I'm unsure about a kindle just don't know how much I would use it. I also get migraines if I have too much screen time. I am running out of space for physical books though. Rhapsodic is great I think you might enjoy the Bargainer series.
Having the warm/cool adjustment and being able to have it on night mode (black screen, white text) may help. But the one thing I don't love is that it seems like you pretty much have to have KU for it to be worth it and read at least 1-2 books from it a month to get your "money's worth" of the $10-12 subscription fee. Even then it doesn't really feel like the books are yours. I'm sure there's ways around that and to download other books without KU (how I got manacled) but it is much more of a process that I haven't totally figured out yet. But it is a nice way to try new genres or authors you don't want to directly spend money on and then have to deal with the physical book clutter (but then again there is always the library lol). Pros and cons for sure!! And it's not super cheap imo. I love the original cover of rhapsodic. I'll definitely get to it eventually

It was actually my first extreme horror novel that I vlogged in my clown video last November. It has great queer rep! 17:17 okay Brother isn’t disturbing for me but it’s BLEAK AS HELL. It was my last read of May and I had to shove another book in because I couldn’t end the month on such a downer 😂 25:24 I DNFed the audiobook for Hex less than 10% in but many people love it!!

Brother is actually sooo good one of my fav horrors ever. There's definitely mention of the familial things you brought up but nothing super graphic or extensive. Court of the Vampire Queen is quite literally the opposite side of the spectrum lmao. That is truly the craziest book I've read from a smut perspective. It's like 85% smut but honestly it's pretty entertaining haha. It is long tho.

Serpent is more action-packed and plot driven, but I wanted it to slow down and have more character development and romance. I'm halfway through Sic Scorched Roses (1.5) before I get to Ashes. It's great so far, all the sexy vampire vibes, and the heroine is a baddie. Yeah The Coven and The Cursed are the newer L. Harper books, also on KU. Looking forward to Hex, hope we both love it.

Gothikana was genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read. The plot was soooooooo messy and it's actually so poorly written I couldn't believe it was published. Divine Rivals is INCREDIBLE! You should absolutely pick that one up sooner rather than later. Manacled is insane and it takes you on a journey! It broke me into a million pieces and I loved every second of it (and I love that people are logging really long completed fanfic as book on goodreads now it makes me so happy!)

As long as the book is downloaded onto your library before it left KU you will still be able to read it until you return it :)
