if you never had a roted phone before enjoy the functionality with magisc and xposed(gravitybox = best) and enjoy battery life with greenify .. you can also use "android tool" to further debloat the remaining apps that you want on your phone .. many apps have services but shouldnt , you can turn off those services and modules with android tool , battery life = 3 days
wonderful, thanks for helping me to play with galaxy grand prime but installing the oldest version of magisk is troublesome it is fortunate that magisk has its own uninstaller reinstall the newest magisk version did give me a great day have a great phone ! see this great youtube series

Dude I love you soo much finally got my root to work on norma n7 for note 4, When I first flashed that rom I diodnt have sms or data working so I flashed a fix for it, then root wasint working with magiks so I used your 16.4 zip and it worked, 16,0,17.0,17.1didnt work and I tiried them like 20 time, thank you soo much now I can get "High..... on Android" Thank you man you're the best!!

Dear Max, I have two important questions Can we do a complete backup before installing TWRP, root using Titanium backup? i.e without root can we backup app data and files using titanium backup? and Will wiping using TWRP remove all the things in folders such as Downloads, Camera, etc.

Superuser access for gsi is easier because you patch your stock firmware boot.img with the latest magisk apk then flash the patched boot image in fastboot mode.
If you remove TWRP, your custom ROM is still there. TWRP gets installed into recovery partition, separate from system partition so does not affect how a custom ROM runs. If you want to remove custom ROM or change to another ROM, you can use TWRP recovery so pretty much good idea to leave it unless you want to restore 100% stock firmware. In that case, simply unroot using ODIN and stock firmware.

so when i downlod the twrp file i get a zip file i extract the zip file and i get a folder with twrp name in the folder there is a recovery one should i select the recovery one on the odin or i just select the twrp zip file and its all good?

first I wanna start off by saying thanks for your videos max.(they helped me greatly in the past) secondly I wanted to try this method with a new device ( galaxy j7 star/ sm-j737t) no root but I don't think it could work. (well since it's a US tmobile model and it's new) but all in all I still appreciate all the info provided. ^_^

His tutorial is worth downloading..of all the tutorials that where intimidating me from rooting, this one gave me confidence. a tutorial guide... well detailed and clear enough for a first timer like me...now i have rooted my old samsung galaxy J1 mini prime (sm-106H) smoothly. But had to listen to his video for 2 days though, just to do it right. & i couldn't find my phone's twrp at (twrp.me)... but found my twrp at the xda website under the heading Galaxy J1 Mini Prime SM-J106 Samsung Galaxy Mini...20sept,2017(someone with the same phone might need this for that was my challenge in all this)... a zip file with my phone's twrp and an extra su root file in it, i ignored the su root file, took the twrp2850_v003.tar.md5 file...removed the ''.md5'' words on name into an extention of ''.tar'' only ( twrp2850_v003.tar) infromation i got from the xda and then flashed the twrp with odin magisk root and with all the other important required tools for safer rooting of complicated phones..from highonandroid & i had no problems in rooting and installing magisk . thank you Mr Lee.

I was able to root mu SM-A310F (A3 2016) using your method, and then i tried to install Vanced youtube from magisk manager and i turned off oem unlock before doing that. So the phone restarted after installing youtube and now i am stuck in a bootloop, saying Custom recovery blocked by FRP. ODIN also doesnt work due to the block. What should i do?

The 7 day jail can be overcome easily by changing the system date to 8 days ago, and then a few easy settings you can search online with "Galaxy not showing OEM unlock".
Not for Samsung phones, you cannot flash with TWRP app unless you have root first. I don't recommend the app much as there are too many things that can go wrong even if you have root.
Max Lee Yeh I forgot to mention I am rooted but I carried out said procedure on Thursday on my old note 4 running stock debloated 6.1. Had enough of these half baked, bits missing so called custom roms. Keep up the good work btw, I watch all your videos..
When i try to get into TWRP, it boots into downloadmode again It worked on my friends phone but not on mine, which is the exact same S10+ I cant even reboot in my OS, only in DWNLDMD. So i downloaded a SamFirm and now i can get back into the OS but still, not able to flash TWRP and boot into it :/ Someone had the same issue and know how to fix it?

check XDA developers. Your phone may be too new to have a root method. You can try kingroot, if that works then download super su me apk. It gets rid of kingroot.

Max, in Odin options if you uncheck Reboot, Odin wont reboot the phone after flashing TWRP and you will have time to reboot phone manually into recovery.

My Samsung Xcove 3 is not showing up in Odin after Devoloper options enabled and oem unlock and usb debugging is on. someone could help?
Try using a different USB cable and/or computer

The 7 day jail can be overcome easily by changing the system date to 8 days ago, and then a few easy settings you can search online with "Galaxy not showing OEM unlock".

What if you accidentally did not click 'Do not install' during the TWRP rebooting? Can I just uninstall when it's done?
Does it usually take a while to boot after flashing Magisk? Mine took 2 hours+ and still on Samsung logo screen..
I'm using Samsung J4 Core but apparently there's OEM Unlock Jail, so should I use the modified Magisk for S9?
@@minamopen it's just the Official TWRP App (It's an application btw.)
You can use the TWRP app to flash the recovery and for rebooting into recovery as well
Not for Samsung phones, you cannot flash with TWRP app unless you have root first. I don't recommend the app much as there are too many things that can go wrong even if you have root.
Max Lee Yeh I forgot to mention I am rooted but I carried out said procedure on Thursday on my old note 4 running stock debloated 6.1. Had enough of these half baked, bits missing so called custom roms. Keep up the good work btw, I watch all your videos..
When i try to get into TWRP, it boots into downloadmode again

I cant even reboot in my OS, only in DWNLDMD. So i downloaded a SamFirm and now i can get back into the OS but still, not able to flash TWRP and boot into it :/

check XDA developers. Your phone may be too new to have a root method. You can try kingroot, if that works then download super su me apk. It gets rid of kingroot.

Hey man this worked awsomely all rooted on my galaxy s7. Trying to run pokemon go and the only method i can find that may work requires root to make system apps and then unroot. Is there an option anywhere to unroot?
Use Magisk hide feature
just use magisk hide. i use it to run Snapchat on my rooted S7.

I can flash it and it says "done" but when I try to start in "Recovery Mode" than it is still the classic original Recevory and not twrp

Max, in Odin options if you uncheck Reboot, Odin wont reboot the phone after flashing TWRP and you will have time to reboot phone manually into recovery.
I tried each but ended with this error - "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed(recovery) " how can I move forward from there?
