Wow, what a wonderful video. My 4 budgies are eating machines and yes. they poop every 15 minutes. Donna, you certainly know your s__t. Never knew that birds poop and urinate at the same time; glad I keep their cages clean. I will remember to mist the poo before removal cleaning. My budgies would hate misting but drink water daily, so at least I know they are hydrated. Love seeing Galaxy and Willow in this video. Yay Jack; love seeing the short clip.

Hi i have a bird who has seizures and unfortunately who lost his ability to fly I’m just wondering do you have any suggestions for reasonably priced cages for a special needs bird as he keep falling off perches when he has a seizure so I need to get him a different cage do you have any suggestions for a cage or any links that could help

My cockatiel had black feces several days ago. Urates and urine looked fine. She ate nothing that would have caused this. Any ideas? I’m concerned it was occult blood. I did call my vet and since her droppings did get back to normal, he wasn’t concerned.
Hiya Donna, i finially found you.Sometimes i see you come on and lose you.Thank you for that extremely in formative video.My bird, Stormy is going for his yearly physical tues. I have to catch him cause when he sees the carrier he runs under furniture.I usually have a compleat CBC done and a gram stain .Hes getting a wing and nail trim too.They only clip his wings in a baby clip.They make sure he wouldnt hit the floor when landing.He does make a big poop in the morning and he has nutriberries alternating with avai cakes in the morning with blueberries.His dropping are then deep blue.I noticed you mentioned other tests on poop besides a gram stain.Should i have other tests on his poop when i go on tuesday? Hi. A gram stain is usually the normal test the vet does unless there is a reason to do the other tests. The gram stain tests for bacteria. A fecal flotation checks for parasites. If the bird shows symptoms of parasites or is an outdoor bird with access to the ground then the vet will do a flotation test. If the vet finds anything abnormal in the feces then other tests may be required such as a culture and sensitivity test or other tests.

Hi, its best to talk to your avian vet. My vet said that bubbly poop can be sometimes normal for birds and sometimes a problem.
Your vet can do fecal tests and blood work etc.
