Every new performance is better than the last. Lucy has real talent and is not afraid to use it. She was just a kid when I discovered her on RUclips. I have seen her grow and mature on screen. Even at age 14, Lucy was far ahead of others in their generation.
This performance is typical Lucy Thomas Magic.... 1 camera, 1 mic, 1 take start to finish. Lucy is singing this live, not hiding in a studio. Many will simply lip sync in front of camera, toss in some gimmicky edits, then roll it out. Lucy does just the opposite. That is more proof just how good Lucy really is. She has no peers even close.

Lucy Thomas can hold a note so long that we want to take a breath for her. She has perfect pitch and perfect vibrato regardless of pitch or volume. She even has perfect vibrato mouthing sounds like oohsss and ahhsss.

OMG- we are looking /listening to the biggest superstar to arrive in full throttle in 2024. Yrs she’s brilliant now but she just keeps getting better n better! How? Incredible! She’s taken on so many huge female greats n she’s nailed n owned every song . Streisand n Celine Dion n Whitney are probably the 3 most recent but she’s done covers of older singers that I’ve heard in the last 6-9 months n yes I liked Streisand singing it but it was never a song that jumped out at me … UNTIL NOW! Wow. I love the way obviously uses her diaphragm to control her breathing n then shrugs those shoulders n arms as she winds up with a powerful finish yet finished in such a lovely gentle soft tone . My God she is just brilliant n this has now become one of my fav songs. I’m almost 70 n heard the best n I believe we are witnessing the biggest name on the world stage.

Squirrel, I watched you again and I picked up something right at the beginning. You started with a smile at those opening notes but when she began singing the lyrics you eyes (and eyebrows) popped up and stayed for a while. She grabbed you (and me) and you were hooked. I watched and listened to her again and for some reason this rendition just tears me up; sometimes I can't even go to that beautiful last note. I've been around for a long time (since 1940) and Lucy is in the top 5 artists of all time on my list. Another reactor mentioned that "when you hear Lucy you 'know' it's Lucy". I definitely agree.

This comment that I'm about to make I know will probably draw some sarcasm and ridicule from some mean or unkind people but I don't care, I'm going to comment it just the same. Hearing Lucy Thomas' version of the song Evergreen gave me an unexpected yet wonderful surprise and really a blessing actually. Because it has to do with my spiritual relationship to God. So basically long story short I felt and believe that God used Lucy to transmit in a love song to me how He feels about me. Not in the Eros human love kind of way, but in the Agape love way which is the highest form of love in the universe. Agape love is the eternal love of God. I would be honored if they played Lucy's version of Everygreen at my funeral. That's all I want to say for now.

Squirrel, this piece just tears me up. Those beginning notes set the whole tone. They were lighter than usual (for Lucy), very tender and endearing which set the stage for a flat-out perfect love song. It's hard to keep my composure while listening to it. The line "time won't change the meaning" is particularly emotional with the decrescendo accompanied by a lilt in her voice. It just tops off this piece. 😂

Squirrel, I watched YOU this time and your body language did a lot of silent commenting on this rendition. Lots of smiles, cocking your head to listen more intently, nodding your head, shaking your head as if thinking 'I don't believe this voice', and after the long hold of that last note there was a barely audible expletive (as-well-as more smiling) to finish off the song. Your face said it all. And believe me, you would have seen a lot of the same gestures on me, as-well-as chills and beginning of the water works.
