  • Featured here is an excellent chess game between Bobby Fischer and Pal Benko from the 1959 Candidates Tournament. Fischer plays the Sozin Attack, and Benko responds with 6...Qb6, the Anti-Fischer-Sozin variation. After Fischer creates a pawn duo with f4, many kingside attacking ideas become available to him.

Rook d1 is so hard to play in this position and calculate all variations. Such a nice, calm move. This is why Fisher is the best ever. So nice, so simple, every move with the purpose.... Excellent game and lesson for us mortals.. ;-)

In the game, 19. Nh5 was played. But why couldn't Fischer go for 19. Nf5 again, to freeze the f6 pawn, just as you showed in the other variation?
