I also loved Alperton Angels, the mixed media element is 😍 Other mixed media books I loved were True Crime Story by Joseph Knox and Kill Show by Daniel Sweren Becker 💕
I was looking forward to This Wretched Valley and now I don't know. 👀🙈 You do have me intrigued by Kill For Me Kill For You and Alperton Angels though. 😉 So glad you had three 5 stars reads last month! Hope March is treating you well so far, Ashley. 😊📚☕️
I put first lie wins on hold at my library in January and I still won’t get it for a while. Bummer you didn’t like it but I’m still excited to read it!
I'm definitely going to be reading The Alperton Angels based on your review, because I read The Appeal from JH and LOVED it. Highly highly recommend that you read that one.
I’m so glad you had so many five stars this month, that’s so awesome!! 😍 also that’s a bummer to hear about First Lie Wins, I’m planning to read that one soon and now I’m curious to see if I’ll end up enjoying it 👀
I’m glad you read and loved The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels. I have it sitting on my shelf to be read this month, and it’s the ONLY Janice Hallett I haven’t read. I hope you’ll be excited to pick up all of Janice Hallett’s backlist as they’re all mixed media. I LOVE them!
I don’t generally read short stories, but I’m going to check out The Wishing Pool. I only like not-too-fluffy romances and I was thinking about Yours Truly, but if you like it - I’m sold! ❤📚
I WDF (will def forget) This Wretched Valley. It was such a mix bag of everything. I dont think the book knew what it wanted to be. I just got tired. I missed the dog and hope that he got out and found ppl with better personalities who make healthy life decisions.
I'm 100 pages into Kill for me, Kill for you and I'm really enjoying it so far. I also just finished the newest C.J. Box book "Three Inch Teeth", and that was excellent!
After listening to the live show of this wretched valley, I decided to just return it to the library without reading. 😂 Loved Assassin's Blade! I'm reading one book a month in the series and vlogging each book. I added kill for me kill for you to my BOTM box and can't wait to get to it.
I too returned it without reading it! I saw another review and it just felt like I don’t want to spend my time reading a book with everyone just passing and feeling like there’s no real purpose but that. It’s funny cause the cover reminds me of a book called Horror Hotel that was a cover buy, but after reviews I’ll never read it. It’s up on my Pango shop though lol.
Since you can enjoy a good different book that isn’t everyone’s favorite hyped novel, I wanted to recommend Ghost Radio by Leopoldo Gout. I first got the recommendation from Shades of Orange, and I loved it. The audio is by Pedro Pascual and he makes it even better. But yes it’s about a radio show, but it’s also just a haunting beautiful story. The physical has illustrations, luckily my library had it, but they aren’t necessary with the story, they’re just a cool supplement with the book. I honestly didn’t look at half of them cause I did the audio. Anyway, it’s been on my mind, it’s one of those books I’ll keep recommending, but the low reviews frustrate me cause it feels like that book just didn’t reach the right readers. It’s not a typical plot, but that’s what makes it great. So glad you had a great reading month. I just finished Midnight on Beacon Street. I loved the anxiety rep, but I always feel bad for debut author when their book isn’t great, I even feel bad saying it. Gotta be hard to be a reviewer!
Oh nooo...This Wretched Valley is the next one I was trying to read from my NetGalley offerings, hahaha. But the one I had lined up after that one is Thirst, so now I'm excited for that one (always love a good melancholy feeling) so I'll just skip ahead 😂
I DNF'd Alperton Angels (Actually didn't start when I saw all the mixed media involved, wasn't sure I would be able to follow and wasn't in the mood to work too hard) I may get back to it later. Just reserved KFMKFY and The Wishing Pool at the library ;)
I don’t read a tenth of what you do in thriller/horror/mystery. I’d also just binged Throne of Glass straight through when I picked up First Lie Wins. I flew through it, I figured because I’d just finished ToG. But I had a great reading experience. Hate it didn’t hit for you.
I am so tempted to try ToG again. I read it in like 2015 and I hated it. But now that I’m loving ACOTAR, and the tandem read in ToG just has me so curious. I feel like I need to just commit
I gave The First Lie Wins 2 stars so you’re not alone. I don’t get the hype because I think it’s one of the most boring thrillers I’ve ever read. It had some good points, but if this wins the Goodreads choice award I riot lol.
I felt the same way about First Lie Wins. I rated it 3 stars but the entire time I was reading it I just couldn’t understand what all the hype was about lol. Great video!
Just finished reading First lie wins and it's a 3 star for me. Your review is on point. The writing style - It's hard to explain, but something about it made it tough for me to stay hooked. Usually, with thrillers, I'm flipping pages like crazy, but this one had me slowing down.
Unpopular opinion: I did not enjoy Kill for Me, Kill for You. It was predictable and I figured out the deal with Naomi and Ruth pretty quickly. 2.5 stars.
Oh, no🤣 I'm 59 percent into This Wretched Valley and really enjoying it so far. Tananarive Due is one of my favorite writers. Great wrap-up!
I loved This Wretched Valley. 🤷♀️
I do recommend reading Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass series in the Romantic Order.
I also wasn’t blown away by First Lie Wins. I gave it a 3. It was just okay, and I agree I appreciated how the ending all came together.
I also loved Alperton Angels, the mixed media element is 😍 Other mixed media books I loved were True Crime Story by Joseph Knox and Kill Show by Daniel Sweren Becker 💕
Thanks so much for reading This Wretched Valley for my book club! I had so much fun discussing it!
I really want to start the throne of glass series too!
I’m so interested in Diavola!
I had fun too!! And I think you’d like Diavola!
The Mysterious Case… sounds so intriguing !!! Great bunch of books ! Thx ! 😊
Seriously, the Alperton Angels mystery sounds intriguing! I'm desperate for a thriller that's actually thrilling.
I was looking forward to This Wretched Valley and now I don't know. 👀🙈
You do have me intrigued by Kill For Me Kill For You and Alperton Angels though. 😉
So glad you had three 5 stars reads last month! Hope March is treating you well so far, Ashley. 😊📚☕️
Congratulations to you on your amazing achievement of your reading 📖 for the last month of February
So glad to hear you enjoyed Kill For Me Kill For You as it was my BOTM pick!
I put first lie wins on hold at my library in January and I still won’t get it for a while. Bummer you didn’t like it but I’m still excited to read it!
Thanks for all the great recommendations! I have a couple
Of the books mentioned and looking forward to reading them
Lots of these sound good but I’m so intrigued now by The Alperton Angels now and need to pick it up asap.
I'm definitely going to be reading The Alperton Angels based on your review, because I read The Appeal from JH and LOVED it. Highly highly recommend that you read that one.
I definitely plan on checking it out! Hope you enjoy Alperton Angels!
Wow! You read so many new thrillers!!! Tks for the reviews ❤😊
Omg yes First Lie Wins was boring.
Great Reviews! Had to add a bunch to my TBR! Thank you!
I finished the Reformatory last night and I thought it was unbelievable 😍 I’m so excited Tananarive Due has a backlist and I can’t wait yo get into it
I’m so glad you had so many five stars this month, that’s so awesome!! 😍 also that’s a bummer to hear about First Lie Wins, I’m planning to read that one soon and now I’m curious to see if I’ll end up enjoying it 👀
I’m curious too! Soooo many people have been loving it so maybe it will work better for you!
You have completely sold me on Alperton Angels! I read the Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett in December and it was so fun and laugh out loud funny
I'm definitely putting the Angels book on my y
The Twyford Code by Janice hallet is also clever and good. I think you’d enjoy it, too.
I’m glad you read and loved The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels. I have it sitting on my shelf to be read this month, and it’s the ONLY Janice Hallett I haven’t read.

I enjoy your reviews. 😍 Kill For You, Kill For Me is on my reading list too. I’ve been waiting to hear reviews on this one. Thanks for sharing 😊💕
The Reformatory-SO worth the length!!!
Such a great month!! I loved Yours Truly too, plan to read Kill for Me, Kill for You this week. Happy March reading!📚
I’m reading a cozy murder mystery now I’m loving! They need to make a movie of it! Moving is murder by Nellie Steele
I hope you are currently reading something good. Best wishes.

Good idea on This wretched Valley 😂 and love that we’re on this ToG journey together!!

@@GabrielTheMagolorMain 😂😂It's so sad when books with cool covers end up not being good.
I'm on the last book in the TOG series and omg I'm obsessed! I'm afraid to finish the series lol. But it's soooooo good!
Have you read Night Film? Also a mixed media book.
It’s on my TBR! I plan to do a dedicated reading vlog in the next few months with it 😊

I'm currently reading First Lie Wins and I'm almost 20% and not invested yet. Haven't given up yet but I'm not seeing the hype for it either.
"It's not my fault!" Me about This Wretched Valley. I also gave it 1 star.
😂😂😂 at least you suffered with us
“the expert i trust” 🥹🥹 happy to be of service, milady 🤍
yours truly is god tier romance, i’m so happy you loved it ❤️💛
God tier is so right 👏🏻

I got my dinner and I’m ready
Awesome books. New sub

This video has given me a video idea 👀
Oh? 👀

Samesiesssss but I can’t say I’d be surprised 🤷🏻♀️ 🙈
I gave it 3 stars. It’s been done better. A lot better.
I felt the same way about First Lie Wins. I rated it 3 stars but the entire time I was reading it I just couldn’t understand what all the hype was about lol. Great video!
I have an arc of the antique hunters 😬 oh no no no
Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did 😬😂
I felt the same about First Lie Wins! I got bored and DNF'd halfway through. I was expecting much more.
Loved First Lie Wins!
Just finished reading First lie wins and it's a 3 star for me. Your review is on point.

I didn’t like first lie wins and returned it to audible
Has anyone read the book Steven Demogorgon?
I tried the Alperton Angels and DNFed it. Too much work. I did not enjoy the format.
Sorry it didn’t work for you!
First Lie Wins was AWFUL Such a disappointment
I DNF’d First Lie Wins at about 80%. Literally nothing was happening in the entire book. 😴 I don’t get it.
