Thank you for the interview and coverage on this momentous occasion! It was awesome hearing directly from the crew of both planes. I was outside stacking firewood on Friday evening June 23rd and I heard the unmistakable sound of the B52 engines roaring above and I could not believe my eyes when I saw the KC135 tanker and the B52 bomber flying side by side right over my house. Haven’t seen these planes here since Griffiss AFB closed in the mid 1990’s and I immediately starting taking pictures. The B52 then did a go around and flew right over my house again. I did hear them during the week and I did see them take off on Friday morning on the 30th. I sure hope we will see them again at Griffiss International Airport formerly Griffiss AFB the people of Rome loved seeing the planes and brought back so many memories!

Wish I saw them too! I remember camping at the base with the Boy Scouts in 1972-the B52s thundered in at night disturbing our sleep!!
Man I feel so old. I was stationed at Griffiss from Sep 83 to Jan 88. Was in the aero club and flew out of the base many times. So many memories
