Perfect swing he has. I love his swing. He uses his shoulder very effectively.
I worked the FedEx cup championship one year in ATL. While walking over towards the practice range one morning, I heard a sound I never heard before. Rory, Adam, Finau, etc.were all practicing. But it was Xander that had the most distinct sound with his irons. What a ball striker!
It's a very simple and efficient swing.
Not a lot can go wrong with it which means you can count on it when the pressure of competition mounts
Perfect backswing
Falling back to the left heel at the top is key.
The secret sauce to this transition which results in shallowing of club, staying in posture and nice open hips: watch the pressure going into the left heel BEFORE the club stalls at the top at 12:45.

I’ve come back to this video many times and I’m now starting to realize a lot of the motion comes from the grip. I think it gets thrown into the “bowed wrist” category by many, but really it’s just a weakish grip and he really leads with the back of his left hand. Then just push the square club face through with the right
pushing is slow, no pushing, maybe throwing is better terminology

I know some were 3/4 swings, but he doesn't seem to hinge the wrist like most.
He still makes the lag though

Most early extenders throw their hands away from the body - watch how his hands return at impact where the start at address - that's a power source as well as lag creator.
Standing closer to the ball will also assure an EE to arrive with hands closer to the body at impact, instead to throwing it out at the ball.

Lol no. Its the camera and angle creating the effect. Look up old Tiger woods highlights. Some shots look like shanks but they were pure and near the pin!

Yea winning golf Medal, travelers, and genisis Scottish open is pretty inconsistent
his swing is one if not the most consistent because little lag and very even club movement
