My GSG 16 arrived yesterday and I will have to check but I don't think the disassembly screws are flat head. it came with some tiny hex keys which didn't seem to fit anything in particular ie. nothing on the rifle. Anyone care to comment? None of the screws seemed to match any tools I had in my toolbox.
That bolt stop tab (held my bolt) is held up in place by two long black rods with flathead ends on them, so the tab can’t move down… that tab will not come out for me because of those rods. What am I missing?
@@milednakhel7026 it’s been a while so I can’t remember exactly. I’ll give mine a once over tomorrow to prepare for summer and I’ll get back to you about it.
@@r3mote Never mind lol figured it out. It was a simple solution, the lever was cocked back. Simply uncock it so the two long rods go away and you can take out the tab. Thank you tho!
Funny you should mention that. You did not have to on mine. A friend of mine bought one about six months ago and with his you had to remove those first. Perhaps a slight change in design?
Omg, Im embarrassed. I realize after the fact. By setting the cock handle moves the action in such a way as to be able to remove the back stop. To be fair, your video isn't the only one to miss this step for us newbies. Otherwise, I really enjoyed your video. Cheers 🍻
I don’t know if my gsg is the only one that has this problem , but the screw or push pin that he takes out before the stock screw (infront of the trigger) I can’t get it out , everytime I turn it the other side of the screw turns as well no matter how hard I try it doesn’t budge, I don’t want to try to hard without the fear of breaking something , please help
You need to use two screw drivers. Hold the one side while turning the other side. Otherwise it won't come out and it will just turn on the opposite side like you described. Hope this helps.
I found thesd but it says i need to modify my rifle to make them fit: The standard kit includes 3 small pins & 1 large pin. You can secure your forearm and trigger group with the small pins without modification. You must alter the opening through the buttstock and trigger group housing tailpiece to use either the 3rd small pin or the large pin (9/32 or metric equivalent).
Anthony Reyes iIt sits inside a little groove or slot. So once you remove the hex bolt you need to lift it out of the slot before bringing it towards you. Hope that makes sense.
Hey man great vid! Take down doesn't seem too bad, but I remember from my MK22 (Scar clone) that it was a real bitch when you had to eventually do a detail strip of the bolt sleeve/carrier. Do you clean after every range trip? I'm curious how many rounds it takes (without cleaning) before you begin getting malfunctions?
Nick St-Jean I have never had malfunctions due to not cleaning this rifle. I cleaned it after maybe 300 rounds. So not sure how much you would have to fire it before you see carbon related issues. Thanks for supporting our channel!
How tf do you pull the stop out???? After unscrewing the bolt, a washer came out that I didn’t see in this video and then no idea what to do from there. The metal stop won’t come out
Its a bit tricky but I use a hex wrench that fits in the hole where the bolt/screw came out of. You need to lift it up out of a groove it is in instead of pulling it towards you. Hope that makes sense.
I think these are the pins rrages.com/pins/net.htm Update: got in the pins they work great. Have 1 extra small and a large pin which i dont have a use for... yet..

I’m having trouble with the ejector. The slide is stuck open. Just bought it like this from cabelas so annoying
I just left a comment on your other video asking if you can upload this. Thanks!!
2003jrF4i You are most welcome 😉
That bolt stop tab (held my bolt) is held up in place by two long black rods with flathead ends on them, so the tab can’t move down… that tab will not come out for me because of those rods. What am I missing?
Nvm I figured it out
hey man, i am having the same issue. How did you figure it out pls help?
@@milednakhel7026 it’s been a while so I can’t remember exactly. I’ll give mine a once over tomorrow to prepare for summer and I’ll get back to you about it.
@@milednakhel7026 reply with something so I have the notification to remind me. I don’t trust my memory, lol
@@r3mote Never mind lol figured it out. It was a simple solution, the lever was cocked back. Simply uncock it so the two long rods go away and you can take out the tab. Thank you tho!
why did we forget to mention the two long pins in the way of the bolt stop need to be removed 1st???
Great video thank you for sharing this
Glad you found it useful. Thanks for supporting our channel!
What can I use as a substitute for CLP?
There should be a number of alternatives available at your gun store.
Did you happen to get the takedown pins yet? Thanks
Not yet, but I am planning on getting some.
Ok keep us posted. Do you take the optic or red dots offfor every cleaning?
@@binkyana Nope I leave them on. In this case I was in the middle of switching back to the red dot after using a scope for the accuracy video.
Could i remove the faux suppressor?
I don't believe you can
Yes you can.... There is a set screw and then it slips off
Nice work
Thankyou.
Are they the hk g3 pins?
I found thesd but it says i need to modify my rifle to make them fit:
The standard kit includes 3 small pins & 1 large pin. You can secure your forearm and trigger group with the small pins without modification. You must alter the opening through the buttstock and trigger group housing tailpiece to use either the 3rd small pin or the large pin (9/32 or metric equivalent).
What if the bolt stop doesn’t want to come out
Anthony Reyes iIt sits inside a little groove or slot. So once you remove the hex bolt you need to lift it out of the slot before bringing it towards you. Hope that makes sense.
@@BlackBearOutdoors Thankyou for your help grate video
@@anthonyreyes6046 Hope it was helpful :)
do you happen to have a link for the pins?
I think HK Parts in the US carries them and Wolverine supplies in Canada does also.
You can even use MP5 push pins from airsoft, I did that with my last GSG16 I had....I seriously regret selling it especially with the 9” barrel it had
@@BlackBearOutdoors Right on. Thanks for the info!
I cant get my stop block out anyone know why??
You didn't charge it ( wen put it altogether) with the bolt lever.that would confirm it was working and ready to ROCK!!
I think these are the pins rrages.com/pins/net.htm
Update: got in the pins they work great. Have 1 extra small and a large pin which i dont have a use for... yet..
I believe these are the ones that fit the GSG 16 www.wolverinesupplies.com/ProductDetail/HK1200459_-HK-Push-Pin-for-MP5--G3--HK33-ECT---will-fit-ISSC-MK22
Wolverines only ship in Canada. I am US. Got a set of the rage coming. Will let you know how they turn out.
@@michaeldamskey1025 Great thanks!
Got in the pins from rage. Small ones fit perfect!
I have a tiny spring that was left over after taking it down 😭 help please
That is a tough question to advise you on. I can only suggest that you look at the manual for the "exploded parts" image. That may tell you where it goes. Alternatively drop GSG an email. They may be able to answer this one for you. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I just did the same thing, here is a reddit with the fix. www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns/comments/ej6dpo/gsg16_watch_your_slide_catch_lever_spring/
What rounds do you prefer to use with the GSG-16?
Proud Canadian Remington subsonics 1050fps and CCI ran great. Check out our review of it where we test a bunch of different brands. Thanks for supporting our channel!
1050 isn't enuff.... You need HV 1260+ in order to run flawlessly
@Mike Usa the man just said it works. Yes their manual recommends hv. Experiences vary buddy
Thank you for sharing Great job

That’s a Saffa US immigrant accent if ever I heard one. Lekker, Boet
The most unfortunate thing about this gun is how complex it's assembled
@@thekingofcool1641 I agree. Fun to shoot though
@@BlackBearOutdoors oh absolutely, and here in Canada the 22 rd mag is amazing. All other rifles are pinned to 5
I just spent 45 mins putting the gun back together to come back to your video to realize I had already put the bolt stop in and was trying to make the lower go in after 🤦🤦🤦
