It's not a clinical condition but it's an umbrella term for people who lack affective (but not cognitive) empathy, display superficial charm and shallow emotions. Also, around 1% of all people are psychopaths, it's not as rare as you'd think. In the corporate world, out of all people with senior management positions and high-end lawyers and stuff, around 15% are psychopaths.

      I have seen the series of John Wayne Gacy clips. They tell that he often targeted gay kids and at that time mostly the kids were disowned for being gay or just left their homes. Moreover it was the time of cults and many kids were taken over by cults. The police had a suspect on him but they couldn't search his house without a warrant, you see he was a powerful person. He knew how politics worked and used it for his advantage. After three rejected warrants, the police had gotten the warranty and then he was caught and that too because of his car

      Plain and simply, most of the kids he murdered were considered among the lesser dead as gay kids and vagrants. To this day there are 2-3 unidentified victims because no missing reports or anything ties them to him.

    In my opinion, whilst the nature of Dahmer’s crimes were definetly fucked, John Wayne Gacy was even worse of a human being.
    When Dahmer was arrested, he made no attempt to maintain his innocence. He confessed to everything and actively worked with investigators to make sure they found out the full truth. When the victims families lashed out at him in court, he at least remained silent and faced their justified rage without complaint.
    John Wayne Gacy did not make the same courtesy. Even after his arrest, he continued to pretend like it was just insanity or that he was simply framed. Even after he was put on death row, he refused to recount what he actually did to his victims. He even claimed that he doesn’t really remember killing any of them. He lied so much that no one will ever really know the identities of several of the people he killed or what he truly did to most of his victims. At best, we know the gist of what he’d have done to them based off of the testimony of two of the three survivors.
    One of those survivors was so traumatized and haunted by what Gacy had done to him that he cried throughout his entire testimony and vomitted on the stand. Gacy just laughed and dismissed the entire testimony, even though he’d already confessed to committing murder.

  • @torontoBluejays87
    @torontoBluejays87 5 месяцев назад +16

    The thing about Gacy was he was truly evil down to the bone.
    Dahmer tended to despatch his victims quicker and without struggle. He was just sick about what he did with the corpses after.
    Gacy on the other hand absolutely relished in the torture and anguish his victims felt. He enjoyed the struggle and infliction of maximum pain and terror.

    Firstly, Gacy wasn’t very tall. He was 175cm. This actor who plays Gacy is 196cm. So much taller than the actual Gacy, making him look larger and more dangerous.
    Next, Gacy never wore his clown suit when excuting the murders. The clown thing was just his alter ego. The clown aspect of him is overrated and just to attract social media attention as a ‘killer clown’. His murders had nothing to do with clowns.

    I’d definitely watch a Wane Gacy series if they made one

    I don't know why they didn't just make a season of this and not the Menendez brothers. I do think their story should be told but not by the label as monster and as a follow-up to Dahmer not a good idea

    This is a part of the Monster Universe on Netflix. The John Wayne Gacy limited television to be on Netflix, followed by Ted Bundy.

    I remember when seeing this episode for the first time, and I was thinking to myself why have we gone back to the 70s at some strange guy.
    But it was the minute the clown picture came in to screen (FYI fear of clowns) it slowly started to click in my head it’s Pogo
    I don’t think I’ve ever recovered from the feeling of realising that this is one of the most scariest serial killers in America
