The Milwaukee Tool M18 FUEL 16 Gauge Straight Finish Nailer uses a nitrogen air spring mechanism. With that Spring mechanism, the 16 Gauge Straight Finish Nailer allows you to consistently sink nails to your required depth in hard and soft woods while leaving clean nail holes, making for repeatable results and easy filling.
The nitrogen air spring mechanism, combined with a Brushless Motor, delivers a pneumatic-like nailing response with zero ramp-up time from nail to nail.
This cordless finish nailer features a compact and ergonomic design providing access to tight spaces where nailing is required while limiting fatigue when using the tool.
When paired with an M18 CP2.0 battery pack, this battery-powered nailer fires up to 700 nails per charge and is fully compatible with all M18 batteries.

What is the difference of this new 16 ga straight with the previous one? In the video you can see that the "NO MAR" tip is different and the ignition and firing selection is not behind but forward
In very tight spaces previous (angled) you could fit it somehow in and put the nail , with new one no longer .
wish i bought the 16ga instead of my 18ga first
as someone doing home projects and renos its expensive to drop a grand on nailers... but hauling a compressor around sucks even more
Why the 16 over the 18?
@danthechippie4439 I find the 18ga doesn't hold baseboards well and I need to use lots of nails. Would rather just fill a larger hole
@@danthechippie4439 It's the best of both worlds because it's inbetween the 15 and 18 gauge. U can still do delicate projects while having way better sheer strength.
Can it fit 5/8 or 3/4 nails
Please help and make me understand,what is the difference between an 18 gauge and this 16 gauge so that I will not just end up in duplicating these nailers.I have invested in bunch of them (Milwaukee) and from the look of things,they have now started having them in generations.
@@abibodlogistics it is basically the thickness of the nail. 16 guage is a larger and stronger nail. 18 gauge is thinner and typically shorter while not being as strong.

Yes. They have not had new ones for some time, but they have been reliable for me.

I would say it’s not the Gen 3 it’s just a other addition to there cordless finishing nailer .. they have already a 16ga with a angle magazine … this one is also 16ga just with straight magazine. And why they did who knows …
I send an email to Milwaukee months ago asking for a gen 2 straight nailer. I was told it was in the pipeline.

Wish they would give us easy access to recharge the tank when needed but looks like it dosent have a port u will have to open the tool to recharge

@@hectortoledo5914 My understanding is that Milwaukee’s cordless nailers are designed to be maintenance-free for as long as you use them.
They’re not supposed to need maintenance, servicing, or refilling. To date, I have not heard of any Milwaukee cordless nailers losing power over time, or leaking air/nitrogen.

Why would a person get a straight finish nailer? I have an angled one and I can't imagine using a straight because the nail holder area would be hitting my work area like baseboards all the time.
I was thrown by the straight also.
Straight nails are cheaper. It matters when I can easily go through 2500 nails a day building and hanging cabinets
Finding and sharing straight porter cable mails is my guess

Like everything, they had a good design and they destroyed it with this new piece of junk. Glad I have the original one. All these new Gen 2 guns they made have this large cartridge on the right side that makes it difficult to get into corners. But you fail to show that in the video. Just like the stupid switches being put under the handle. Must be made for little chinese hands to look for the tiny buttons. Not to mention how stupid the angle of the battery is now. The old guns would stand perfect with a HO 3.0 Battery laying flat on the entire battery.
One thing all you video makes can't understand is that people doing finish work on expensive projects are not buying these guns to shoot a million nails a minute. Speed work is why so many new homes fall apart and results in the work being redone soon after.
I like your videos, but I think you should not always upsell a new product just cause it's new. It's better if the Milwaukee reps see the stupid design flaws and corrects them.
But it just reminds me of all the fools who bragged up the Aluminum Ford Super Duty and the end result is we are stuck with it thanks to the people who were afraid to speak the truth. It's No wonder us older folks can honestly say the original old stuff is always better than the new sloppy second hand releases.
