Damn, the writers really put Camilla in a bad light here. I suppose the optimistic way to look at her behaviour is that because Camilla has probably had a childhood full of losing people she cares about, it has driven and twisted her levels of attachment to almost-insane levels. Despite the violent undertones, I think all this means is that Camilla really cares about Selena, but that care has become manic due to a terrible childhood.
littlescruby A whole lot of Fates characters, especially those from Nohr, have major psychological issues. I wouldn’t put it past Camilla to act on some of those darker thoughts, depending on what mood she’s in when she receives the news that someone she likes might leave soon.
Super late, but in the JP version of the game, that obsessive aspect of hers was really emphasised. Unfortunately, like many things, the localisation watered it down because we can't have complex characters with personal issues.
Almost insane ? But... That's the point of her character : trauma lead her to go insane. She's not healthy mentally She's still great though (she's my favorite character ever lol)
Not sure if it's lucky or not, but in my game Camilla got together with Odin, and since Odin took her back with him that means Camilla can stay with Selena too. Good for Corrin (one less potential stalker as Warriors shows), maybe not as good for Selena?
@@chrisschoenthaler5184 I mean, by default she's the aunt of Xander's and Leo's kids (and Corn's and Azura's as well I guess). If Elise marries someone, she's her kid's aunt too. If Camilla marries Kaze she's Asugi's aunt too, or if she marries Ryoma or Takumi, she's also the aunt of the other Hoshidan prince's kid(s) as well as Hinoka's and Sakura's eventual children She can be the aunt of an awful lot of people lol
It's sad for Corrin actually, as it means that one of their beloved sisters leaves their side It's also sad for Xander as he loses one of his dear little sisters, for Elise as Camilla's her role model (iirc she died some of her hair to look more like her, even), and Leo as he always sought for her affection and would think even more that she doesn't care about him (and the artbook implies that he likes her... A lot, let's say, from what I've heard) That's why, whenever I marry Camilla to Odin or Laslow, I put Beruka with the other one. Like that Camilla, Beruka and Selena stay together at least For Selena it's actually happy, I think. It's clear that ultimately, she likes Camilla, so having her in Ylisse...
Definitely one of the most disturbing supports in the game. Camilla's obsessive nature with those close to her is just unsettling and how can anyone take what she said here with a straight face? and poor Selena, no wonder she disappeared from records after the war, she probably made a B line for Ylisse and never looked back.
She's crazy, that's the point. She's neither the first nor the last unhealthy playable character in this series (heck, we got a game with a cast full of unhealthy people a few years later)
@@king_treegar I'm watching all of Camilla's supports in English, to see if they feel the same (or not) as the French version lol I don't know if I'm just curious or if I have too much time, but it's a fun ride
@@CuteHimbo Let's see how unhealthy the cast of Engage is when it comes out in less than two weeks, i'll be surprised if they manage to top the level of fucked up that Three Houses' characters had.
Wyvern Lord Selena is pretty good ! The only downside is to go through E rank hell. But aside from that, with Selena being fast and bulky... It even helps her with her big flaw, her Strength
Is there a DLC out (or coming out) that tells of what happens to Selena, Odin, and Laslow after the war, regardless of which side Corrin chose? Some of the ending I looked up just say these 3 don't have many records of their history, not what they did afterwards. I know "Hidden Truths" tells us where they were planning to go, but did they actually do it is what I'm asking?
@@shunny9034 I'm positive that's what makes Revelation the canon route. Their mission was to kill Anankos but you don't do that in Birthright or Conquest right? (I didn't really get a chance to play the games myself but I did watch tons of videos on the games) Killing them in Birthright or the Conquest route just don't feel right.
My best guess is they use the transportation crystal thingamajig to return to Ylisse regardless of the chosen route. Revelations, they did what they were asked to do by Anankos, and left as peace had settled between Nohr and Hoshido. Birthright, since Nohr had gone to sh*t, they most likely gave up and teleported home (even worse of a gut punch that Laslow’s an optional death). Conquest resulted in peace for Nohr’s benefit and they maybe never find a way to reach Valla post-war and defeat Anankos and head home (and Selena could die if it were Classic mode and the player doesn’t reset).
Compared to the awakening trio and their retainer conversion to their master, this the most fucked up. Camilla is mentally ill, just the shit she does does. Go watch ghasts video for more info

Being a horrible person doesn't mean you can't be a compelling character, that being said Camilla is far from what I would consider a deep and complex character and seems written to Satisfy peoples insane fantasies. Characters and supports like these give the 3DS characters a bad name, all the diamonds in the rough in awakening are buried under a load of garbage in both awakening and fates.

Camilla - Selena
Leo - Odin
Xander - Laslow
