzw, rather than htle, so you can keep service.
Its all here. Everything is here.
I hope...lol
on the CMD when copy pasting commands, the second line isnt working "ADB Push Unlock_n3 /data/local/tmp/" i get ADB is not recognized internal or external command
After about 4 hours i managed to get past that point by downloading android apk development kit or something and downloading a whole bunch of other stuff and one by one trial and error putting files in folders and whatnot.
Anyways, now im stuck at installing the recovery thing with Odin. it keeps saying "Failed". Im not sure what the problem is, unless theres more missing files I need to go find? Thank you
Did you unlock the bootloader? Is the USB connection stable?
When I get to last item to install rom file it shows nothing. I have a 32gb usb drive how do I use it to install rom info? And any other items that I need. Do I extract files to usb drive to work? Other than that everything works great. Thanks for your help
Hi Bobby, will this work on Note 4 Verizon N910V unlocked with Android 6.01? I'm seeing all these videos on rooting and they say not on this one. Thanks!
This is not for the Note 4, but I do have a tutorial on how to root the Note 4 verizon model.
Here's those vids: Pretty much part 1 just unlocking boot loader-ruclips.net/video/dhcV93GuHB4/видео.html
Part 2 installing 6.01- ruclips.net/video/iV3kXYBWjOI/видео.html
@@Bobby8451 Thank you, I'm sorry I posted my question on this video, you are so kind, I meant the Note 4 video I downloaded the .rar file but I don't know how to downgrade from Android 6.01 to the 5.01 version, but I have to do that first right? Is there a video for that anywhere. Also did you know the video that you're calling Part 2, above is deleted? Don't know why YT deleted it.
@@Bobby8451 Hi Bobby, Thank you again, I just want you to know that when you click on Part 2 link, it says it's got content from SM, and they've blocked it in the US due to copyright something. So please click on it to see that. And I need to downgrade the Android version first, to follow the tutorial, I'm understanding, I just don't know how to go about learning to do that. I haven't found any instructions on that. Do you know of any? Thanks so much again. Ajnira
@@AjniraBloom Everything works fine on my end. Not sure really what's going on.
lol i got to the last one and i think my phone bricked. i keep geting the message "process system isnt responding" and black screen behind it. wtf and when i try to do something like touch the screen it reboots. same process repeats all over again. now wat?
Took me a couple of times watching the video, but I finally got my Galaxy Note 3 Verizon rooted and the boot loader unlocked so I could install the custom recovery and then Lineageos 14.1. One thing I'm wondering, is I did get it rooted, and was able to install everything I needed. However, not long after I got 14.1 installed, it's not showing rooted any more. I'm glad, because I didn't want the potential security hole that a rooted device could be. Just wondering if that's expected behavior?
On the whole, your video was more in depth, and I was finally able to get everything done I needed to get done. I now have a much more usable Galaxy Note 3 in the process. :D
Most likely it's not a rooted rom. If u want just go here (download.chainfire.eu/1113/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.82-20170528234214.zip or www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=download.chainfire.eu/supersu&ved=2ahUKEwjChZaQtZHfAhUBT98KHRtLAOQQFjACegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw01g861ihuXnpagHs12Xey7&cshid=1544312786904) and copy the zip file on the root of ur SD card and install it and that's all u do, ur rooted again. Not sure if u know, but u may have to install GAPPS (google apps), if so go here ( opengapps.org ) Select accordingly, it is recommended to download nano but I download one up from that. Hope this helps alittle more.
@@Bobby8451 Thanks. I did see all the instructions to install GAPPS, and have done so. Just found a version of Oreo for the Note 3, and may be installing that. Not sure if I want a rooted phone, because you have to go through all the extra stuff to keep it safe while rooted. I'm thinking as long as I can install the latest version of Android, which I now can thanks to your instructions and video, I'm good. Maybe you can tell me what the advantages of having a permanently rooted phone might be? Otherwise, I think I'll keep things as they are.
@@CarrollMcAllister I mainly now use it to use Titanium backup and I use sixaxis controller app to use my ps3 with my emulators.
@@Bobby8451 Ok, thanks. I don't know that I need to use that. I know it's a slower, online backup, but the backup to my Google Drive, although slow to restore on a new phone, works. On the "it was rooted, and now it isn't" front, I've now loaded an Oreo custom ROM on it. Even after wiping everything and installing the new custom ROM, it still shows as rooted to at least one app I run, Lastpass, my password manager. Yet, when I load the Root checker app, it reports Root as "not properly installed". I thought maybe my security software, Lookout, was blocking attempts to check for Root. So, I did the "Root check" before installing Lookout. Same result. Just to see, I tried installing SuperSU, and it reported "Root not installed", or words to that effect.
@@CarrollMcAllister Oh lastpass, I heard about that listening to The Tech Guy Leo Laporte. He says it's really good. As for root not properly installed, which super SU u using?? Try this one and see. download.chainfire.eu/1220/SuperSU/SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip
Nothing seems to happen when I click "Read Phone Info" with the Arabic Tool. Pretty sure I have developer mode on by tapping build over and over. Any other ideas?
Turn on USB debugging.
Will all of this work with a Sprint Note 3?
No, only verizon.
Great video but I cannot find the tools. Arabic Tool does not seem to exist. All links to it seem to be dead. Do you have a copy of the zip file I could get?
I do. Send me your email.
I installed this ROM everything went smooth but I have no LTE or mobile data of any kind. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hello, thanks for your video, however I could not install the recovery, the phone program tells me that it is not the correct version. could you help me??
I haven't messed with this in a long time. Not sure what the problem would be. I'd have to look at the vid again.

@@BoneHead-Gaming Was a pot file in the download? I haven't had the chance yet to look into it.
After doing the first set command prompt command. I put the second adb shell and it tells me error: device not found. The first set of the prompt went good but now after retyping everything because I thought I missed something, now it tells list of devices attached even though it doesn't show the device. everything worked at first until I reach the second command prompt, now nothing is working. Please help.
I would try this, go into "settings" and then to "developer options". Scroll down to where u see usb debugging and right under that there should be an option which says " revoke usb debugging authorizations". Click it and then replug up phone to computer.
@@Bobby8451 ok thank you, I'll try it out and hopefully it works.

Bad title, geez every time I open a video. they start doing everything but what the title says. I just wanted to unlock the boat loader like ther title says. I want the most current pie rom. But that video doesn't show you how to unlock the boot loader or rom the Samsung Verizon US note 3. Very confusing
If u watch from 5:38 to 8:27, I show how to use Odin to downgrade back to 5.0 with the baseband ending in OB6. If u want to update ur kernel, recovery, baseband to OF1, then watch from 10:30 to 16:43 (This is optional). If u want to break boot, then u HAVE TO ROOT, whether it be temporary root or permanent root like I achieved with that Arabic tool program. U need root to push a command over to ur phone using cmd on pc. Watch from 20:20 to 34:25 for root and then from 34:25 to 38:45 I install custom recovery. Then you'll have a note 3 with unlocked bootloader with custom recovery and u can now install whatever custom rom u want. Hope this helps. I do talk ALOT so be patient. Lol
Solved the problem with the reboot recovery, now I'm getting a fail when using odin to install the twrp img.tar from the recoveries folder. it keeps failing at the authorization stage. what could cause this issue?
Stacey Moore So u saying odin 3 is not recognizing us phone? If that's the case u need to make sure it usb debugging is checked. If it and it still won't recognize, just go to " developer options " tab in settings and right under usb debugging you'll see an option that says something like deny authorization. So that's what u want to do, after that recheck the usb debugging and hook phone back up to computer and something will pop up on it phone. Just check " always from this computer" and hit ok. You should be set.
I am having the same issue. When I load Odin with twrp-2.8.7.0-hltevzw-4.4.img I get a Failed Authorization Recovery error and I have made sure the USB Debug is checked.
hi, I'm having problems at 22:17 where you check "read phone info" i did everything up to this point but mine says "this version is not updated, please updated to 5.0 but Mine is 5.0 what is going on?
What's the last 3 letters or #'s ur build # ends with? Don't know if it's the program or phone. Never had this problem.
The XDA thread says to set the program to use Windows 7 compatibility mode.
hey i get everything right till flashing TWRP, it comes out as fail , please help
Can I switch from iOS emoji to Android without having to do a fresh install and if so how?
hi is there way to remove pin lock on note 3 usb debugging is off thanks don't want to lose my pics thanks
Will this work on AT&T note 3?
please, does this method work with latest n900v bootloader PL1?
No. It is failing. Did you find a solution?
bobby im not getting proper signals of simcard after flashing custom rom what can i do now ??
Proper signals?? Try the Jasmine version 6 rom. I'll have to find the link for ya.
Just noticed your phone says note 4 not note 3...whats up with that?
wesley staley That's impossible, lol, where u see that at, cause this phone is a genuine Note 3.
Hahaha idiot see the camera position
After rooting my data doesn't seem to work. I tried checking the APN settings but it won't let me add or edit. On Verizon mvno.
Steve Stahovec What rom u on? U on Jasmine? And what's "mvno"?
Stock rom 5.0 with page plus (verizon)
5.0 with Page plus( Verizon)
Steve Stahovec Are u on a custom Rom or just rooted it stock Note 3?
Yes, looking to find out what can be used for rooting if I have PL1...
Did you find something?
Back to start..using Arabic root will not recognize the phone...I go root before by ignoring Arabic root for hours and just finding out much later that it recognized the phone and got root. Is this an issue with Arabic root or just me being stupid? Did the reinstall of 5.0 then the of1 upgrade (lost root after that) now no recognition ...wes
wesley staley Its it usb debugging mode it sounds like. U have to go into settings, "about phone", then tap on build about 7 times to enable developer options. Go into developer options and check off usb debugging. If it's already checked off and u still have a problem then simply tap on the option under usb debugging to deny authorization, then recheck usb debugging and a window should pop up asking u "always allow from this computer" check it off and hit ok. U should be ready to go.
wesley staley Start watching at 18:09 to see what I'm talking about.
Will this work on Android 4.4.2 gt19205
