- The Clemson Tigers defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 41-10, in Week 1 of the college football regular season on Monday. DJ Uiagalelei threw for 209 YDS and 1 TD while Will Shipley led the Tigers in rushing with 42 YDS and 2 TDs in their win.

Even though GA Tech loss I was impressed to see them go toe to toe with Clemson the first half.
Clemson is working The kinks out they have new coaches they have players that are finally healthy, people who know Clemson knew that they would turn it on and win the game.

I’m a student at Clemson, there were a ton of us watching this game. That first interception went crazy. Then the first touchdown went even crazier. I know it might’ve not been great for GT fans after the first half, but it was an amazing game in my opinion. That punt block??? Really great.

I really am rooting for DJ because he went to my HS and killed it there. That being said that backup looked better in one drive than DJ's entire time at Clemson. I think it's time for Dabo to pull the trigger and at a minimum start splitting time between the two.
I get your point, but NOT entire time, in that OT loss to Notre Dame 2 years back DJ balled out, over 400 passing yards. But I do think Cade has a higher ceiling and brings more to he table with his rollouts and overall movement, I wish DJ well, but more than anything I want the Tigers to WIN.

He had a rough first half for sure. I think a lot of that was play calling too. He didn't get to throw it much unless it was down and distance...and even then, it was a lot of quick lateral throws. He looked good when he threw the ball vertically. Great reads, good throws. A lot of drops. Receivers weren't getting open. Oline needs a lot of work on the right side. It's early. Clemson always looks rough early in the season. A lot of that looked bad for DJ but I don't think it's fair to put that all on him. He made some great plays for us out there. I wouldn't write him off yet.
I see a Lawrence/Bryant situation, by the 3-4th game, the switch needs to be made... for Clemson to have a chance they need the freshman to start asap so by the end of the year he will have more experience, with DJ they have NO chance, the offense looks like it's in slow motion

Rooting for DJ this year, but I just don't know. He goes through his progressions painfully slow which will limit what they can call for him.. and better defenses will pick up on that and continue to give him problems all year.
And now no one in the ACC is scared of Clemson. Also the targeting rule is hot garbage. If the defender put his head down to go into the chest the runner subsequently lowers his head and they hit heads it's the runner's fault not the defenders.
And had zero to do with final score.
Tackling with your head instead of your arms has nothing to do with the runner, poor tackling practice. Tackle with your arms body not your head. The defenders fault........

Im young enough to remember seeing what DJ looked like behind an “okay” offensive line filling in for Lawrence. How he went from that to trash is mind blowing…. until you remember that it’s FOOTBALL and QBs go as their supporting casts go. It’s no coincidence that the guy called the best QB of this decade also has had by far the best supporting cast of the last 5 years. Mahomes has had the most weapons in the NFL til now and a top 10 o-line since his rookie year.
It’s not just the O-Line it’s the terrible play calling and design. Every passes was a deep drop back and then wait till things unfolded. Where are the screens, 5 yard outlets, draw plays and boots? The play caller knows the line is suspect and he’s just asking EJ to stand back there and hope. Clemson has the players, but all the coaches suck!
You have to watch the games because it’s not all the offensive line fault DJ struggles to throw outside the numbers I feel like every pass was a RPO or a screen like legit they barely can connect on passes farther than 20 yards at against good defenses and more talented teams they are going to get shredded

Kid had way too much hype coming out of high school to still be playing like this. I’m a Clemson fan, so I agree with you. He only looked good his Freshman year because he was only behind Trevor who held that sh*t down. I like DJ, but he needs a lot of work
It's unbelievable how much people talk about offensive line. We ALL know deep down that line play is the biggest excuse people use to defend a QB. Its just so disingenuous to me. If you're going to talk about O-line play at least put some time stamps to emphasize your point. I just hate how people who bring up O-line usually do it because they know it kind of gets lost in the blur of the game. So it's easy to convince people the O-line was trash if they even remember a sack or two from the game.

Cade is definetly the guy. I think Dabo doesnt wanna bench DJ yet cuz he knows DJ will transfer out and Clemson will be down to two scholarship QBs.
If Dabo is going to bench him, he will do it before DJs year of eligibility is wasted.
He's not. going to bench him because he knows he can win most of the games with the defense and DJ is big and won't likely get hurt. However, he must know that unless they start Cade at some point, they won't win against good teams.
Cade looked good but it was one series against a gassed GA tech defense IN GARBAGE time and they weren't even trying to cover lol. Give him time to develop , that offensive line is atrocious and they can risk ruining him by just trotting him out there. That being said, Clemson's defense is really great.

Offensive line has actually improved if u watched the game ur just on here talking . It’s not the line it’s the dj…… ur offensive line doesn’t have to work as hard when u have a qb that moves naturally in the pocket. Dj is a standing statue and it was the same issue with tahj Boyd. Dj movement has gotten better but they’re making him a duel threat which IS NOT his style.

Most points they’ve put up in a long time. Definitely improved from last year, but rn this team can’t compete with UGA or Bama. Will probably have trouble with better ACC teams as well.
However, Klubnik scored on his first drive and the offense overall clicked better with him in the game. He effortlessly moved the ball and looked confident doing it. I think with him under center, you’ve got a team that can compete.

Man they will have you thinking Kentucky is known for football and not basketball. They had Spencer Rattler and one of USuc WR in the top three of the best QB/WR combinations for this year

For all the flack DJ is getting and much of it is warranted, I'd been hearing all preseason that Clemson's o line was gonna be much better. I don't think this o line protected DJ well at all. And by the time Cade came in, that was GT's reserves.

He’s very indecisive too, for someone who’s been behind Trevor Lawrence he should move a lot better with the ball. The line can only hold defenders off for so long, he needs to learn how to escape and make a play out the pocket.’

QBs has historically gotten far too much hype and folks seem to forget that they need above average skill players plus above average O line to consistently succeed. I like offensive football but each time there's a 40 plus yard pass completion or TD one has to remember that it wouldn't happen without someone being able to catch the ball. It's not just the QB, it's the team

Nothing about clemson was impressive. GT drove on them all game but couldn't stop shooting themselves in the foot. Offense couldn't run the ball with 5 people in the box. I wish offensive targeting was a thing btw cuz that's really just unfair.
